Stayed here for a night. Check in was quick. Just like other Anchorage hotels, this did not have shuttle. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Blackout curtain was very useful for the endless summer light. Bathroom was clean. The fitness center had water refill station. There was pool and jacuzzi. They offer complimentary breakfast but I had to leave super early before breakfast was available. read more

Stayed here in July after coming back from a gray line trip. They have Lyfts to and from the airport, breakfast is included, and the front desk attendants are friendly. Would definitely stay here over anywhere in downtown. read more

No air, TV doesn't work. Paying $500 a night with house keeping coming in every 4 days. So coffee in the room not replenished, no clean towels. What a rip off. We have complained several times. Today it's 80° and we can't even open the windows. They wanted to give us points. I want a refund! It's an old hotel that they have tried to update and failed miserably. Go somewhere else. For $425/room/night, this is robbery. Had two rooms for one night...and the lack of cleanliness/upkeep was consistent in BOTH. I'm not someone who goes in with a fine toothed comb...but started snapping pics after awhile (though pictures don't capture the worst of it). AC doesn't work - just blows air very loudly...and smells of sweat. Another customer called the front desk when we checked in to say their AC wasn't working either. The carpet was wet and my feet/shoes literally stuck to the floor (carpet AND bathroom tile). There was spilled coffee all over the counter and stuck to it was plastic cups...food and dirt/dust everywhere a vacuum cannot easily reach...TV didn't work. Shower had black gunk on the walls. Almost every counter/surface area was sticky or had rings. Couch was disgusting...didn't even want to sit on it or put my clothes on it. (Similar in the lounge as well.) Cabinets and drawers filthy and weathered-very cheap. Leaving two stars because the two young females that worked at the front desk (though they seemed new) as well as one older gentleman were friendly & the airport Lyft was very helpful and seamless. That said, stay elsewhere. Nice exterior but it's a facade. Have stayed in hotels for half as much that were twice as clean. read more

I stayed here beginning of June 2024. There's free parking if you have a car, otherwise real easy to use Uber and Lyft. Everyone who worked the front desk was very friendly. However, they should hire another person. It gets very busy. Many tour companies use this hotel. The room was clean, really big, super comfortable mattress and soft sheets. For me, breakfast was just OK. They need to do a better job of restocking items when they run out. It gets super busy there. Regarding location...there's really not much near by, but easy to use Uber. read more

I've stayed at many SpringHill Suites and this is by far the best experience I've had. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and even the common areas are clean despite being in the middle of winter in a snowy salty city. The breakfast is fresh and warm every morning and food items are quickly when replenished when they get low. The staff is so friendly and greet you everywhere on property. Half the price of the Marriott downtown and in a safer location. I'll definitely be staying here again! read more

Old , dingy, very out dated. Flat pillows mix match towels dirty carpets not welcoming entrance which was dirty.

We had such a great experience here. We had 3 guests staying while a family member was having surgery. The front desk staff was always very welcoming and kind, even when we came across some issues with Medicaid vouchers we were using for the stay. The room was clean and very spacious. The bed was comfy and the separate desk/kitchenette area was very nice to have. Overall our experience was good and we would consider staying here again in the future read more

First off the guy at the front desk named Jamie had a condescending tone when we approached the front desk to check in. We were flown in by the state and they'd paid for the room 4 days earlier , but NOBODY checked the fax machine. His attitude was snarky . On top of that the room he gave us smelled horrible!! It smelled like ass and cigarettes!! I'm giving them 1 star because I have to give them a. Star to leave a review. I will NEVER and would NEVER stay here again!! We've been Marriott members for well over 10 years and this is the WORST Marriott I've EVER stayed in. The smell was horrible. Jamie gave us another key to check another room and that one smelled just as bad. I j my eel checking to make sure they don't have bed bugs too!! My hubby had to open all the windows, the door to air it out and open a bag of coffee to try to mask the funky cigarette and ass mixture. We'll be checking out early in the a.m.!! Nice nice nice.... really like staying here. Room was gorgeous and well-appointed. *Bed and bedding very comfy and stylish. Even had a neck roll... love those! *LOVED the seating area. The couch was RAD and big enough for four people comfortably. *Nice desk and WI-FI for the laptop. *Also nice big kitchen counter with sink and minifridge. *HUGE flat screen TV that the boys enjoyed. *Clock radio with iPod docking station. *Hair dryer, iron, soap and shampoo, check! The reason we chose this hotel was for the pool... there's only 9 hotels in Anchorage with a pool. It's small, basically for frolicking... not really for the serious swimmer, but that's typical for Anchorage. We enjoyed the large hot tub a lot more. Nice a hot. I looked like a lobster when I got out. Toss in some taters and I would have made a nice bisque. Felt great! Very clean as well. There was also a small gym which I wish I had had time to use. Hotel also had a nice view of the mountains, but some dummy planted trees right outside the windows, so the view is somewhat obstructed. DUH... One of the best parts of the hotel is the lobby. It's very comfy, with nice big comfy couch in front of the fire and flat screen. Lots of tables to sit at if you want to chow down on their tasty complimentary breakfast which was decent. One of the better ones I've had. Staff was a mixed bag, some were awesome, some weren't. The girls who checked me in didn't impress me AT ALL. The guy they sent to my room to help with WI-FI troubles was awesome. All in all, I recommend Spring Hill, but you're gonna pay for it. I recommend looking for a deal, cause it's PRICEY. read more

Good Rooms, Expensive & Tiny Laundry Machines! This was a good place to stay, friendly and helpful staff and clean rooms. Price is decent for Alaska rates. Good centralized location while you are exploring the city before you journey into the great outdoors. Laundry is crazy expensive and the machines are super tiny. The dryer also not efficient. This place is great! They had all the things you needed along with a free breakfast! I travel a lot and only places in the states that provide a free breakfast are usually the places that are not very nice. It's not a five start hotel you would expect from resort style but jeez it's pretty damn good for the price. Captain Cook is my preferred hotel when I travel through Anchorage for work but this wasn't bad on a personal stay. read more

This place was under construction while we were there. The only issue we had was the hour when the two painters were screaming at each other outside of our window. The check in staff was great! When we left there was a couple who were left behind by the shuttle bus. I guess they made arrangements to get on the shuttle at 0430. That ship had sailed minutes before. We ended up taking them with us to the airport. I am sure some other a-hole customers gave a lame excuse to get the shuttle bus to run them to the airport earlier. read more

Overall, this was an ok hotel experience. Front desk staff and hotel staff were very friendly. Room was very spacious and nicely appointed. Was very clean from what I could tell. Breakfast was ok, with plenty of options. some of the food i didn't care for. My main problem was the noise. my room was on the end, near the stairs, and facing the main road. It was noisy 24/7. It was especially bad as people went up and down the stairs starting at 5am. Find a different room if you can. read more

This Springhill Suites location reminds me of the little train that could... but in this case, ultimately, couldn't. The two great things this place has going for it are the employees and the location. Those are it! Anything I asked for/about, the staff was more than happy to help, and to go above what was required. The location is in walking distance to a Walmart where you can pick up forgotten items or get groceries or food. Oh yes... this location has free parking. The room was ready when arrived. The air conditioning unit rattled incessantly; the toliet would not flush/drain. Thinking maybe this area doesn't have the water pressure I am used to, I didn't inform anyone. I decided to take a shower; the tub wasn't clean, but I just turned on the water and let the dirtiness go down the drain. Following this, I then hopped on the internet. The wireless seemed awfully slow, so I decided to use a wired connection. That didn't work-- following the wire, I found that the Ethernet cable had frayed and unconnected wires. I called down to the desk to request a new one, and promptly received one. I then tried the internet. It was like a throwback to dial-up days. I couldn't believe it at all, so I took a screenshot (attached). I called the front desk agent again; when I explained the issue, she sighed and said it happens 'all the time'. Without even asking, she offered to take a certain amount off the bill. For a hotel that usually charges 200.00 + per night, per room, I would expect things to be a bit more on top of things. read more

I typically stay at the SpringHill Suites at University Lake, but they were charging 15$ more for the night I needed, and I figured it'd be a similar experience at their midtown location. And, to be fair, for a one night bed and shower and that's it, it was a good fit, but I would not want to stay here multiple nights. The sheets were old - one had what looked like mold - and did not look like the stock photos on the website. The room was much smaller, as was the bathroom (toilet and shower are not separated like they are at University Lake. Upon check in, and perhaps because it was an online check in, I barely got a greeting, was given my key card and basically left on my own to find my room. The lobby is much smaller (actually what lobby?! it's the same place as the food court area). I don't ever use the pool when I travel, but it, too, looked smaller than the University lake location. They had a school group there that night and the community spaces were all so small that it felt like there were hundreds of students when really there were just a few dozen. The internet connection when they are at 90% full (which is what the lady at the front desk told someone they were on the phone) is non-existent. I could not get on and had to use my phone's wifi. The rooms tables had stains on them that couldn't be washed off, the sinks all drained painfully slow, but filled up very quickly. The fridge kept things marginally cold (it was a bottle of water). Microwave though was clean. TV was nice and worked well. Overall I'd not try to save the $$ next time and just stick with what I know works well. University Lake is worth the extra cost. read more

Stayed here last June while in town for the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon. We were with a big group (Team in Training) from the Bay Area. The self-serve breakfast bar in the lobby was a great place for us all to gather, and it felt cozy. The self-serve breakfast bar also features pre-measured bottles of waffle batter, and a waffle iron :) The room we had was perfect for our needs. There was a desk/kitchen area, where we could put all of our race expo goodies and our snacks. The open closet made it easy for us to hang up our race-day gear, to make sure we had all of that stuff together. There was a sofa area which was great for relaxing. All in all, all of our needs were met. Including last minute shopping for power bars and gatorade at the WalMart next door. Minus one star for location, as it is not near the downtown, or other restaurants (unless you like Outback). read more

Never a disappointment, Springhill Suites. The quality is consistently above par, but not pretentious. You feel welcomed, but genuinely...not forced. The breakfast spread is great. The pool and jacuzzi adequately pleasant. The Chupa Chup lollipops at the front desk, yum. The spacious room with pull out sofa bed, perfect. Microwave. Mini-fridge (that's empty so you can fill it with your goodies). You can get or use your Marriott reward points here....worth it. The centrally located location (for our purposes, anyhow) was perfect. We're here for a graduation at Alaska Pacific University and...it's just down the road. BEST PART, though, Moose's Tooth and Sushi & Sushi are just a hop, skip, and a jump away! read more

I've been staying at Mariotts for a long time and am pretty loyal to the chain. For the most part this location lives up to the Marriott standards with one glaring exception. If you're looking for a hotel with functional internet, this isn't it. The fact is my regular office Internet is 2.38 Mbps, my 3G phone is 1.5 Mbps, Springhill suites is .16 Mbps. That's correct, my 3G phone is 10 times faster than their wi-fi. I assume this is a marriott issue since the courtyard on Spenard is in the exact same boat. This has been an issue at both locations during my last 3 week-long visits over the last 4 months. Overall, Marriott hotels and their awards programs are great, but for a chain that touts that they cater to business travelers not having functional Internet discredits that claim entirely. read more

It's a Marriott - what else can I say... except the staff was amazing delightful and very friendly. The rooms and overall appearance of the place is quite dated and could use renovation to liven the place up a little. They do serve breakfast in the morning so that's a plus in its own. I usually stuff myself and take a to-go bag. They always have hot coffee at the lobby, but that's usually a given at any Marriott. I've definitely stayed at better hotels. Just gotta keep updating and make the place look decent, I mean people $130 a night to stay there so might as well keep the place looking good, ya know? read more

I checked in to my room and needed a nap after a long travel day. As I was falling asleep, a strange man walked right into my room! He was startled by me being there and we both headed to the front desk. There, we were informed that his reservation noted he was sharing a room. He informed the staff that he shouldn't be sharing while I explained he definitely wasn't sharing with me. He was a complete stranger!! When I expressed my concern for the staff having given a strange man a key to my room I was told they had deactivated that card. Unbelievable! I am a woman who travels alone for work and have never been more uncomfortable. I am a titanium member with Marriott and would've expected a much more sincere apology, without excuses, and perhaps some sort of restitution for sending a strange man right inside my room! I live in Anchorage. I booked a hotel room here for the use of the pool. Alaska resident discount. Let's start with front desk: very friendly, professional attire, smiling, willing to help and accommodate. Very pleased. The room is what you get at any hotel. Two double beds, a pull out couch, a desk, microwave, mini fridge, coffee and coffee maker, sink, TV, free Wi-Fi, bath/shower. Towels, samples of shampoo and conditioner along with body soap. The beds are soft, pillows are nice, I believe feather. There is ac/heat by the window. I DID check for bedbugs and was really surprised to see bedbug liners over the mattress. So I unzipped them and looked at the mattress and they are very clean! Super happy about that. No bugs!the pool is nice. Only 5ft and a small hot tub about 7ppl comfortably. There is a free breakfast every day and have yet to take a look but will update when I do. All in all I rate it 4 stars because although it could use a remodel,it does everything and has everything you need for basic necessities. Update on free breakfast. I usually don't eat breakfast at a hotel when it's green because I don't really like breakfast foods but for a Saturday morning breakfast itbwas impressed. They had eggs, Canadian bacon, cheese, salsa, English muffins, croissants, bananas, toast, little scones, mini muffins, a belgin waffle maker and you make your own belgin waffle. So good! They had little cups of peanutbutter, jelly, butter, honey, toppings for oatmeal (chocolate chips, shaved almonds, little pieces of dried fruit, brown sugar, cinnamon) they had little bottles of milk, yogurt, orange juice, a toaster to toast your bread/english muffin and bagels. I am so so impressed. Only thing I would of loved was fresh fruit but I am happy with what they served! read more

We stayed here for one night. The only available room was an wheelchair-accessible room so it was slightly larger than the other rooms - mainly the bathroom. We had a good experience. There was a complimentary breakfast in the morning with scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, pastries, yogurt, etc. The staff was friendly. The decor is somewhat modern. The location is about 15-20 minutes away from downtown. There is a movie theater close-by if you're looking for something to do. read more

I stayed here after a day at the Fairfield Inn Midtown, just down the road, so I'll make a few comparisons in case you are considering either. The rooms here are nice and large. I prefer Springhill over pretty much any other mid-tier brand, with the exception of Residence Inn, which was unavailable at my price point on this trip. The Fairfield gives lotion, but the Springhill doesn't. While not normally a big deal, I was completely unprepared for how dry Anchorage in fall/winter would make my skin. That lotion was missed. Both locations have a poor breakfast. The consistency of the eggs at both is pretty runny. The Canteloupe at Springhill was good, but the honeydew mellon was poor. Springhill seems to have a lot more road noise along A street that the Fairfield had. Although when I was at the Fairfield, some other guests claim there was a shooting a few blocks away from the property, and they heard a bunch of sirens. The temperature controls are both pretty un-impressive. The fairfield had an old slide thermostat. The Springhill has none. Just the wall mounted unit where you can "guess" how warm or cold you think your room should be. The Springhill unit is louder than the Fairfield. While that may seem like a negative, it is actually a blessing. It helps drown out the road noise. It unfortunately made me sleep in half an hour extra because I could not hear my phone alarm over at the desk. While the staff here at the Springhill is nice, the folks over at the Fairfield seemed a bit nicer. Unless you are tied to the mid town location, my previous experience over at the Springhill Suites University Lake on the other side of town was superior, both in room and in almost every other way. The Fairfield wins hands down when it comes to internet. It was actually useful. As others have said, the Springhill "high speed" internet is only high speed if you compare it with dial up. The Springhill does have some nice cookies in the afternoon eveing, and a bit more of a kitchenette. This room also has a ceiling fan and a ihome stereo. Unfortunately, many iDevices no longer have the old pin connections. read more

Rooms were exemplarily clean and quiet. Everyone at the front desk went out of their way to greet us. They even packed a breakfast for my parents as they just missed breakfast since our flight got in super late the night before. This hotel also hosted two prestigious mushers before the Iditarod. We got to meet them and watch them care for their dogs. Amazing experience. The breakfast during the weekdays was top notch. Healthy options such as greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit. Its a simple, standard Marriott. Internet is slow but there is no charge which is good (it's quicker in the lobby and breakfast room area). There is a pool which is good to relax and the rooms are large, although the beds aren't that comfy. The staff are nice and helpful. They do give you a coffee percolator and coffee sachets, but although they supply you with teabags, there is NO KETTLE?? This is simple stuff Marriott... Not that bad a stay for a quick layover but it's fairly basic... read more

We stayed here for one night before taking the train to our cruise port. The location was convenient to a restaurant we wanted to try, so that was a plus. The room was standard, with the bathroom vanity open to the rest of the room. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They provided a complimentary shuttle to the train depot at 6:00am which was a nice surprise since we expected to use a cab. If we were ever to return we would stay here since the rate was very good for the summer. read more

The beds were comfortable and the complementary breakfast was great! So many choices and a courtyard to sit in to boot. Would def recommend. About a 20 minute drive to the airport but worth the trip.
