I grew up in SVAA and now coach/parent a kiddo in SVAA.
The dedication to the sports and the kids is unparalleled. The women working in the SVAA office are always on the phone with a parent or coach or school or ref/ump or someone. I've never walked in to a quiet office. Not once.
It is becoming increasingly more difficult to juggle public vs. private school schedules, select leagues, challenging compliance obligations, etc.; but, SVAA is doing a damn good job trying to do so. If parents and coaches could see the behind-the-scenes work like I have now (season four), that office would be covered in flowers, balloons, and all the bagels in the land, for pity's sake.
Keeping some of these community organizations and schools thriving would be great. I hope we (alums, parents, coaches, umps, refs, etc.) can continue to support this one. read more
