It's near our home so we have a reason to have been here a few times. Agree with other reviewers that it has neither great food nor great atmosphere but it's good enough to return to. I've had brisket, pepper sausage, and turkey in different visits and all have been moist and tasty. The sauce is average. I love the all-you-want sides although I wish the green beans didn't come from a can. The cole slaw and potato salad are usually pretty good. You are allowed to go back up to the line for more sides if you want but I've never tried. They have a gimmick of delivering fresh bread rolls to your table as they come out of the oven. It's good bread but I wish they would do whole wheat instead of always white. (It's a TX BBQ place, should I really expect other than white bread?) Good for a satisfying dinner but there are better places to go if you are looking for a nice night out. read more

Not a fan of this place at all. It's filthy, the floor is always slippery and dangerous to walk on and the food is way over priced and not at all good. The only reason I come is my business networking group meets here and we are trying to find a new place because of how filthy the place is. If you're from the South or have had real Texas BBQ do yourself a favor and stay away from this cheap, overpriced, imitation buffet-like restaurant. The meat was gross and the food flavorless , this place reeks of smoke . Must be fake because their BBQ sure doesn't taste like it . The woman working at the cash register had a huge attitude when i noticed they tried charging me for a full meat plate yet they shorted me a rib . Firstly, I am not from Texas nor currently living there. So I am far from expert with this sort of cuisine. Still, I do know good food. On Sunday we went to Spring Creek. I had the (lean) brisket, mac and cheese and the coleslaw. I put one of their spicy BBQ sauces on the brisket. It was a tad dry, but tasty. The bread was fresh and warm. Default bbq location. I eat here at least once a month when I'm home from school, and I'm always impressed. Great portion sizes, not too greasy, and delicious, juicy, smoky flavor in all the meats. I highly recommend the ribs, the chicken, the brisket, the sausage - basically everything. The okra and the corn make for great sides. And of course the heavenly rolls. This isn't the best bbq iv ever had but it's good. The loaded baked potato is very big and very flavorful. It can get a bit dry by the end so make sure you get extra sour cream and barbecue sauce on the side. The sausage, both jalapeño and regular and juicy, are also good choices. read more

Another trip to the local BBQ joint and a downgrade. Food is still A-ok, not my favorite hole in the wall food, but not bad either. It is close to home and convenient, plus it is clean and hires the kids from our high schools. Here's the reason for my downgrade. Service behind the counter is friendly and enthusiastic. Once you get to your table, it is kind of lack luster, make that VERY lack luster. The girls that come around with the bread act like they hate having to come around, then they either never come or stop by every minute. Second, I have a little one who likes to get a scoop of Blue Bell. There have been times where they came by and asked if he wanted one and just gave it to him. Lots of restaurants include this with their kids meal. Other times, you go up to the cobbler/roll/ice cream station and they charge you for it. I don't paying but when you see another family go up there with 3 kids and they are all chatty with the manager, then not have to pay, well, it kind of makes me made. This time, hubby got a peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream for us to split. It was the smallest piece of cobler, about 2" square, and an anemic scoop of ice cream. This was a $4 dessert and my kid's had scoops of ice cream for $2 that were twice as big. read more

I would come here just for the bread that comes around fresh out of the oven. The pulled pork was the only good meat, it was sweet and mustard based. The turkey tastes extremely processed like a deli meat and was not the usual carved turkey Breast I was expecting from a BBQ place. The sides were just ok but nothing too special. read more

Tried the new pulled pork. It was... watery. Saw the reviews have improved on this place so tried it again for late lunch today. Tried it a couple times when it first opened (well over a year ago) and found the ribs bland and chewy, sides bleh, service good and rolls good. $8.85 w/tax for pulled pork sandwich + 2 sides and water. Service - Came in after main lunch crowd, 1:30ish. No one was behind the counter anywhere for some time (5-6 minutes). I was deciding, so wasn't a big problem. Another couple came in and I let them pass; they seemed to be geting antsy about waiting. One got the stuffed baked potato with sliced brisket on the side (yes I spy on what others get, especially since I get my potato the same way) - Was glad to see the server not make a big deal of special request. Waited another minute for someone to come out and let me pay. I looked around to see if they had meat priced by the pound, like Carl's and Rudy's. I didn't see any prices, which they should post for those who want to get meat to go and make their own sides at home. Just a suggestion. If I missed it, please correct me! They also didn't have prices listed for the new pulled pork. The famous service for rolls never came around, I suppose because I was there off-peak. I finally went up to the counter and found someone to get me one. Food - The other person ahead of me appeared to get the three meat platter, which didn't seem huge (price $11.95). Saw the potato come out and it looked okay (Carl's looks better). I tried the new Pulled Pork. Sandwich. Buttered, toasted, big soft sesame seed bun. The bun was tasty. I opened the sandwich to sneak a taste of the meat sans bread and sauce. Good slightly smoky flavor, tender, but it seemed really watery. Many BBQ joints in Texas don't try to do pulled pork. That's more a Carolina or Tennessee thing. But I love it and will always try it. Still looking for a favorite Pulled Pork place in Houston... Apparently they didn't want it drying out in the holding pan, but I'd rather they let it dry out. There was just too much water, not a broth or sauce, water. I used a couple paper towels to try to dry it out, but... There was a LOT of meat on the sandwich. I'm stuffed. But I don't think I'll get it again unless they change it up. Sauce was sweet, smoky, slightly spicy with a peppery finish. I liked it. I put it on the sandwich and my cole slaw. Cole slaw was cut in 1/2" squares. Am I weird for wanting it shredded? It was a little bland. Better with BBQ sauce on it. Baked beans or BBQ Beans? Pretty good. KInd of ranch style with the same BBQ sauce I think. Rolls - yummy. I'm torn between giving it two and three stars. Price / Value / Taste / Service just isn't quite there for me today. According to Yelp, two stars means "Meh. I've experienced better." I may try it again sometime to try the other meats, but with two other favorites close by that are easier for me to get to, it won't be first on my list of BBQ joints. read more

Just ate here with hubby and kids. The meat was great. We had chicken, ribs, and sausage. The sides were ok. The Mac n cheese was not the best I had ever had, but not the worst. The 4 year old gobbled it up. Tr green beans were tasty, but also not the best. Corn on the cob was kind of mushy, but eatable. Rolls were good. Hubby says his fries were good. We all shared a large slice of chocolate pie, which was yummy. Everything was clean. Everyone was super friendly and helped us carry our trays of food since we had our hands full with kids. I enjoy coming here with my family - it's clean and consistent. We like to eat the ribs, chicken and sausage - brisket is lean so sometimes can be dry but still good. Corn, slaw and baked potatoes are our preferred sides. read more

LOVE IT! Great BBQ and I love their fried okra. I usually get their chopped beef sandwich or chopped baker. Their fresh hot bread rolls melt in your mouth, although, I usually try to avoid them because I'm sure they pack on the pounds. read more

you have to check your to go orders very carefully. some of the cutters do not know what marble and lean meat is. i always order no bark and wouldn't you know it i get lots of bark. most of the girls seem nice except the ones that do not want to be working there. they must be related to someone working there. the sides have a lot to be desired. the bread is good. wish the cutters were better trained. read more

Went for Father's Day. Line was way too long because the line had to stop and wait as to go orders were processed. Would have been faster and smoother to have some work to go orders and others the dine-in. Not enough help on the floor with the complimentary rolls and ice cream. Got one roll at the end of the meal and never saw anyone with ice cream even though we waited another 10 min after are meal for it. Would think management would call in extra staff on holidays like this. read more

My co-workers and I love the pulled pork from here. We ordered it at lunch one day and I went to pick it up, I was disappointed when returning to work. The lady told me there were pickles and onions in there for sandwiches, which there were not and we ordered extra rolls because they are so good and they were almost all over baked! Went for the first time with my husband last week. We really didn't know how it worked, but they helped us get through the line. Love how they came around and offered fresh bread frequently. Only complaint would be that the staff was really young and goofing off a bit, but it was late and they were probably just ready to go. Would visit again... Just for the peach cobbler! :-) read more

Delicious, fast, family friendly, and great service! His place is a must! The whole place had a warm welcoming smell of fresh barbecue on the grill. We had the pulled pork sandwiches and it was scrumptious! The green beans were country style and cooked perfectly. I have been to SCB 5 times and it is good for cypress where there are few choices.the meats are as good as the others but SCB does do better than carls or Harris county in the sides which are unlimited with the usual suspects and fresh free hot rolls I give SCB the nod! This is not Lockhart my friends it cypress and SCB will fill a big man! read more

I have eaten at different spring creeks around houston and this one had the worst brisket of any. It seemed to be super dry like it was from yesterday. We came for a spirit night for my children's school. The service on the other hand was exceptional, I just wish I could say same about the food. Had the Brisket and Sausage plate. The Coleslaw was bland and dry. The beans had no flavor. The bbq sauce was watery. The rolls were still doughy and gross. Went with my church group and the only redeeming quality about this restaurant is the back room where we had fun. read more
