I googled each different catamaran tour and finally decided on this one purely based on the fact that we got to take the snorkel with us afterwards. I'm so glad we decided on this specific tour! We had an absolute blast on the catamaran that we took to Icacos Island and then the reef. We got to see a bunch of different types of fish. I wish I could have even taken a picture of the buffalo trunkfish (I googled the type of fish later) that was so curious. It kept swimming up to my face and was swimming with me the entire hour we were at the reef. It was a highlight of our trip for sure! Tracey was also a blast to be around on our trip, he made us laugh the entire time. Stop thinking and just go ahead and book this catamaran!

Absolutely perfect way to spend the day. We started early at the port (9:00 am ish) and stood with the other people waiting to get checked in and take off on our adventure. Our crew consisted of 4 members all of which helped each other out and all were super friendly and helpful the entire duration of the trip. Great communication and made sure to keep all the passengers safe and up to speed on what the agenda was and the timing for activities. Lunch was included, think kind of like subway wraps, chips, some fruit, etc. Also, as soon as we boarded and set sail they had pina coladas and rum punch for everyone. The sailing was smooth, the crew was professional and took into account all the necessary safety measures to ensure everyone had fun and returned back safely. Just a little on the destination, the beach we went to was really nice. White sands and very few people there. The area we went for snorkeling was a nice calm reef area. You still need to be careful, but it was very nice for everyone that decided to try it out. We would very highly recommend these guys if you are looking for a catamaran day.

we had the best time, the water was so clear! We definitely will be taking the rest of our family back here for the next time on Puerto Rico! Food was great drink was for great staff was great. Thanks!

The trip was amazing. The only complaint is that it's a bit too short - would be nice if we visit one more of the neighboring cayos as well. Otherwise, the boat ride was filled with thrill and surprises like whale and sea turtle sightings. We spent some quality time at the Icacos beach before going snorkeling at a nearby reef. There was still some living coral left and the water was very clear. I would recommend bringing your own snorkel though (we did) as the snorkels they had did not have a dry valve on top or a purge valve in the bottom. It's a lot less user-friendly.

With a name like "Spread Eagle" you know you are in for a crazy good time! The snorkeling trip on the Spread Eagle catamaran was one of the highlights on our trip in Puerto Rico. For about $75 per person we were treated to a day on the water that included lunch, snacks, rum punch, snorkeling, and relaxing on a quiet beach. The crew was fantastic and super friendly! We were constantly being offered drinks and fresh fruit. They even had pretzels for me when I got a little sea sick. There were about 20 of us on the catamaran and our group was a lot of fun. Everyone was there to party and get tipsy so it was a fun trip. We didn't even let a little rain shower get us down at the end of the day! Of course we had to purchase the "Spread Eagle" t-shirts at the end of our trip! Would definitely recommend booking a trip on the Spread Eagle!

First time in a Catamaran and it was a blast!! Great team, great vibe, great food, environmentally friendly, in summary, one of the best days of my life (and I even got a little sea sick). The team was very profesional and very responsible. They were very clear with their instructions on how to handle the ecosystems we would found and they were very caring and attentive. I have already recommended this trip to everybody, and I did my trip yesterday! Thanks for a great time and the memories I'll have with my family for a lifetime.

Highly recommended! Had a great time, crew was very attentive and informative. I wish I remembered everyone's name other than Maria, but everytime I come back, I'll be sure to book this again. Lunch was great and plentiful.

I definitely recommend booking this day/snorkeling trip to Icacos. We had a great time! I booked online from California - everything was just as described online but the experience was so much more. The staff was pleasant, friendly, organized - the snacks and lunch provided were good, the drinks were great too. I don't think we could have asked for a better experience. They provided all of the gear, and we saw so many beautiful fish! This was completely family friendly and the captain even let my boyfriends 11 year old steer the catamaran. I would say : do it! 100%. * the only thing I would like to note is the directions take you to the dock and online it says to look for the sign. We didn't see the sign, but when we looked inside the dock, there it was.

The waters were so aqua blue

We had the best time snorkeling on the catamaran. They left on time and everything was perfectly organized. We have been to several places snorkeling such as Thailand, Florida and Mexico and we saw the most colorful fish on this trip and a lot of them. The Captain even took us sailing after snorkeling. The food was fresh and the drinks were great. We only had about 30 people on our tour. They also worked with me when I called them 30 mins prior from the meet up time and got me booked on the tour.

I should have trusted my gut instinct. This company is full of promises that they did not and…read morelikely can't deliver. I don't leave bad reviews but when I feel I was duped out of nearly $1200 your damn right you will hear from me! It's not even the money - I specifically asked about fishing for my son as that was the whole point! So now his day was ruined - which I may add he had been looking forward to for months! So yes, 5 days before our charter plans changed due to the other half of our party canceling their vacation. So, to stay honest with the company and try to do the right thing I informed Ellen what the situation was and that I could not pay $1700 extra on top of our $500 deposit. I told her we wanted fishing for my son which was the most important aspect of the trip. After back and forth for a bit she agreed we would have everything we originally planned but cut time to 4 hours- fishing she said could only be catch and release but for an extra $100 she would add more gas and bait for fishing! Well, that was not done- there was zero bait and zero extra gas used to go anywhere for fishing! I even called her per the captain's recommendation- funny how her story changed at that point! She said the bait would come from the captain catching fish and using that as bait... nope captain couldn't do it! I said where's the extra $100 on "gas" hmmm still waiting on that. Trust me if I wanted to take my kids to a "party island" and sit idle in the water for 3 hrs and use a dinky hook to catch baby fish I could have done that for way less than $1200! When I called her out on it I of course got the run around and blaming me for trying to hurt a small business! Lady, I love small business - I come from a family of business owners, but this is Not the way you run a business or treat customers. The best part I booked a separate fishing trip but was trying to do right by the company so they did not take a total loss- the other company gladly gave my deposit back! Again, I should have cancelled completely with island reef tours! Heed the warning- the boat was subpar, the service was not anything to gloat about and she promised many things that were not delivered! Don't worry I have texts about our conversations- she will only show the ones she claims is what she promised. What a joke!

Unfortunately, our experience on the island's tour with Island Reef Tours fell short of our…read moreexpectations and most importantly their promises. The boat was substandard and nowhere near what was agreed upon. We did not receive the promised boat, we booked a 36' center console with tower and second level (which they referenced for us to jump off of etc), instead were given a retired 30' Grady White Fishing boat. A boat where a third of the seating was on top of a cooler. The change from Dock D to Dock B, further solidifies the bait and switch operation was in full force. (I hesitate to use the word "bait" as there was no bait even on the boat despite promised fishing) We paid for a boat with a captain and mate (this too was pointed out in their email) all we had was a captain, this diminishes the service level available to all guests We paid for fishing, there were no fishing rods on the boat and fishing would have been nearly impossible with only a captain, never in over a dozen charters have I seen fishing attempted without a mate Rum punch was promised and paid for, that was not provided 20' floating carpet - this wasn't on the boat and at first the captain said there was no option for one. But he did eventually find an old damaged one that had about 10' of the 20' remaining Were promised the "crew" would swim over a cooler and umbrella, that too was not available, when we asked about taking anything on shore, we were told not too as the captain didn't want to deal with the sand getting on it We were told we could fish and cook our catch, without fishing rods and staff that too was impossible. We were promised a guided snorkel tour with the "captain and mate" that was not provided and could not be provided as there was no "mate" This entire charter operation is an embarrassment.

They gave us instructions for snorkeling, and helped everyone to securely fasten their gear. We stopped at three spots for snorkeling. The first one were very close to Icacos Island, which was deliberately in a shallow area, so first time snorkelers like me can get some practice before going into deeper waters. The other two spots we stopped were in the middle of the ocean, among the reefs and vast expanse of the Caribbean Sea. Herbert, an experienced diver that guided our tour, dove down and flipped lots of rocks and caught little star fish, urchins, shrimps, crabs and other interesting creatures for us to see. It was amazing, and something I couldn't have done if I were on my own. Snorkeling is such an easy sport, even though I've only swan in water parks before, I find it easy to swim the sea with no problem. Lunch was prepared by them, with cold cuts, cheese and sandwich bread. I'm not a fan of these type of food, but I didn't expect hand pulled noodles in the middle of the sea either. Food was not the point of this trip anyway. If you don't like these food, you can always bring snacks and just put them in the cabin downstairs. In the end, we sailed by this small piece of land and saw iguanas climbing up the trees. It was really nice. I learned about this tour rather late, so I didn't meet the book online window (at least 12 hours ahead), had to call in and make reservation. I would recommend everyone taking advantage of their online booking system, it is real-time and you get $10 off.

Instead of Culebra we settled on the uninhabited beach of Caya Luis Pena before Culebra with crystal clear waters in about 20 minutes. The waters were translucent clear turquoise and beach sand was pristine. Water temp was around 79-80F. Weather was overcast and comfortably cool. They laid out a simple light sandwich buffet for lunch with beers and tropical cocktails. Snorkeling, swimming and relaxing for a few hours, we spotted small schools of fish and a very cool bachelor Stingray circling looking for scraps. Crew was incredibly friendly and helpful and everyone enjoyed the short beach visit. The return trip was much smoother and after jumping back on the bus we were able to stop by a bbq joint for coconuts and fried stuffed empanadas.

You want to plan your trip as close to a new moon as possible as you want to eliminate as much light as possible to really see the glow. Annoyingly there is a neighborhood above the lagoon with bright spotlights but facing the water way and lingering near the other side of the lagoon the bioluminescence is still very visible and a total blast. The guides even brought us a tiny jellyfish to observe and see how it glowed as it wiggled in our hands. I wouldn't even bother bringing your phone, I highly doubt you'd be able to capture the glow while holding still enough in a kayak. Navigating the mangroves was tricky because the guides blue lights were just bright enough the destroy our night vision and not see the low hanging branches.
