I normally do not post reviews but this calls for it. My wife and I bought a Grand Design trailer just before Christmas. I have to say that the sales team made us feel welcomed, very knowledgeable about the trailer we were looking at and were never pushy. During the inspection prior to handover they found an issue with my slide out. I was contacted right away, given several options and they genuinely seemed concerned that I was ok with how it needed to be handled. Every person I have interacted with there from the GM, Sales Manager, Service Manager, Finance Managers and every sales person there have gone way over the top to be friendly and accommodating. If I could go less than 1 star, I would. Long story short, went to Sprads to purchase a travel trailer. Put down a deposit, and left with an uneasy feeling. Business manager said he would contact me with all info concerning the trailer ( you know, specs, lien holder info, etc). No response after a few days. When I spoke to him again, I was promised that the info would "be to you no later than two days from now". Surprise, Surprise, that two days came and went. And yet, no follow up. Meanwhile, they were still sitting with my deposit. I tried to give them money and buy from them! they just wouldn't follow up with me. Its too bad the salesman missed out on this commission. Its a shame that their sales depend on this business manager. So finally, after many weeks of waiting for something, anything at all, we decided to take our money elsewhere. Would never return there...even if they were the only trailer/rv place in all of Nevada. read more

i really enjoyed our transaction the trailer was clean and ready to go it was one year old and well taken care of. the sales staff were great and service did a fantastic job putting on airbags and hitch system on our ram 1500. it was ready as promised and set up to go. after two trips I realized the truck was over working but not a big deal. the unit is a joy to pull now that we got a 3500 which is bit overkill but will be ready when we purchase a bigger unit. we will go back again. I'm would never make slander comments online as they were nothing but professional for us. If i had a problem I would talk in person to resolve the issue, all business can make improvements and criticism is helpful but attacks are not valuable. read more

In early 2014 we had a warranty issue with a '13 Dutchmen Aspen Trail travel trailer that we owned (purchased at an out of state dealer). Sprads RV is the business that Dutchmen (the manufacturer of the trailer) told us to take the trailer to. After calling Sprads to arrange to have the warranty work done, Sprads told us the would charge us $200 just to look at the trailer and establish the work that needed to be done (it was a window recall that Dutchmen was aware of). This didn't sound right so I called Dutchmen and asked. Once Dutchmen Manufacturing was made aware of this they had the work done by a different dealer in town. read more

Worst Service department. Do NOT use at all costs. They will charge you for things you did not ask them to do and not find anything so they can charge you a service fee of $149/hr. Service manager did not know anything about our trailer that they sell there and insisted to me,"the customer" that I didn't understand what he was saying. Wow! Customer service for someone seriously looking for a RV was way poor. I was raced through the lot to look at one specific unit. When I mentioned the pace, I was told COVID was the reason. I get a 6ft difference but my kids were trailing 20ft behind and I'm a fast walker who couldn't keep up. Definitely had a feeling he wasn't interested in making another sale. read more

Saw a used diesel pusher for sale at Sprads. Went in and spoke with Kevin Edgett. He was super friendly, very helpful and professional. No pressure sales. My wife and I were pressed for time and told him we may come back. Meanwhile, he took our email and phone number and while we were gone, he emailed us more info about the RV. We told him that we were looking at another class A in California that was a little smaller which may suit our needs better. He offered to continue looking for the right RV if we needed him to. We wound up purchasing the RV in Cali and Kevin wished us luck. Excellent customer service from him and we didn't even buy anything! read more

All staff members are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with every question we had. Chris took the extra time out to test everything out before buying a 5th wheel. Terry worked with us to make sure we were able to bring that baby home. They aren't just a company looking to make a few bucks, but, rather, a business trying to make memories by providing each family with amazing deals. They want you to leave with a smile, and it shows. We started full-timing about a year ago and decided we needed a new trailer. We've travelled the country & stopped at multiple RV dealers along the way. We decided we wanted a Grand Design fifth wheel & when we walked into Sprad's we knew we found a dealership we wanted to do business with. We first talked to Josh who took his time showing us trailers & answering all of our questions. When we went back for a second look Josh was on his day off so he arranged for us to meet with Ben who also was extremely knowledgable & helpful. He let us look as long as we wanted and patiently answered all of our questions. We never felt rushed or pressured to make a purchase decision. We decided on a unit that day and the purchase process was very easy. We worked with Terry & Jason who took care of all the financial issues with our trade-in & purchase. Throughout the whole process we felt like the staff were there to help us through the entire purchase without any pressure. When we picked up the trailer the exterior had been washed & the interior thoroughly cleaned. Sprad's hires independent contractors to instruct new buyers on the operation of all the trailer components. Our guy was Tom and he spent over 2 hours with us going through the operation of all the trailer systems which is pretty extensive these days. He also took his time & answered all of our questions making sure we understood how everything worked. We really appreciate all the help we received from the entire staff at Sprad's and will definitely go back to them if we decide to buy another RV. Update: We are full-timing in the Reno area and after about a week we noticed we had some water dripping from the bottom of the trailer. We were concerned because of the low overnight temps so I called Andy and he gave me some areas to troubleshoot right away. We waited a couple of days and the drip continued so I called and talked to Elena who worked with the service manager to get us in the same day to have the problem checked out. She said that they might need it overnight depending on the problem but the technicians found a leaking connection at the back of the water heater and had the problem taken care of in just a few hours. Once again we are very impressed with all the staff at Sprad's and their commitment to customer satisfaction! read more

The service department is a problem at Sprads. Their hours are 8-5 M-F so it is very hard to bring in your trailer or RV. You are forced to take time off from work. Scheduling appointments is also very difficult. They answer telephone messages poorly and very delayed. They prefer email communication but these are also answered slowly and it is impossible to communicate a complicated problem by email. Our trailer that we bought there has had more than its share of problems and getting them repaired is far more difficult than I ever imagined. I advise caution when buying a trailer or RV from them. They like to sell, but not support their customers. I am updating my post. I now have 3 years experience with Sprads and there has been no improvement. I called in June to request service for a small pipe leak. They gave me an August appointment. Yesterday they cancelled my appointment because they are so backed up. They still haven't given me a new appointment but say probably the end of September!! I would not buy a trailer from this company. read more

Left a voicemail in the morning. That evening I made a website request for assistance. The next day I get a call back from the internet request (not from the voicemail) When I explained that my husband is 9 hours away from home and needed RV repair assistance I was told that their service department is too busy to help non-customers; so because we didn't buy our trailer from them they were not willing to help us. Let me start by saying, we did not purchase a trailer from Sprad's as we had hoped. My wife and I went in with our daughter looking to trade in our fifth wheel on a live-in style fifth wheel. We had our eyes on one specific unit that had unfortunately sold before we got there. Bummer. They did ask if we wanted to look at some others that were similar and even had great industry knowledge on the brands they offered. I know, you might think it is a given, but it wasn't at other dealers. The salesman, Ron, was very patient, and although new, quite helpful as well. He showed us MANY models to help us find one we might like. We ended up finding one that we liked better than the one we thought we wanted. We then worked with Terry to get the financing ironed out and the trade in included as well. As with any dealership I have been around (including working at one) the time spent at this stage was very lengthy! in their defense I believe they were short handed the day we went in and we were kind of asking for a lot. Unfortunately, the financing did not work at the terms we required at no fault of Terry's. They were still so helpful when it didn't work and tried their best to make it work for us. I am no fool and know it is in the company's best interest to make the sale. Where they won me over was the compassion and kindness ALL the way through. I can't speak as to the other negative reviews, and it is not my place. However, for my family and I, Sprad's is the best! Thank you! read more

I wish I could leave a better review, as the purchasing of our trailer was great. The salesman listened, he allowed us to look at multiple trailers multiple times, and was really patient with us and our 3 kids. However, that is where the pleasant experience stopped. When we came in to pick up our trailer, my husband found multiple issues during the walk through including missing parts which had been missed by the team. We took our trailer out for our first trip within a week, and the water heater doesn't work. We had no luck scheduling an appointment for repair and my husband was resigned to handling the issue himself. We eventually received a notice that there was a recall on our furnace and water heater (obviously not Sprad's fault). However, attempting to schedule an appointment to resolve this issue has been ridiculous. Zero email responses, zero call backs, sitting on hold for upwards of 20 minutes... just unacceptable. I understand it's the start of summer and multiple recalls are keeping them extremely busy. But a little communication with your customer goes a long way. read more

Ok, so I wrote a pretty scathing review and have decided to rescind said prior scathing review. Of course after a week of dickering and looking elsewhere, we all got what we wanted. We ended up with a year newer trailer and the financing we requested. Yes, you did repair the warped wall, however we brought it in last year because the fridge didn't stay cold, of course the week it spent here it worked fine, as soon as we got to the desert, everything was "cool" but nowhere near "cold" (we adjusted it every which way and still no bueno) to the point we were kind of afraid to eat anything that was in it. read more

This place is great during the sales process after that it is all down hill. The service dept. is not open on Saturday so if don't live in Reno or Sparks it's a nightmare. Recently, I inquired about an RV for sale, and rec'd a somewhat rude dismissal from the sales manager. Offended, I referred to the response as either rude, stupid or both. Unfortunately, I used the pejorative term "dickweed" in closing. The sales manager and I communicated, resolved the misunderstanding, mutual apologies issued and accepted, and the sale was back on track. THEN the owner gets involved, and after reading her responses in Yelp to the MYRIAD negative reviews, I understand her junior high mindset. This woman threatened me with disclosure to my employer that I used the term "dickweed". She is a vengeful, unhinged and completely out of control bag of vindictive hate. I will inform my supervisor of the use of "dickweed" to remove the power from your threat. Also, I will file charges with Washoe county over this attempted extortion, and have filed a complaint with the BBB. If the many, many negative reviews, and the hate-filled rants that the owner posts in response, have not convinced you to avoid this place, all I can do is wish you good luck. Great experience with our new RV purchase. As this was our first time buying a "new" rig we were fairly particular, our purchase and set up experience with the staff was better than expected. Thank you in particular to Mark and his crew for going above and beyond on the repair to our vehicle to ensure we had no problems towing our new rig. My husband and I went to Sprads to look at a specific model they had in stock, once there we worked with Will who was well informed on the brand of the trailer and the hitch system we would need as well. Will answered all of our questions and gave us time to really inspect the unit to ensure it was the right one for us. There was no pressure to buy that day which was a nice feeling to have when dealing with a salesperson. So far our experience has been very positive and we are looking forward to picking up our new trailer! read more

Well we were trying to bury the hatchet and give them a chance to make things right by fixing the multiple things that have broken on our trailer, note the list they posted. Plus honor the "guaranteed maintenance agreement" they gave us. But as unfortunately seems to be the case they do not stand behind their agreements or service. I took my trailer in last summer to have it inspected under the ridiculous warranty forever program. They said the toilet valve was bad and probably was due to it freezing. Told them it was in a heated garage all winter and maybe it was like that when I bought it from Sprads. They said it was within warranty. I came back later in the afternoon and they said they didn't fix it yet because they hadn't received approval from the warranty forever place. I told them I was planning to go camping that same day and was told it wouldn't take long to fix it. I was told to pay for it, they would reimburse once the warranty forever paid them. So I paid it. To this day I never received reimbursement because they never submitted the paperwork to warranty forever. When I got to my camp site that night I noticed someone had written across my back window, F - You. Also, about 3 months later I had a camp site with hook ups. I noticed at night that water was dripping inside the wall. I pulled off the plate that allows access to the inside wall and removed the gaskets (or whatever their called), took it to a different rv dealer and was told they had never seen gaskets that distorted when the trailer was only 2 years old! Don't go to this place. When I first purchased it from Sprads, the guy giving me the tour talked bad about the place and how it would be better to purchase parts from wal mart or some other place because the parts they have on hand are cheap. read more

Do to the horrible reviews but more the responses from management, we have decided to not even try buying with Sprads. We went to the lot approx 6 months ago and had a gentleman came from the office and quickly told us they were "kinda busy" but look around and let them know if we are interested. There were no other cars in their customer parking area. I don't begrudge someone eating there lunch while they approached us, but they never even checked on us after that. We could have driven one off the lot for all the attention they paid. No doubt, I will see a response, that I am a "competitor", but unfortunately for Sprads a competitor will see us. read more

I stopped by there to see their 5th wheels and travel trailers. Unsure of what we wanted, their staff was very professional AND helpful. While going over different floor plans with the salesman, Mark, the manager came out to thank us for shopping at Sprads. We visited other dealers in the area and didn't even get decent customer service from the sales staff, never met the manager, and needless to say weren't thanked for shopping there. GREAT EXPERIENCE! I am from out of town and am staying at a local RV Campground. I had a major problem with my black tank not be able to empty. I could not get a mobile service to come out to the CG so I figured I would try Sprads RV to see if they can help me with service. I called and Kent from the Parts Department took the call and I asked to be transferred to the service dept. He told me that he knew for a fact that the next available service appointment wouldn't be available for about 3 weeks and he asked me to tell him what my problem was and see if he can assist. I told him and he suggested I use the Flush King to reverse flush the tank. Now he could have easily transferred me to the service dept. and pawn me off to someone else but he took the time to assist and low and behold, that did the trick. Sure I had to buy the part from Sprads but it saved me a lot of money in the long run and Kent went over & beyond his scope of duty. I forever will remember Sprads. read more

Sprads is a Joke! Once the salesman knew we had bad credit, he told us all the trailers are open and left us on our own. They do not in anyway stand behind what they sell either. My friend bought from them and has multiple problems with his trailer and when reaching out to Sprads they say "we're not your secretary" Read the reviews people the management even gets hostile when they get bad reviews. Unprofessional and unsympathetic. Go somewhere else where they care. read more

WARNING! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. Below is my letter to the General Manager outlining what I went through and still unresolved. Their Service Department is the worst.Dear Mr. Magnacca: I am writing to inform you my recent purchase of the above cited travel trailer which has serious manufacture defects and poses a risk of health and safety to me and my family. Part of the defects first presented on our first camping trip in late May when the sliders would not function. We returned the coach to Sprad's RV and was told it was an "electrical" issue and was repaired. On July 30, 2017, we found that the battery was dead as we prepared to leave for a long planned camping trip. After using the manual crank to hook up the trailer to tow, we proceeded on our trip under the mistaken belief that the battery would recharge once we were hooked up to shore power. That did not happen and the coach reached an inside temperature of 109 degrees. From that point forward began a nightmare week for me and my guests. I have never encountered such poor service with any business in my life. During the entire episode that I will detail below, NEVER ONCE did anyone inform me that there was a 1-800 number to call for roadside service. DEFECTS KNOWN AT THIS TIME: * Faulty wiring * Converter (installed improperly) * 2 Batteries (will not take a charge) * Inconsistent power to all plugs in the coach * Misaligned crank hole for back slider * No access or hole for living room slider * GFCI malfunction * No manual ability to retract awning (without a professional) * Trim pulling away from coach * Cable and TV not functioning properly * Handle on black water tank is missing SERVICE ISSUES: * Monday 7/31/17 - Called Sprad's RV for help in excess of 10 times from 8:30 a.m. to after 5 p.m. o Could not reach or speak to a real person in service o Called main number and reached multiple sales persons who promised Service would return my call o Finally connected with Margo who informed me I had to bring the coach to them for repair. After informing her that we had no power to bring sliders and awning in, she said she would speak to "Mike". I also informed her the manual crank hole didn't align. (As did my son on our first electrical problem in May). This issue was never responded to by anyone. o Waited over 2 hours for a call back. o Called again and was told my name and number were at the top of the list. Spoke with Office Manager Juanita (who admitted she had been trying to avoid answering the phone) and informed her of my issues. She told me a story about her first camping trip and advised me to, "Lay back in a lounger and have a cocktail." o Waited another hour and called again. Salesman transferred me directly to Margo. o Margo walks me through what "Mike" told her to have me check. I did as instructed. No power, no results. Margo informed she would speak to "Mike" again. I asked to speak directly with "Mike" and was told he was out picking up tires or something and would call me back. o Waited another hour and called again. Was told Margo would call me back. o Margo eventually called back and told me to take a picture of the control panel and email it to her. I did so immediately. o Waited nearly 4 hours and no call back. o Called and spoke with "Josh" and repeated my story and he said he would transfer me to Margo. Call was dropped. o While holding for Margo, a voicemail was left by Margo at 4:30 p.m. indicating that she never received the photo. She waited 4 hours to inform me! (My email apparently wasn't working from my location). I call back and leave Margo a voicemail expressing my displeasure. o I call again and got "Josh" and expressed my displeasure. o "Mike" calls me at 4:45 p.m.! He walks me through taking off the panel to the converter and checking the fuses. They were blown. I told him the converter was extremely hot. He replied, "That's not good." At no time was I told this could be a dangerous situation for me and my guests to remain in the coach. He gave me directions to an auto store to buy new fuses, which I did. o I tried putting the new fuse in and it sparked and burned out the new fuse. Mike called back and said there was nothing further he could do over the phone. * Wednesday, August 2, 2017 o I drove from Lake Tahoe to Sprad's RV to see if I would be more successful in trying to get help if I went in person. I spoke with Josh who took me to a coach like mine to show me where to put the manual crank to bring the sliders in and risers up. o I made an appointment with Margo to bring the coach in on Friday. * Friday, August 4, 2017 o My son arrives to manually crank in the sliders, etc. He reminds me once again that the hole for the back-bedroom slider did not align. We had no choice but to cut into the siding to get the hand crank in properly. o We discovered that the living room slider had NO hole at all for access for the hand crank. Had 3 screws fall out of a sheet metal shield under our trailer (1995 Lance) which threatened to drag on the ground and stop our trip to Canada. We waited 20 minutes in the service dept for acknowledgement of our existence. Then were told it would be several weeks before they could spin in the three self tapping screws. All said with a smug and defiant tone. Upon asking if there was any other rv repair facility in town they mentioned Paramount down the street but most likely they wouldn't help us either. It was as if we had leprosy or something. Long story short we went to Paramount and the guy fixed it within 45 seconds of our arrival AND refused payment. If all of Lance's dealers were like these guys Lance would be out of business in short order. Edit: Contrary to Sprad's negative answer to this post....I am a 72 year old retiree, not a competitor. I waited 8 weeks to post this thinking I might see it differently. Every word is true. In fact it was worse than I wrote. read more

We bought an R-Pod trailer from Spad's on July 31st. Our salesman, Terry, was great. and the gentleman in the parts department stayed late so we could purchase a few items. Our first camping trip ended with the awning not retracting when we getting ready to leave. After several calls to Sprad's resulting in no help, we decided to remove the awning from the trailer. It took a few calls and an email in order to get in contact with Mark from the service dept. I thought that the service department being understaffed was a new event, but reading these reviews it seems to be an ongoing problem. The trailer has been in for service for nearly 3 weeks and we just received confirmation that the awning "should" be covered under warranty. That being said, they are asking that we pay $1,000 in the event that the awning isn't covered. We are hoping that this all turns out well and will complete the review once it all plays out. read more

I paid for the forever warranty. They require that I spend $150 each year to have the trailer inspected and any problems fixed. I did my part. Then on a trip up PCH I find that the electrical in the trailer isn't working. I scheduled an appointment for Sprads to check it our. However, they over booked and called me to reschedule. I did so. Then when I took the trailer in for an inspection they wanted $140n just to look at the trailer. They were the ones that installed the electrical in my vehicle. Are you kidding me? I asked for the fastest way out of there. And I explained that if I have an accident due to a faulty trailer brake, I would be filing legal action. I am in search of another dealer that will uphold the warranty. read more

I've read many of these reviews of your dealership from customers. I didn't read these for any reason other than curiosity. I came upon these reviews today while looking for reviews on RV mobile repair places. We purchased a travel trailer from you last year. Salesman was pretty good, but we haven't had great luck with service either. Not to say, it was bad, just that we were told that the RV would have to be in the shop for two weeks to get a NEW chair arm fixed (broke from the start). This was warranty work last year. Due to the fact that my husband was living in it while waiting for a job transfer, he couldn't leave it that long so the warranty ran out and repairs never made. Seems silly to have it that long but then, I'm sure there were a lot of repairs ahead of us. In reading people's comments and Laura's response to them, I have to say Laura you are very reactive and over protective of your employees or co-workers. A business should not respond in such a snotty, condescending manner to customers. What happened to "the customer is always right?" True, they aren't always nice, and anyone who's ever worked with the public knows, people can be annoying and rude. However, aside from the vulgar and violent ones, just don't strike back. Be humble and honest, and let the rest go. My two cents. :) read more
