I went into Spotlight the other day to quickly grab a couple of things for dancing (costume). Haha, a quick trip to Spotlight - yeah right....! I always get distracted by..... pretty much everything! Anyway, I picked up a nice queen size doona cover set that was on sale for $40, woot woot!
After browsing through many more aisles I hadn't planned to visit, I ended up finding the glue on gems for the earrings I wanted to make for the competition on the weekend. Howeverrrrr, when I went to the jewellery-making bits 'n' pieces section, there were NO STUD POSTS!!! Argh, stress! Actually, there were quite a lot of their jewellery-making products out of stock!
I hunted down a staff member to ask if they'd possibly have anymore in stock out back. She checked and the system said there should be some on the shelves...... Yeah, nah. She was rather helpful though and called the Springfield store to see if they had any, which apparently they should have according to the system, but they couldn't find them... Hmm, I think there's something up with their "system". She took my name and number and said they'd call me the next day after they'd had a thorough search. No call was ever received. Never mind though, I called my trusty mother who lives in Carindale and likes to shop. She soon hunted down a pack of like, 100 studs for bugger all for me, which I picked up from her that night after my dance lesson :)
Back to Spotlight though. Got to the checkout with my couple of items (I was the only person at the checkout) and the young man who served me obviously wasn't familiar with the concept of customer service. I asked if they accepted Visa gift cards (most places do) and he said "Nah, I don't think so...". I said ok, well I'll give it a go. It didn't work. I asked if I could try again to be sure. Nope. Oh well... If I was him I would have apologized for the inconvenience (even if it wasn't my fault) and asked if I could pay via another method. Nope. He just looked at me blankly. I paid using my bank card and left feeling quite uninspired. read more
