Sportsworld has been a fixture of the town centre for, well, as long as I can remember really! It is on the corner opposite superdrug so you can't miss it. Unfortunately it has been going down hill for many years now. It used to be full of sports clothes, bags, fishing tackle, golf clubs and lots of other sports items but over the years the stock has dwindled and is not as good as it once was. Sportsworld in Stornoway is right at the crossroads of the pedestrianised area. Over two small floors the shop stocks a wide range of fishing tackle and quipment as well as a smaller range of sportswear, football strips and memorabillia, trainers and sports equipment. The staff are always helpful but the range of stock apart from fishing stuff is quite small and sometimes prices can be a bit on the high side - but it's always worth a look as there are some bargains to be had. More stock is carried at the busier Back to School and Christmas times. read more
