Second of all - I had no idea what to expect when I walked in to get a haircut. I keep my hair short. So I asked for a fade, and the nice young lady says "No problem!" She trims my hair up, and then rubs my scalp down with a menthol lotion to get the hair to stand up, and trims it up again. Whoa. Never had that done before. And all for $15. Plus a tip, because after a scalp massage and perfect haircut, you have to leave a tip. You just do.

She didn't even apologize or anything for running late. She didn't even acknowledge that I had been waiting for her tbh. She spent time looking for her tools before she started my pedicure; she was clearly not prepared for my appointment. There was no way of drying my nails other than air drying, and she basically kicked me out of the chair after waiting ten minutes. She insisted that it would be fine if I put on my socks and shoes. Of course my pedicure was smudged by the time I got home. Most places have those flimsy disposable flip flops, so those would have been nice and would have helped me avoid the pedicure smudging. They didn't have them here.

While rolling through Vicksburg, Mississippi I searched and found Headquarters Barber & Salon. Very spacious barber shop on one side and salon on the other. I was welcomed as I entered the facility and noticed they had patrons awaiting their cuts so definitely has the clientele of a trusted business. There were 5 barbers working and other open booths so very well staffed. I waited about an hour after signing in which is typical for a busy shop with multiple barbers. I received a taper fade and beard edge-up, which was done with care. Very pleased with the results and will be returning when my travels bring me back to Vicksburg.
