Traditional American coffee shop. Low price price and attentive service. I had a fillet of sole which is quite good.

I've never had an issue with any Spire's. They offer weekly specials and their food is good. The biggest unfortunate thing is the pricing has definitely gone up a lot (which is common) and their portions have got smaller (which is common). I went a lot to another location before since the hours were different and it was closer before it closed down. With the pricing and portion size, this location sadly isn't worth the drive.

First time going here, but unfortunately I don't think I'll return. It does t take much to impress me when it comes to food, but I was definitely disappointed during this visit. I had the fillet of sole with fries. I figured it's one of the favorites since it was advertised on the window. The fish tasted funny- like it's a frozen fillet, and the fries were soggy when I asked for it to be extra crispy. The place is reeking with floor cleaner, which smells like a county building. The service also wasn't great, the girl didn't get my order right and forgot to return with condiments. I did like the dessert (rice pudding). Please step up your game! I know you guys have been around for a while, and I'd like to see old fashioned businesses stay in business!

Our waitress was awesome. She was extremely attentive and patient. I wish it were possible to rate the service separately because I'd totally give her 5 stars. Everyone had a really pleasant, welcoming attitude. The problem is this place is disgusting!!! Everything is dirty. Most of the napkins we were giving had random food stains. The table had unidentifiable waste in the cracks. The salt and pepper shakers were stained with food partials of prior patrons. It was just really uncomfortable, and I was hesitant to eat at all. Surprisingly, the chicken was actually pretty tasty. The wing was overcooked, and all had feathers, but the other pieces were perfect. The coffee was also surprisingly delicious. Everything else taste like a frozen meal.

It is Sunday 6/7. I am seeing dining rooms open at many restaurants including Denny's. Is this store's dining room open yet?

Not yet since I went there Saturday, June 6th. Sign says pickup only. Although, I've seen two men there each time I've picked up breakfast. Maybe they're the owners?

Aragon House Cafe is located on the corner of Clark Ave and Rose St, across the street from the liquor store. It's a small location and can be easy to miss. They have a small lot behind them of about 3-6 spots so you may need to grab street parking. Walking up to the cafe, they have an open window for to-go orders and the front door right next to it. As I mentioned, it's small; with about 6-8 tables. We decided to go on a Sunday around 10:15am (they have Yelp Reservations but it was empty at the time we arrived). There is a single use gender neutral restroom near the back as well. Marisol, helped us as well as the rest of the tables. The space began to fill which I told her is always a good sign. We started off with two cafe de olla, which if you aren't familiar is Mexican coffee and if available get over plain black coffee. It was the right amount of sweetness and fresh. For food, we wanted something sweet and an egg dish and we couldn't decide. I mentioned all the pancake flavors looked good and Marisol said that they were able to do different flavors instead of one flavor for a stack so we decided with the Matcha and Coffee pancake. For our savory dish we went with their Chilaquiles and added chicken. The pancakes were delicious. They had height to them and weren't dense, but a nice fluffiness. Both served with fresh whipped cream, and one with a matcha sauce, the other a coffee saucse, and berries. The matcha pancake was light and had a mild matcha flavor, we added a little syrup to it but it was so good. My favorite was the coffee pancake; it had pronounced coffee flavor throughout, and the sauce made it even better, no syrup needed. The Chilauiles were delicious as well, we got our eggs scrambled so our was topped with it. The chips were tossed in a spicy red sauce but had their crispiness intact, chicken was cubed and not dry, the eggs were scrambled just right as well. We polished that plate. The food here was amazing, and Marisol was a delight in serving us. Check this out if you're ever in the Bellflower area. The food items we got were amazing, but I imagine, as Marisol mentioned to us, all of their food items are good. Will def be back!

The cafe itself has a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly, so I definitely wanted to like it more than I did. Unfortunately, the food was pretty lackluster for the price and the hype. Nothing tasted terrible, but nothing really stood out either. What really threw us off was when my friend's omelette came out with what looked like a Kraft Singles slice melted on top. At a cafe trying to have a more elevated brunch vibe, that just felt cheap and disappointing. Overall, I still appreciate having places like this in the area and maybe we just caught them on an off day, but the food quality didn't really match the experience we were hoping for.

One visit we waited over 40 minutes without being acknowledged, another time our order came out wrong, and another time the food arrived cold like it had been sitting for quite a while. Because of that, I honestly did not want to come back tonight. But I was craving a good steak, and after my husband suggested giving 908 another try, I reluctantly agreed. I noticed the filet mignon on the menu paired with broccolini and decided to go for it. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt completely different. The hostess was warm and welcoming and seated us immediately. A young man came over right away with waters and took our drink order, which already surprised us in the best way. Then Alex S came to our table, and he truly made the night exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful in making sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. I mentioned that I didn't want a large piece of butter melting over the steak, and he happily accommodated that request. He even checked on the exact ounce size of the filet for me, which I appreciated. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and honestly, they were the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had. Perfectly cooked, not drowning in sauce, and absolutely packed with flavor. My 8 oz filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The broccolini was crisp, fresh, and not overly oily. Everything tasted thoughtful, balanced, and worth every dollar. Most importantly, Alex S delivered spectacular service from start to finish. We were genuinely shocked to learn this was his first night shift because he handled the dining room with professionalism, warmth, and confidence far beyond what we expected. Thank you, Alex S, for completely changing our impression of 908. Tonight's experience was excellent, and for the first time, we are actually excited to come back. Thanks again, Jed Dornoff

The chilaquiles verde was savory and tangy. It wasn't soggy at all and definitely one of my favorite dishes. The short rib omelette was savory but didn't give me any wow factor compared to the other dishes I ordered. The tropical pancakes were so pretty. I only tried a piece of it without the syrup which I think was a mistake because the kumquat syrup was my friend's favorite. I definitely need to try it again with the syrup. Poached Neighborhood Kitchen presents itself as the kind of elevated brunch destination that…read morepromises thoughtful execution and a polished dining experience. Unfortunately, the reality falls noticeably short of that expectation. While the food itself is serviceable, it never rises beyond what you might expect from a standard at-home breakfast spread. Nothing on the table felt particularly memorable, inventive, or worth returning for. The biggest disappointment came in the details, but really lack thereof. The fruit served alongside the meal had the unmistakable appearance and texture of pre-packaged, bulk-distributed produce, lacking the freshness and vibrancy you would hope for from a restaurant positioning itself as a neighborhood kitchen. It gave more cafeteria than curated brunch. Service also struggled to meet even basic hospitality standards. Water refills required repeated attempts to get someone's attention, and neighboring tables were similarly left flagging down staff for utensils and tableware. Once the order was placed and food delivered, attentiveness seemed to disappear almost entirely. I'm not sure where the standard is set.. Given the location and atmosphere, there's an expectation of a more refined and welcoming experience, but the execution never quite supports the price point or reputation. If you do visit, avoid outdoor seating unless you're prepared for an even more disconnected service experience. Ultimately, there are far better places to spend your brunch budget. Especially when this is the kind of meal many could comfortably recreate at home with fresher ingredients and more care. If you're going to have competitive price points for these meals they should at least match.
