Quick easy process to sign up and sign waiver online. When I arrived, Chantel, the teacher greeted me at the entrance and checked me in. It didn't look like the information was received on her end, but it was again, a quick easy process. After paperwork and payment, she guided me back to the studio. It appeared to be a maze through another studio with curtains surrounding the workout floor and through another with a curtain. This was a smaller studio with about 8 infrared heating elements around the perimeter. There were only three students, including me. Chantel is in incredible shape and she led her class in a way that resembles that. Although I've taken hot yoga classes before within this lineage, she strayed a bit from the normal routine and it pressed me to work harder than I had in the past. Luckily, I survived! She very much tailored the class to the participants, which was very cool. This is a really cool studio with multiple areas for exercise and even a tatoo shop in the back! The approach to yoga that Satyam and Abhaya offered enabled me to be present and respect my body as I learned and practiced yoga. Both teachers are passionate and devoted yogis and model this in all aspects of their teachings while also being very funny and warm During the training, my days were well structured and filled with meditation, seva, yoga classes, yoga workshops, anatomy and philosophy. I also had several opportunities to teach during my training. With the support of Satyam, Abhaya and the other students, I developed confidence in my ability to teach yoga. The community of students, teachers and volunteers was warm and inclusive. Our group bonded over yoga, conversations and many fun activities. Satyam and Abhaya provided opportunities for us to get creative and make local Hawaiian crafts and take ukulele lesson. They also took us on field trips to the beach and hiking in the forest. The food was delicious and nutritive and eaten as a group. Meals were a great opportunity to share recipes and stories. Now that I have completed the program, I am enjoying a yoga and meditation practice that is creative and respectful for me and my future students. It completely changed the way I look at yoga, at my practice and at my teaching in ways I couldn't have imagined. The training combines anatomy, physiology, yoga and spirituality into a something so meaningful. Abhaya and Satyam are amazing teachers - they know and live what they teach and bring a serious but light hearted presence to the practice. Since then, it has become one of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in Kona. The studio is small, intimate, clean, peaceful, and has such a sweet, calming atmosphere. I've enjoyed every class I've taken, and the instructors are wonderful -- welcoming, knowledgeable, and each bringing their own special energy. There was a change in ownership this year, and I really feel the management has improved. Last year there were quite a few last-minute class cancellations, which could be frustrating. But when I stayed in Kona for the entire month of July this year, I didn't experience a single cancellation. Everything felt much more consistent and organized, and somehow the overall vibe of the studio felt even better. Yoga Nest feels like a little sanctuary in Kona. I'm already looking forward to going back when I return to the island! ‍

The class was pretty full and it probably got up to as high as 105 degrees inside. Each area has their own personal heater that has different heat levels which is nice.
