Signing waivers online in seconds, we each paid $55 for three races, a head sock (required if you use their helmets), and tax. Each race is 6-7 minutes and most of us did laps around 30 seconds. After watching a safety video about how to not die by crashing into sharp corners, we loaded up and raced! The course is two levels and fun! Even though other groups were there, we only had to wait 10 minutes or so in between races. The staff were helpful and kept us all safe!

Checked out Terra Firma Bouldering with my fam. My little brother has a membership here and really…read moreenjoys it. This was my first visit, and it's $18 for a day pass. They have shoe and chalk rental options( but we brought our own. The staff was friendly and gave us a safety debrief and rundown of the space. It's designed super uniquely and has the various walls setup almost in a giant circle and an upstairs section. Their grading scale is based on a range (example: Pink is V0-V2, then blue is V3-V4 - I don't know if that's exactly what they had, but you get the idea), They had some fun route setting, but nothing that super stood out, and a lot of it felt similar. It's a growing community in GR though, so definitely seems like a great addition and very welcomed for local climbers. The space was bright, clean and they offered a hand washing sink along with ample cubbies for storage along every section. I definitely look forward to returning in the future and had fun checking it out.

Luton Park is mainly a mountain bike park with lots of winding trails and paths but my boyfriend…read moreand I managed to get a really nice hike in since he only has a road bike. The trail map is pretty clear with different levels of intensity and the trail we were on was clearly marked. I believe the trails are about 9 miles total. Note that the paths are very uneven in some spots so it's not the best for those with limited mobility. All the bikers we encountered were super friendly and appreciative when we stepped off the trail to let them pass by. Be on the lookout for bikes as they can get going pretty quick here! We saw a couple other people walking their dogs and enjoying some unseasonably warm weather last fall. There is a restroom facility but it looked to be closed while we were there - for construction, COVID times, or maybe both. There is ample parking and the park itself is easy to find using a map and the entrance is clearly marked. The views last November weren't that pretty, but it was nice to get outside and I think it would be really peaceful and beautiful to check out in the late spring, aka now. We made a night of it by ordering some burgers from Bridge Street Burger Shack for pickup after our hike - definitely would do that again!

I finally made it to the GRR airport viewing park! I've known about it for a while and we recently…read moremet up with our friend and his 4 year old to have lunch and watch the planes. The park is located off Kraft Ave, just south of the airport. It was recently renovated, with a big shaded pavilion, picnic tables, benches, restroom facilities, drinking fountain with a water bottle filler, and the weirdest vending machine I've ever seen. (It had sippy cups, baby bottles, wipes, and a video doorbell in it...??) There is a ton of parking, so you can just drive up and sit in your car to watch the action, or you can do what we did and bring a picnic lunch and sit at a table in the shade. There are some grassy areas where kids can run around too. It was very quiet and peaceful when we were there (aka not crowded), but in the summer they have food trucks every Wednesday and apparently it gets really busy then. I thought this place would be really fun for our little buddy (and it was), but I honestly had quite a bit of fun watching all the different planes taking off and landing. Next time I'd bring a pair of binoculars!
