Oh my... I drafted this review time ago and forgot to submit it.. Here it goes…read more. Salon du Chocolat is an yearly Chocolate Fare happening at Messe Zurich (started in 2012 though). Big chocolate brands (such as Sprungli or Ladarach) and many others come there and expose their products. If you are a chocolate fan, it's worth paying the 18 CHF ticket price and tasting different chocolates. Very important: bring a bottle of water with you, else you'll soon become saturated and won't be able to enjoy it for as long as you'll want :D Also, it's a great place for buying special presents, as it has many different types of chocolate you've never ever thought of before :) I don't give it full 5 stars because I'm thinking they could make some effort in improving the overall facilities of the exposition space.. such as adding some points of refreshment selling or some seats here and there.. it usually becomes tiring just walking around after 1 hour.

Every item was carefully chosen, high quality, not always easily found everywhere and most importantly tastes great!! You can get information about food but also you can buy it at the event. Each wine booth had at least 5-10 kinds of wine and this wine tasting itself would be worth for the ticket. Then there was truffle cheese... omg.. so good. Espresso/coffee booth offered free espresso or cappuccino. Many different kinds of olive oil and balsamic/fruit vinegar. Also cooking demo and cookbooks for sale. You can find fondue samples before buying fondue cheese. The event was held in two entire floors. This is a great event to learn more about good food, Swiss food and also gourmet food. Highly recommended!!!

The SlowFood Market is a wonderful event in Zurich. Different local and regional (Germany, Italy,…read moreFrance, Austria) producers show off their foodstuffs that is made in the philosophy of the SlowFood movement. It's held in the Halle 9 of the Messe Zentrum, Zurich. While the venue is large enough to hold everyone, it's very crowded. As it should be a market, I would suggest holding it earlier in the autumn - end of September - and outside. I would also like to see a restaurant area featuring local chefs cooking meals with the products available at the market. Visitors should also bring cash as most if not all vendors do not accept credit or debit cards. I hope this event and movement continues to find traction in Switzerland and around the world. It's definitely something to bring children to and start educating them early about the importance of good nutrition.

Located in the basement of a fancy Swiss watch store, this museum delivers a lot of information for being so small. You enter and get an iPad after you put your coat in a locker. You then enter in the number of a clock to read more about the piece, and in some instances, you can click the video to hear the chimes.

A few tips and tricks for those visiting: They ask you leave your backpacks and purses downstairs in the provided lockers. The elevator system isn't great, and will always stop at the lobby, no matter what you push, so it's a time consuming process to use it. The restrooms look like they should be pull doors, but they're actually push. It's the oddest thing and the honey and I were both tripped up by it. Overall, we both really enjoyed the museum, much more than the famous Prado, and would highly recommend stopping in if you're visiting Zurich, especially if it happens to be a Wednesday.

It is free on Wednesdays, but that does not include entry to special exhibitions. What makes things worse is that roughly half the collection is currently closed due to a fire. So you're just left with Impressionism and newer stuff. The Impressionist collection is decent at least.
