Luckily we were able to get the table and the server soon went and got the manager because the server did not speak English but the manager did. Inside the restaurant had a large wood burning ceramic oven near the center of the room and tables that had both like sitting on the interior and chairs on the exterior. The tables were a blond wood and there were pink tablecloth's with white napkins. It was a very pleasant atmosphere inside the restaurant and cool. It's also nice because indoors there's no smoking and you can't get away from the smokers on the patios in Europe. We asked if they had any Sauvignon Blanc or a Gruner Veltliner and although they did not she offered to bring over a sample of a wine she thought we would like that was close to those. She sat down next to us and helped us with our order and she was very friendly and joking a lot with a table full of older gentleman near us. It was nice to see the rapport between all of them. Because I had had such a great experience the night before at another restaurant I ordered the veal with a mushroom cream sauce and a side dish of rosti potatoes that were not offered with that dish but she made the substitution for me. My better half got schnitzel and fries once again! Both were delicious, although my veal with mushroom sauce was more satisfying. It also came with a salad which was large enough to share as a starter with some shredded carrots that had been pickled and spiced and also some shredded turnips and beets. It had a nice light almost buttermilk ranch type of dressing, but lighter than that. For dessert we mistakenly ordered three scoops of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. We thought we were getting one! The ice cream itself had almost a rum like flavor. It was very tasty and several fin wafer cookies accompanied the dish. We would highly recommend this for those who want local flair and a good meal at a reasonable price.

I would say that this is the best little restaurant with the best price in the entire 5 Seeland…read moredistrict. (In english 5 Seeland is 5 Lake District just in case you didn't know) The staff is very friendly, the food is amazing and fresh, they serve Andechs beer, and they speak good English. What else could you ask for??? Hahaha (I spoke in german to them as much as I could and they actually understood me). I've only been living her for about 6 months so yes; I'm proud of my german language skillz. As long as you try a little german the locals will love you for it even if they don't necessarily show it sometimes, if you know what I mean. ;). Anyways, as I was saying the food is just great as well as the ambiance of the place. My 5 year old son had the Käsespatzen (small noodles with cheese and roasted onions... Yummy) he just loves that stuff. My wife and I had the Ziegenkäse salad (goat cheese with salad on the side). Don't be fooled. This is more than just you typical cheese and salad type of a meal. It is specifically prepared Bavarian style where the cheese is baked in a wooden oven giving it a warm and soft taste making your taste buds go wild. Hope this helps someone make a decision on this authentic little Bavarian guest house.
