Poor quality, overpriced, long wait. -The Romano salad was ok, we requested it split it came out on one plate. A place with good service would have split it. - The $28 "family style" mussels had mostly broken shells and about a third of them were empty shells with no mussels to be found - While I understand it good food takes time to prepare, a 35-40 min wait time for our entrees is excessive. - My wife's shrimp was ok, but the risotto had so much cream it was almost inedible - The bolognese sauce was pink because it had so much cream in it and tasted terrible because that isn't how you are supposed to make that sauce. -I requested one serving of plain pasta for the kids, very small portions came out on two plates and we were charged $18 for two servings that would barely be enough for a single entree. read more

Cute dinner spot in SH! Gnocchi is made in house and it was really good. Loved that the food wasn't too salty compare to usual Italian dinner spots, it was just right. Place is BYOB so don't forget your favorite wines. Staff is friendly, could use more training and serving techniques (Poured our own wine and water). Which was fine but being that I worked in the service industry I might just notice the little things that could enhance a diners experience. "You give me powders, pills, baths, injections, enemas - when all I need is love." Generally I'm not a fan of restaurants in this area. They have a captive audience, low expectations and transient, inexperienced wait staff. It's usually more of a rote restaurant. What I like about this place is that they seem to definitely care --- from the greeting when you walk-in, table settings, attitude of the wait staff, to the preparation of the food. The kitchen is definitely not warming up/defrosting/recycling things --- it's all made when you order. Having eaten at some many places that want to "turn the tables" and make "factory food", this is welcome change. Yes, I've eaten at better places in NYC or San Francisco, but the food is pretty authentic representative of classic Italian cuisine. Tips: 1. It's BYOB, so bring your own. Or plan to dash out to Fred's Tavern a few blocks away in the middle of dinner. 2. Appetizers: The Burrata, rice balls and mussels were superb. Eggplant rollatini was a bit dry and Frito misto was average. 3. Pasta: most, if not all fresh made. Some of which are oddly paired, so you might want to switch pasta/sauce combinations. Rigatoni is good, but heavy in summer. 4. Mains: Branzino, Cioppino were really good. Simple, but very flavorful and hearty portions. 5. Specials: Scallops truffle risotto was down to the ceramic, plate cleaned. 6. Desserts: Tiramisu and cheesecake were both very good. 6. It's made for a long leisurely dinner. I wouldn't come here if you are in a hurry. The decor is also open and a notch above the typical places in this area. I know there are a lot of mixed reviews from my fellow Yelpers, but this is definitely a place I'd make a stop at during a vacation down the shore. read more

Good food and great service! What more can you ask for? From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were greeted warmly by Marc, the owner, who gave us a brief history in his restaurant. He was so personable and likable, we felt completely welcomed and appreciated as patrons. For appetizers we had the calamari, the burrata, and the antipasti. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. I especially liked the grilled calamari which was tender yet had a crisp bite. There was no breading which is different from most other places which disguise the flavor of the calamari with heavy breading. The burrata was especially delightful, as the mozzarella was homemade and tasted very fresh. I've never had anything like it before. I ordered the chicken parmigiana for my entree which was served with spaghetti with marinara sauce. The marinara was superb! Just the right amount of sweet and tangy flavor. It was thick but not overly so. The chicken parm itself was a little overcooked for my taste but I still enjoyed it. Overall, everyone was satisfied with their dishes. I am incredibly surprised that this restaurant is rated 3 1/2 stars. This is without question a 5 star caliber Italian restaurant. This is my second time dining here, and everything I have eaten has been authentically good. Great local restaurant and I highly recommend trying it out. Spiaggetta is a very special place! Each dish is created and crafted with such care which is clear in the from the presentation through to the taste. Beyond this it is amazing that they are able to provide gluten free pasta and a wide range of other options to accommodate all! Had a really nice experience here this past weekend! We started with the mussels app..lots of mussels and they were not small either. For dinner, I had a gnocchi special with walnuts and rosemary in a cream sauce. It was delicious. The rest of the table had the Papalina, the Adriatica and gnocchi in a marinara sauce. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in stone harbor Avalon the wildwoods and cape may. Marco the owner is very accommodating and friendly. Always makes you feel welcomed. Food was good. But Michael our server was not consistent in attentiveness because he didn't offer us ground pepper nor did he pour our wine into our glasses. But he was all over the young couple seaTed next to us. Michael almost rushed us out the door, and kept circling for the cc payment. Plus, Marco, who owns the restaurant, you should greet EACH TABLE LIKE THEY MATTER, not select tables. You made us feel like we didn't count! You never know who is who in this small town, and who knows whom! It won't be forgotten, believe me. We always enjoy our visits to Spiaggetta! Marco and staff are always so welcoming for the family and especially our kids. When my girls were little and some other restaurants in the area were not so kid friendly, we could always count on Spiaggetta to feel like family. Make sure to order the homemade pasta or gnocchi. We held our rehearsal dinner here with friends and family the night before our wedding at The Reeds and it was absolute perfection! Marco was a pleasure to work with and the wait staff was kinda and accommodating. We had beer and wine dropped off earlier and they displayed it beautifully, plus the candles all around the restaurant made the ambiance perfect. Could not recommended this establishment more! We would love to have dinner here again when we come back to Stone Harbor! read more

They have done a nice job with the outside seating and it is comfortable. Our appetizer was great, and three of four meals were good. One meal, Veal Parm, tasted like the veal was cooked in rancid oil. The waiter wasn't very friendly, and seemed annoyed if we asked for extra sauce or grated cheese. I've tried this place a couple of times before, always with the same result. Not planning on going back and wouldn't recommend. read more

We had a 6pm reservation this evening. Certainly don't want to be critical during these challenging times but the pasta entrees we had were not good at all. We had the artichoke and the caprese salad as appetizers which were fine. But both our pastas (Casio e Pepe and Rigatoni Amtriciana) were so mediocre that we couldn't eat them. Despite the fact that it was clear we had not touched our entrees, our server did not ask if there was something wrong with our meal. She simply cleared our plates... We paid for our check and went across the street for a slice of pizza... I would not recommend this place. Not worth paying over $100 for two in a BYO restaurant if the food is not good. read more

Spiaggetta is a great place to get the whole family together for a meal in Stone Harbor. The space is very large and lends to large, family-style meals. Our server was incredibly friendly and accommodating to our group- she made us feel right at home. The kitchen can also accommodate substitutions and custom orders, which is a plus (especially when dining with young children)! We tried the arancini (rice balls), risotto pescatora, afredo with shrimp, and gnocchi with red marinara sauce (it is listed with a bolognese sauce on the menu). We had been to this restaurant a few years ago and it was wonderful. We went tonight and not only was the service terrible but the food was awful and not like how it used to be. My 4 year old had penne with marinara and they gave him a spicy tomato sauce! They replaced it and the sauce tasted like it came from a jar. We ordered the zucchini blossoms and the batter was so thick that that was all you could taste...and they were cold in the middle. My other child's pasta had so much garlic in it he couldn't eat it. They also didn't offer any grated cheese and 5 of us ordered pasta dishes. When the waiter came to bring our entree he didn't clear our appetizer plates. We called last minute for a party of 9 and they were accommodating. 4 adults and 5 kids. They were also attentive and interacted with the kids. We got the Brussels spout appetizer special and it was delicious. My daughter loves gnocchi which isn't on the menu but he made it special for her. Some kids got the kids meal meatball with spaghetti and said it was really good. Lots of desserts and coffee. Each was really tasty. I hope they have a great season. Best thing about this place is the BYOB. Food-Way overpriced. 95% sure the pasta is not homemade. Typical stone harbor mark up. The signature pappardelle spiaggetta ($27) was supposed to be served "Cacio Pepe". It was really just cheese and olive oil, instead of the carefully heated classic butter Parmesan blend. It had a dozen or so TINY salad shrimp tossed in with a few dozen WHOLE black peppercorns which were impossible to chew. Probably 6oz of pasta. Get some real shrimp, we're at the shore! It was blah.. We also got the fettuccini in the blush sauce..pala something ($27) It was just ok. Nothing special at all. Double espresso- $6.25.. This place is busy bc of the shore masses, not because it's special. For what they charge for bread and pasta you'd expect to be wowed with special technique or ingredients or SOMETHING...We weren't. read more

Wife's wedding soup, carrots were raw and the was no pasta, really? Chicken Parm sauce was watery and burnt. Breaded skin was soggy. Again, had to ask for pepper and extra parmesan cheese. We had our rehearsal dinner at Spiaggetta a week ago and I have to say that Marco and his staff were great to work with. Leading up to the dinner he made sure that all of our needs were addressed and we were able to plan for a great night without any worries. Marco constantly made sure that our needs were taken care of throughout the night as well. The food was very good and the service was great. If anyone is planning on getting married in the Stone Harbor or Avalon area we would 100% recommend Spiaggetta for your rehearsal dinner! read more

Great spot! Came here with some girlfriends for my birthday and server Mike F made the experience amazing! My friend has some allergies and the entire staff from Mike to Chef Rob to the Owners made sure everything was perfect!! Cannot say enough about this place. Exceptional. Feels very much like family.
