I DO NOT recommend working with this law firm based on my recent experience.
I paid the requested $2,000 fee seven days prior to my scheduled court date. The day before court, I was contacted and told I needed to meet with the attorney. However, when I arrived at court, my attorney was not present. The court officer stated they would allow until 8:45 a.m. for him to arrive. He did not appear, and I proceeded to meet with the judge alone. I was given a new court date and concluded my appearance before 9:00 a.m.
After leaving the courthouse, I contacted the office and was told by the secretary that the attorney had been present, which was not accurate. I then reached out to the paralegal I had been communicating with, Brenda. When she responded, she asked whether I had met with the attorney. I informed her that I had not and advised her of my next court date, March 17th, which is also when my next payment would be due. I stated clearly that I would not be making an additional payment until after that court date, as I needed assurance that the attorney would appear and provide the services for which I had paid.
My follow-up messages requesting clarification went unanswered.
The following day, I received a call from Jean Sperling, who explained that the attorney had arrived late due to needing to drop his children off at school. While I understand that personal matters arise, my concern was the lack of communication. I asked why I had not received a courtesy call informing me of the delay. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, I was interrupted and told I was being "inhumane." The conversation escalated, and he began yelling at me.
During the call, I was asked whether I was a U.S. citizen and who had referred me to the firm. It was further suggested that if I were an immigrant and he chose to drop me as a client, I could face serious consequences. I found these remarks inappropriate, unnecessary, and deeply concerning.
Overall, my experience with this firm was marked by poor communication, lack of professionalism, and disrespectful conduct. Given the seriousness of legal representation and what is at stake for clients, I cannot recommend retaining this office. read more
