The personal attention and expert handling of my audit was impressive. The above was posted as my initial Google review for Henderson Accounting which also provides services as Expert Tax Solutions of the Carolinas. Fast forward to January 30, 2017. I received a letter from Wyatt Henderson stating that his firm was disengaging its services from our personal and business accounting effective December 31, 2016. I wrote an email to ask why, and his response was that our business wasn't profitable enough for his firm to maintain, since they had "8 new clients waiting to hear if we will take them on." and they were "running at 110% of capacity" Wyatt, perhaps a 90 day advance notice would be a much more professional way to handle future "disengagements". Now I'm hustling to find a new accounting firm at the worst possible time on the tax calendar, not to mention a new payroll provider. New clients considering Expert Tax Solutions beware. Edit: I had place a review of this business on Google as well as Yelp. The owner response on Google was less than truthful; here's his actual quote from the "disengagement" email: "every year I go thru my client list and use the 80/20 rule to carve out those clients to that I need to examine for profitability, realization rate and overall fit within my firm. Eastside Chiropractic did not hit our realization rate threshold for 2016. Realization is the amount of total revenue realized from a client in a year divided by the total time committed to that client. Any client that does not meet the established dollar per hour threshold is identified for either disengagement or a rate increase. Since we are running at 110% capacity and I have 8 new clients waiting to hear if we will take them on, I decided it was best to disengage. This is purely a business decision and not personal. We have a set amount time available each week to service clients and I must maximize the dollars per hour realized." New clients beware of this practitioner.

I enjoyed conversing with her and trusted her. The 3 stars are for 2 main things. When I called I was told the fee for my taxes would be $275. Upon receiving my completed taxes the fee was then $330. I was not given a clear explanation why the fee increased $55. I was not given a quote either after the $275. After my pleasant experience with Debbie I was disappointed in the, what appeared to me as, dishonest communication. Keep in mind this is my first time having my taxes done by a CPA so when I am told $275, I expect to pay $275. I do not know otherwise. The second main thing is that the receptionist was not very pleasant or nice to work with. It wasn't that she was rude but almost annoyed that I was there. Overall the experience was decent.

Made a rather large error on my tax filing for 2020 calendar year. I brought the IRS letter in and…read moretheir comment was everybody makes mistakes. They did pay for the interest levied on the amount which was not much considering the amount they missed. I asked about waving this years tax prep fees due to the error from last year and they said no. Their response is "well you would have to have paid that anyway". That may be true, but I would not be paying that large amount this year along with the taxes I will paying for 2021 if not for their error. Waiving the processing fee would have been a way to say sorry about the mistake and we want to continue to earn your business. They do not seem to care to much about customer service. Would not recommend.
