My recent visit was filled with natural beauty and peaceful hours. I enjoyed hiking, reading, and watching the wildlife. It was wonderful to unplug and reset. I thoroughly enjoyed the charm of my rustic cabin and carefree days. The hosts, Holly and Glen, were very accommodating and fun to talk with. One morning I took an early boat trip with Glen, a Maine Guide, to view the wildlife. It was a highlight for me. Such a unique lovely place with caring management! Truly as advertised, the camp is the only development on a beautiful clean well stocked pond (really a lake). Off the grid and definitely camping, don't expect posh, groomed surroundings! Just sweet cabins - bring your food and flashlights and enjoy the quiet, a swim and the sound of loons. read more

Just returned from our 5th consecutive autumn visit to Spencer Pond Camps, and we find that each visit is better than the previous. The new proprieters have improved on an experience that was pretty darned good to begin with. The cabins are rustic but comfortable. The kitchens are well stocked with utensils and the beds are warm and comfortable. The cabin gas lights could be bit better placed for night reading. The wood stoves can make the cabins very warm indeed. There are plenty of extra bedding and towels. Even the outhouses are well built and reasonably well maintained. The camp grounds are well kept. The canoes and other equipment are available and well maintained. The view from the camp ground is very pretty. The early morning still at sunrise is wonderful. The location (no other building on the entire pond) is marvelously remote. If you are looking for a hotel or other full featured facility, this is not the place for you. But if you like a rustic experience much more confortable than tenting, this is a place you should investigate. read more
