When I was asked to assist my family with the sale of my sister's home in SLC, I began online and did my research. I reached out to 5-6 agents via phone and spoke with 4 of them. It was apparent to me that Hady was in a class by himself. We had to manage the process without being anywhere near SLC and having a "boots on the ground" realtor that I could trust was critical to me in helping to best execute this effort. After selecting Hady, he took the time to provide detailed information about sales comps, the condition of the house we were trying to sell and the realities of the market. This began in July. First step: get it fixed up in order to have the house qualify for all financing options available (FHA and Utah Housing) for the prospective buyers. The work that was required was more extensive than we thought but Hady has strong vendor relationships so he marshalled them to the property in a matter of one day after agreeing to get landscaping and painting work completed. Each vendor did a fabulous job and Hady was there at the home managing the entire process. He went to the house virtually every day for the first couple of weeks and he did a lot of work himself: cleaning the garage, door handle upgrades, smoke alarm installs...etc. We needed this help, and most realtors wouldn't think about doing this. Not Hady, he tackled it all like it was his personal home - the guy is amazing! Once it was ready, Hady provided us with a detailed market analysis that showed exactly where the house fit relative to the comp set. I'm a data driven person and while we hoped to go to market at a higher price, we knew the market conditions were deteriorating and prices were starting to drop on a host of properties in the comp set. We needed to price it right to get action. I would never have agreed to this without the benefit of the data and that's where Hady is amazing. He provides you with all the information in an unbiased way and he is honest about what he thinks but honors your needs the entire time. In the end, we listed it at his suggested number, got quick market traction once it hit the market, and we found a strong buyer that tied up the property for only 4k less than asking price after negotiations. The property inspection provided another source of friction but we knew the condition of the items brought forth by the buyer and we agreed to a fair structure (effectively half of the costs for the repair work needed) as a seller concession to get to the closing. During this time interest rates started really shooting up (September) but it didn't affect the buyer or our transaction and we closed on time in the middle of a fast slump in the market. I don't know how much less we would have had to take on this sale had we not made it happen but I know it would have been a lot bigger discount and we never would have been able to get this done successfully with our best possible outcome if we didn't have a trusted partner like Hady. Bottom line: I know many successful residential realtors but I don't think any of them have the skills combined with the personal level of care and commitment that Hady showed me and my family. Well, I don't think it has to be overwhelming and if you choose the right real estate agent, you may find this to be the most exciting experience of your adult life. I lived in California my entire life and my wife accepted a promotion and relocation to SLC. Her company was kind enough to fly us out to SLC to check out the scene and see if we liked it, before we made the move. While she was preparing for her interviews and work-related meetings, I took to Google to find a real estate agent to show me around and help me understand what to expect. Mind you, we were planning to rent for the first year, get a feel for the area and figure out what fancy suburb to call home. I found Lori Anderson on Google and we began a lengthy and very detailed email exchange in advance of our trip. Lori was kind enough to pick me up at the hotel and drive me around, showing me the older neighborhoods, the not so desirable neighborhoods and explain the costs, best time to buy, current market conditions and it was clear she knows her stuff and has answers. In fact, she even pointed me in the direction of a website to help us find an apartment. Lori added me to the email listing distribution, based on our proposed budget, size of the home we hoped for and selected some neighborhoods that we might like. Every few days, I'd get an email with available homes and I'd save the favorites for later discussion. This is a good time to discuss etiquette. We went to probably 50 open houses in the span of 3 weeks this Spring and met a ton of agents. I gave my phone number and email address, mainly to get an idea of what else was on the market that maybe we didn't see (not much and nothing worth looking at, is what I discovered) and boy oh boy. Some of these real estate agents are way too pushy and called or texted or emailed way too often. Lori, on the other hand, was not pushy at all. In fact, she basically let us do our thing, would check in on the favorites I added to my dashboard on her website and ask if I wanted to see the homes. It was the absolute perfect level of service, considering that we really were not in the market, just window shopping. My wife and I had lunch with Lori to discuss all the fine points of buying a home, because we were aware of the market heating up and didn't want to sit on the sidelines while others found their dream home and we sat in a funky apartment. How much do we really need for a down payment? How do we get approved for a mortgage, in a city where we don't know anyone? Basically, Lori put me in touch with a mortgage broker and explained all the questions I should ask, to get the facts in place to make an informed decision. Soon after that, we fell in love with a home and it was full steam ahead. I had never made an offer on a home before and I was overwhelmed. Lori and I talked through the price during our second visit to view the home and she was extremely thorough and brutally honest. In fact, she walked the entire property to check the gas connection, get an idea of surrounding open space, noting that her assistant would contact the city to see if they would be allowed to build on that space. She contacted the selling agent moments after we left, to see if the solar panels were paid for or leased. She is extremely organized and focuses on the details, so we didn't have to stress about not knowing what we were jumping in to. Our offer was accepted, and we were in the 30 days to close phase, which is when the heavy lifting happens. Lori did a ton of heavy lifting on our behalf and basically cleared our plate of stress and worry. If there was action needed on my part, she would text and say, "email coming your way, need some signatures" and explained what we were dealing with. She scheduled the inspection for us and knew a guy that was good and available quickly. She worked with the selling agent to get all the invoices in place for the maintenance records and when we received the inspection report, she contacted the seller, asking them to make the necessary repairs in advance of closing day. She contacted the title company weeks in advance of closing day, scheduled our appointment for first thing in the morning, so we could close and fund early enough to get the keys the same day. It was a thing of beauty to watch her working behind the scenes to make this happen and to make it a very smooth and stress-free process for us. As I sit here today, working away in my new home, I feel like Lori is part of our family now. Without Lori working her magic and making us feel confident and comfortable, we wouldn't be home owners today. I almost want to buy another house, just to work with her again. I worked with a real estate agent named Brian to try and sell my house. I had a friend living in my…read morehouse during the winter, since I was recovering from a severe back injury and wasn't able to keep the walks and driveway clear of snow. I asked Brian to schedule showings with my friend. Unfortunately, Brian refused to work with my friend and caused all kinds of problems for me. He did NOTHING to promote or sell my house, but refused to cancel our six-month contract. So, I had to wait for six months while this clown did NOTHING. Once our contract had expired, I hired a different agent and had the house sold for my asking price within two weeks (Brian kept trying to get me to sell it for $40,000 less). The real treat was when Brian then sent me a bill for $3,000 a month for all six of the months I was under contract with him as "[His] portion of the rent my friend was paying." Then Brian magnanimously offered to cancel these thousands of dollars of fake debt if I would sign up for another six months with him. My friend didn't pay rent. He was doing me a favor. Brian just pulled these numbers out of his nearest crevice. I would HIGHLY recommend staying away from Century 21 Everest Property Management and Brian in particular.

Around March 16th my husband got a text saying "hello Adam, let's talk about the sale of your rental house and your options" First of all his name isn't Adam, and second THIS is how you first initiate contact to people who weren't even aware the house was being sold in the first place? After that was sorted out they came to take pictures and served us with a 30 day notice (March 18th) with the name Adam again which was crossed out and the right name written in pen above. The realtors sent many text messages the next week some of which were at inappropriate times of day, 7:30 am and 11:00pm trying to get us out of the house, make arrangements for inspections or find out when we would be vacating. Telling us "the new buyer was hoping you'd be out by the 1st" and "we'll give you CASH FOR KEYS to help you with your move if you'll work with us" They sent a plumber over without any notice, who was there all day and asked my husband for drugs. After we vacated the home (April 1st) we contacted them and got very little response. We've asked about our deposit, we got the run around from all parties. Only to be told we weren't getting it, but not before Jeff telling us that we should be happy with the cheap rent we were paying and that's that. Turns out there was no buyer, as the house is currently on the market, so there is no cash for keys. We still have never heard from the owner of the house, and of course the realtors have ignored our texts and calls. I'm so unhappy by the way we were treated. We are aware that they weren't getting any money from us. But we are people, actual people with a whole family living in the house that was being sold from under us. A little kindness would've gone a long way. Instead we were treated with disdain. When it's our time to buy a home I can GUARANTEE we will not use Century 21.

After quite a few homes she started saying inappropriate things such as "I won't be making any money off this sale" or "I won't have a profit from this home." My husband and I were irritated and that was the end. She is on top of paperwork and will call you back quickly, if she isn't on one of her many vacations. We are happy we left her hands and won't be returning.
