Horrible customer service! I was quoted a price and they took HUNDREDS more out of my account. They sent 3 men when I was told 2. Did not bring an appliance dolley. Did not have enough moving blankets. They damaged my new fridge, scratched my fireplace, damaged my bedroom set. One guy left mid move to put gas in his car and air in his tires. I have not had other moving experiences, so I can't say I have experienced better, but this company certainly did not meet my expectations. I purchased the living social deal for 2 hours of moving services. I had to schedule moving for a very specific day, and this was not a problem. I was scheduled for between 12pm and 5pm on a Wednesday. When 5:15pm rolled around and I hadn't heard a peep, I called the main office. The man I spoke to said he would call the truck, that they'd been tied up at a previous appointment. At 5:45pm, having heard nothing, I called back. I was told that the drivers told him they were on their way. At 6:15pm, they finally arrived. We already packed all our items and it was just a matter of loading. We lived on the first floor and did not have a ton of possessions (1 bedroom). The loading took quiet a while, and we assisted. Had we not, I am sure the move would have taken well over 4 hours. The two guys were pleasant and moved pretty quickly (though did take a smoke break on the clock). They were exhausted and told me they'd been working since 7am. They finished our place around 8:30pm. They were nice enough to not overcharge for the excess time (at $85/hour) and we tipped well, despite their tardiness. After speaking to them, I concluded that this was caused by overbooking and overworking by management. Unfortunately, they failed to give us 3 bed support pieces that were essential to our bed frame. We realized this the next day, and called the driver and the office repeatedly without response. We even went to their listed office, which is empty. We were forced to ask my dad to re-create these pieces, as we never got them back. In sum, the men who did the moving were nice but I find the company's practices unacceptable. They clearly work these men ridiculous hours and over schedule them just so they don't have to have additional staff. The non-response for our missing bed supports was very disheartening. read more

I'm giving them a 1 because there isn't a lower rating. We decided go cheaper for this simple move of an office furniture set from my sister in law's house. They sent 2 un trained young men. Once was nice, one was very unpleasant. They quoted 2 hours which seemed very reasonable. The job took 6 hours. They marred all of the furniture, put a hole in a door, put a hole in a wall and then expected to be paid for their extra time. If my wife and I hadn't shown them the angles to lift and get around corners these knuckleheads would have made a bigger mess of things. Including moving two extremely heavy armoires. They remained calm and friendly, even though I know how hard it was to maneuver them to different locations. A plus!! Originally I was supposed to move at 9am on a Saturday. They called around 8:15 saying they'd be early, which was great. However, they called back at 8:30 saying their truck broke down and they needed to get it fixed and would update me. I heard nothing until calling them for an ETA at 10:30, when they said they'd be there soon. Come 11, they call back saying the issue wasn't fixed and they'd need to reschedule. (I later discovered that they were using Budget trucks, not their own branded trucks, so not sure why they couldn't just get a new truck for my move) It then took 3 more calls before they finally rescheduled me for Sunday at noon, which was only confirmed via email, not over the phone. Sunday I hear nothing from them, despite calling them multiple times from 1-2pm. Finally at 2:10 they call to say they were delayed but are still coming, and should be there soon. At 3:40 I get another call saying they'll be there at 4:15 (note my original delivery window for Sunday was 12-3). They FINALLY arrive at 4:20. Once the movers themselves were there, they were great and efficient and handled everything well. Overall, the movers themselves were good but the management and planning was so horrible that I will never use this company again. read more

Bad experience.. have been waiting..its almost 3 hours now. Firstly they give a 3 hour time frame which is pretty huge if you keep waiting for most of those 3 hours. I'm not sure where to even begin with this review. I will try to maintain civility. I'll preface by saying I had them out to the home to see the job. I made specific move lists that were given to the company. I made them well aware of all timelines and locations. I had to move twice in the same weekend due to a bum lender. Once to a storage shed, then to the new home. Day one- they showed up 2 hours late which is completely unacceptable as I was the first run of the day. The truck was overfilled and they had to make two trips which had us moving out while the new people were moving in. It took them several hours longer than estimated to move my ranch home. They damaged the majority of the items they moved for us. They couldn't move my gun safes out of the basement which we specifically looked at ahead of time. They sent another truck with two more men worth of firepower. They finally got them out after I was so desperate as to remove the doors. (A step they had earlier decided they wouldn't need). This additional time was not comped. What a train wreck. I already had them scheduled for the next move, so here we go. I had informed them of the importance of being on time as I had my closing scheduled for that morning. They were late. I had to leave my belongings unlocked in my storage shed. This made me very nervous. I ended up being late for the closing because of them. They took just as long to unload (which it should not have) as it took to load up the storage locker. They damaged more of my furniture in the second move. They scratched my hardwood floors and scratched and dented walls in my new house. None of my furniture was bubble wrapped. They only used green cellophane. They literally damaged almost everything they touched. They drove around lost and didn't offer to comp me for the wasted time. Here's what they did do to fix some of the issues. 1. Sent a furniture repair guy to fix some of the issues. They would only cover the stuff that was easy. No fabric or leather repairs. One of the pieces was so bad they had to come pick it up and take it offsite to refinish it. They did nothing for any damage to the home. 2. They sent the additional manpower to help with the safes. They did not charge me for that. That is all. I have heard awesome stories of great movers, the entire industry does not operate like this (no matter what some say). In a nut shell, they broke my TV, tried to cover it up by not saying anything and are now refusing to pay for it. I had service in October 2012; the movers showed up complaining because they were missing the Packers game. They moved super slow. My roommate, my mom and I all had to help unload the truck and carry a lot of stuff off of the truck and into my new apartment. They ended up tearing up my one year old couch on ALL of the corners and they said they would repair, it's seven months later and still no repairs made and no reimbursement (as of yet). Based off of principle I would NEVER hire this company. The owner states he is a Christian, yet his actions don't line up with what a "Christ-like" person would do. To start off, he is KNOWN for not paying his employees on time, or AT ALL! When his employees try to contact him, either to get paid or for help in general while on the job, he either completely ignores them or says just enough to pretend as if he's going to be available for a conversation, and then always has an excuse as to why he doesn't value his employees enough to give them his attention. He also hires people and sends them out to work without ANY TRAINING. Not only does this set the employee up for failure, it lowers the quality of work that PAYING CLIENTS receive. In addition to lack of pay, communication, and training, he also doesn't own his trucks. He uses truck rental companies, often making reservations under employee names and then just like he doesn't pay his employees on time, he doesn't pay the truck rental companies on time, which then leaves the employee who he rented the truck under, getting contacted by companies asking for past due balances to be paid. Continuing with the trend of mistreatment of his employees and lack of communication, he also has no problem with himself or his management not being available for contact in emergent situations. Example - since he doesn't own his trucks he doesn't maintain the trucks, so when a truck decides to fall apart, in the rain, on the HIGHWAY, ending in an ACCIDENT, leaving the workers stranded on the side of the road, the owner and his management weren't able to be reached. Not only did the employees have to be picked up by their own family member, and the client that was next on the schedule to be moved was not able to be serviced on time because the owner and management wouldn't answer the phone so that the workers could request that another team be sent to the next client since their truck was inoperable, (by the way that client was counting on movers to show up because they HAD to be moved out of their home THAT DAY), the owner also let the employee that was in the truck that fell apart on the highway, take the fall for the citation that was given for hundreds of dollars. Luckily, after MULTIPLE court dates (that required the employee to take time off of work, meaning they lost pay) and a competent judge, the ticket was dismissed because the judge knew that the fault fell on the lack of proper maintenance of the truck and NOT on the employee's driving skills. However, had the judge decided differently, the EMPLOYEE, not the OWNER, would have had to pay hundreds of dollars AND had points put on their license... and the fact that the owner was perfectly ok with his employee taking the punishment for something that was completely out of the employee's control, just shows the TRUE character of the owner of this company. I can't speak too much on the work done by the workers of the company, but when the company is run by someone with clear and complete disregard for their employees, I'd never risk hiring them and ultimately putting money into the owner's pockets. A future lawsuit will most likely be the next step, so WAGES THAT WERE EARNED MONTHS AGO can finally be collected, other than that I would NEVER want to have anything else to do with this company. read more

First of all, let me say, I would not recommend these movers to my worst enemy or anyone at all, actually. Now, on to my HORRIBLE experience with this "company." This process started off easy and friendly enough in the days prior to my scheduled move. However, on the day of the move, which was yesterday, 11/29/14, sh** hit the fan. I did inventory with Jay Friday afternoon and was under the impression that my movers would arrive at 2pm since that was the agreed upon arrival time. However, I received a call from him later that afternoon telling me that due to the size of my move, a 3BR townhouse to a single family home, it would be better for "everyone" if the movers came between 9-10am. I told him that that would cut out 6 hours of packing time for me, but if he thought it best, it was fine. That was the last understanding I had of where we were. He let me know that the movers would call me 30 minutes prior to their arrival and that everything would be fine. Again, I said okay. To prepare for their arrival yesterday, I got up at 5am to make sure I would be ready to go by 9am in case they got there then, Well, by 10:21am, I'd received NO call and NO movers. I called them and was told that they had pushed my move back to 2pm to "give me more time." At that point, I asked why no one had told me that, and was given every answer except the truth, which I will get to later. I told them fine and I would see them at 2pm. Now, my move was scheduled for 3 hours, 2-5pm. I think most people in my situation would have assumed that the arrival time would be 2pm. WRONG. When 1:30pm came and went, I grew concerned that I still had not received a phone call from the movers with their arrival time, so I called them back AGAIN at 1:40pm. At that point I was told that the reservation was from 2-5pm, which meant that they would arrive any time between 2 and 5pm. WHAT?! Oh, I was pissed. I asked why that was not explained to me when the reservation was made and was told that my estimate showed it. Lies. When I did inventory with Jay, he said 2-5pm and not BETWEEN 2 and 5pm. Furthermore, I reviewed my estimate and it read: MOVING DETAILS Reference Number: Created on: 11/25/2014 Booked on: 11/25/2014 Booked by: Jay Smith Move Date: Saturday, 11/29/2014 Move Time: 2:00 PM ~ 5:00 PM Type: Local Move (Residential) Where in that does it say between 2-5pm? Nowhere. Exactly. Well, again, I said fine because at that point, what choice do I have? 3pm, no movers. 4pm, no movers. 5pm, no movers. Uh oh. Now what? Well, at 4pm, I started calling them every 10 minutes. Know what I got? Voicemail. Voicemail from a company that claims on their website they're open 24/7. More LIES. I decided to give them until 5:30pm before I said f*** it. 5:30pm, no movers. I'd just so happened to look outside at 5:25pm and saw a Penske truck parked across the street, but I figured that wasn't them. WRONG again. It was. They'd been out there and called me as I was putting my coat on and going out the door to my new house at 5:32pm. First of all, the truck was only 16' and not the 26' I was advised it would be. Second of all, again how dare they show up and call me 32 minutes after they were supposed to be at my house. Wait, I misspoke. Giving them the benefit of the doubt of arriving at 10am, which is the latest rescheduled time I was given, they were in fact more than 7-1/2 hours late to do my move. When the movers called from their cell, I cussed them clean the hell out. Now, prior to doing so, I did explain to them that I knew their tardiness was not their fault but that of the booking department. I knew they only went where they were told, so I was not mad at them, but somebody had to get cussed out and it unfortunately was going to be them. I then told them to call somebody with a cell phone and find out if they could come back the next day and that I would wait to leave the house until I heard back from them. After I got of the phone with them, I changed my mind and decided to walk outside to speak with them directly. When I got out there, they asked if the owner has asked me to come outside. I told them I hadn't talked to him and I never did either. They said he was supposed to call me, but some lady did, at which point, I promptly fired all of their asses. Penny pinchers who are just out there to get an extra dollar from you. Wish I could give negative stars. Called for a quote and management gave me a price for 3 hours... Called in again to book with same exact moving information and they gave me a quote for a lower price and 2 hrs (the extra hour if it took 3 would cost more than the 3 HR quote which makes no sense)... They took an extra hour which billed me more and Their explanation after I called management was "the tried to give you a better deal to do it in 2 hrs". The movers came and were nice people but weren't the typical big men that you expect from movers..then clocked in when they parked and I told them what needs to be moved and done and for us to start and they took their time for walk through in my 1 bedroom apartment and didn't start for another 15 or so mins.. Being a single mom, it was hard for me to move by myself. I searched other moving companies, but this was the best price I could find. I was happy that they don't start their clock until they start loading the truck and ends when the last piece is delivered. (Other companies wanted to start charging when they left their place of business and that would have been too much for me since I lived out a ways from town) The truck arrived right on time and the men worked efficiently to get the work done. There was no damage to my belongings and I was very satisfied with their work. They took a lot of stress off my shoulders and that in it self is priceless. If I'm ever looking for a moving service again, this will be my first call and I will be sure to suggest Speedy Men to all my friends and family. read more

Over an hour late, terrible communication, and bait and switch I hired Speedymen Moving to help me move my one bedroom apartment and was given my window of 9-1pm, after being told that it would take them a minimum of 4 hours to move my things..thank goodness I did not ask them to move the items in my separate storage unit down the street. They were an hour late in arriving and then proceeded to rush everything out the door, imagine my surprise when in under an hour my flat was empty. At the two hour mark we were at my new place, with everything off the truck. OK great, I will get a refund....NO WAY!! I was then told that they charge a minimum of 4 hours because of the distance they drove to get to me!! If I had known that I would have looked for a different company in a heartbeat. I called immediately and was told that they would refund me for 1 hour of unused service and they apologized that it wasn't fully explained to me when I set up the service. They also claimed that they sent everything to my email address, which they didn't they got the letters wrong, so I once again gave them my correct email. I was then told that the drivers had been late because the rep who took my info put in a town that does not exist!!! Hello, thats what zip codes are for, and the zip code was right. I was then assured that I would receive my refund in a couple of days. Honestly I don't know why they didn't just deduct it from the amount that they still had to put on my charge card to bring my balance to zero instead of dancing around the issue, but oh well. It has been a week and still nothing...no refund/credit and no emails. I just called and was told the department that manages that is only in once a week so the adjustment was done over the weekend. What kind of half-assed company is this? As I was just doing research on this company I learned that on 11/26/2012 BBB confirmed that Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration revoked the license of Speedymen LLC. It doesn't do into specifics, but it sure as hell doesn't sound good. I am disabled and moving items on my own is not something I should do, but if I should ever have to move again I would rather deal with the pain of hurting myself and leaving behind heavy items that I can not manage on my own than to ever use this company again. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!! Better Business Bureau rates this company with 'F' - the worst category - 17 complaints at the BBB! I had the extreme displeasure of using this company for a move on August 22, 2013. Despite it being clear on the work order that the move was to begin at 9:00 am, the driver called and woke me up at 7:40 am to tell me he'd be there at 8:00. When I told him that would not be possible he became clearly agitated, which set the tone for his poor demeanor throughout the move. During the move from my old home no protectors for the hardwood floors were used. Several pieces of furniture were slid across the floor, leaving half a dozen scratches to the floors throughout the home. The movers brought almost no tools. Thankfully I had disassembled most of the furniture. The one thing left was the mirror attached to the chest of drawers. The driver told me he didn't have the necessary allen key - the wood screws were robertson head (not even a screwdriver? ridiculous) The driver used needle nose pliers to loosen several of the screws and then simply ripped the remaining ones out of the chest of drawers. In fact, he transported the braces for attaching the mirror with the screws protruding from the wood. By yanking out the screws the affected screw holes in the mirror back and dresser are now completely stripped and will not fasten. During the move I asked that the furniture be wrapped. The second mover offered but the driver overruled him, claiming that he would place blankets on the furniture in the truck. To be fair, several of the wooden furniture pieces were wrapped with plastic. However, none of the fabric pieces were wrapped, which became particularly problematic once the heavy rain began. On two occasions I watched unwrapped, fabric furniture sit on the platform of the truck in the rain for at least 4 minutes while the driver took his time (at this point it seemed to be more spite than anything else since the truck was more than large enough to pull the furniture in and then position it). At the new location I asked that the movers place runners down to protect the carpets. Given the heavy rains this was more than necessary. The ignorant response from the driver was that the trucks aren't equipped with runners. I have hired movers from several companies for both local and continental moves. This is the first time ever that movers had neither tools nor floor protectors. This was absolutely ridiculous! The driver became increasingly belligerent during the move, claiming at one point in a raised voice that I was lying about the damage to the glass coffee table tops. This was beyond reprehensible. The second mover performed at least 70% of the work on this move. The driver was seen mainly standing in the back of the truck waiting for the second mover to bring him furniture and boxes. I paid for 2 workers but received 1.25!!! I realize damages can happen during a move. However, all of the damages caused could have been avoided had the movers (and the driver, in particular) engaged in industry-standard practices and properly wrapped and secured my furniture. Not once did the driver apologize for the damages, even when he stepped on the flap of the sofa and almost tore it off completely - his only response was "oh shit". I was also not advised at the time of booking the move (or the three times I provided a full inventory via telephone) that I had to place the flatscreen tv in a box or it would not be transported. This was a very annoying oversight that caused me to have to make a second trip between the two locations. Overall this was the worst move I have ever experienced. Despite the claim by a purported manager, Dan Smith, that the company would make quick amends (a price reduction and prompt repairs - I paid a fairly hefty insurance premium), I have yet to hear from the company's claims department (today is September 5) and its email inbox is so full that no new messages can be delivered. Several calls have not been returned. Update - it's now October 4 and I'm still fighting for a satisfactory resolution to the repairs and compensation. The company claims person will not take my calls. And despite the promise from the booking agent that any damage would be repaired to my satisfaction (I asked for this in writing and despite the promise that this would be forthcoming, I never received it. This should have been a red flag to avoid this company. So ultimately this is my mistake for accepting the terms of their insurance - again despite a hefty insurance premium - which is $0.60 per lb). So I'm left with furniture the company can't repair and they're offering an amount that barely covers the tax on new items). This is the most unprofessional moving company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I wish I had read reviews before booking. read more

Website states $75 per hour....BULL. that is only for the first few hours then they jack up the rate!!! NEVER offered to come and give a written quote gave a quote over the phone and assured me that it was "VERY" accurate. "There will be plenty of time and the truck will be a 26 foot so big enough for a 3 bedroom home" so I Set it all up and booked over the phone. Despite getting what they said was a "very accurate quote" the two guys who showed up said that it was going to take two trips (which was an extra charge) and several more hours than scheduled. Also an extra charge not the $75 they boast about all over the place!! WHAT A RIP OFF!!! the "QUOTE" was way off. I called and asked to talk to the manager and the person who got on the phone said he was when in fact he was not. IRRITATING!!!! Don't Lie to me. There is no need. When asked if they could at least decrease the hourly rate to the 75$ from $115 they refused. So, I refused to continue to use them and pay for the services. DONE. Put the work in to do a proper quote or work with your customers to come to a compromise. Now, to the 2 fabulous guys who moved us.....I can not say enough about them!!! Kind, hard working honest men...who probably don't get paid enough money for what they do!!!! I would hire these two guys again if I had to move, but NEVER from this company. Terrible experience. Hired Speedymen Moving to move a small office to a new location literally across the parking lot. They were unable to reassemble furniture as contracted, they left before the move was completed, Asked for more money, decided 3 filing cabinets were too heavy....asked for more money....told us they wouldn't be able to help with teardown and donation of remaining furniture unless we would pay...guess what...more money. Actually said that 'boxes' were not listed on the moving contract, so they shouldn't have to move them...!? Poor customer service to add insult to injury, I do NOT recommend Speedymen Moving and Delivery in Milwaukee, WI at ALL! Wish I wold have checked Yelp first! read more

This company is a total rip off. I hired movers for a saturday, they called on friday to confirm they woukd arrive between 9 to 10 am with a 30 min call before they arrive. I havent seen or heard anything all morning so i called at 10, and aboit every 30 mins following because I had other people there waiting to help. Needless to say, it was 11:45 am and still no word on truck or men so I called to cancel my service. I hired another company to move me. The men still showed up and asked me to call dispatch to assure them i didnt hire them on the side to do the work for me. So you are telling me you don't trust them but youre gonna send them to move me? SMH, who does business like this? Speedy men do! I was guaranteed my deposit back from the manager that day and and that was over a week ago! I still have no deposit back and no one will return my call. Can we say law suit? If there was an option, I wouldn't even give them a 1 star. These people are not reliable!! I made an appt for them to move my parents' belongings into 2 rented haul trucks. Then again to come back at a later day to unpack the trucks. They called the day before to confirm their time between 12 - 3pm. I called them 4 times to get excuse after excuse. First, they are running behind. Second, previous appt had way more than expected. Third, almost done but by the time they got to us it would be another hour than too late for their guys to be out. Fourth, I asked them to find another team to come out and they couldn't find anyone to come out. So they left us at the last minute without movers. Our wonderful neighbors and friends came to help us until 11pm. At the time we told them we wanted our money refunded and told them to cancel the second service. It took me calling/contacting them 5 times to get one of the charges refunded. I am still waiting for the bigger refund. They wanted to give us a store credit! REALLY? The worst moving company EVER!! They charge overtime for taking hours to wrap the furniture and damage it all anyway. They dropped several pieces, nicked broke and scratched most of the wood pieces and broke other items non wood. They took things apart to load and left the bolts/screws and bed parts behind just laying on the floor. read more

I too wish I could show no stars. I was in a pinch when another mover left me in the lurch after I had reserved services weeks in advance. I was desperate and Speedymen showed they had same day services. I called, explained the situation and was told they would have someone out between 12-3. I called at 2 and was told they were just finishing a job and would be there shortly. I called at 3:30 and was told they were enroute, I called again at 4:45 and was told they weren't coming, but could come the next day. REALLY?? No way. I asked why they weren't honest in the first place - and just got a "sorry". I sat around all day, when I could have tried to resolve this another way. read more

This has been the worst move EVER! These men cared nothing about how they handled my property. They broke soooo many items. I labeled and wrapped all glassware. They didn't ever take the time look at the labels to see what was in the boxes. They opened the truck and boxes and totes were on the side boxes were upside down and they had the nerve to carry boxes upside down into my home. They complained the ENTIRE time. If you didn't want to be a Mover, why work for a moving company. These guys have No training, they just rented a truck and called themselves a moving company. We used them to move belongings from one apartment to another within the same building no truck needed. An Apartment swap. Minimal furniture and no appliances. We were quoted 4 hours and were told no travel expense. Time would start when movers arrive. Four hours seemed high so we asked if we would be charged on actual time used and were told yes. We moved forward and booked an appointment. We were told a deposit of 175.00 was required and they would email the quote and receipt. Which we never received prior to the move. When we called the phone disconnected on us multiple times. Move ended up taking two hours. We were still charged for four hours, we were also charged 74.95 for an hour of travel time and a fee of 54.95 for a charge listed as (swap). Wouldn't the swap be considered in the moving time? When we called to complain we were told we were charged based on the quote. Overall shady business. Over charged and we never even received or signed any paper work prior to the move to be able to check the fine print for additional charges...Don't use them unless you want to over pay read more

If I could list it as "0" stars then it would still be too high! I contacted the company to secure moving services for 12/8, I spoke to them on 10/26. Not only did they not listen during this call, but my name was spelled wrong, email was wrong, phone number was incorrect...I never received confirmation until 11/2 of my move, this was after I called about 10 times. I actually had to call and act like I was booking another appointment to get a hold of anyone. At this point, I canceled the service and was immediately hung up on. I've attempted to contact customer service at least 5-8 times since the cancellation and only managed to speak with someone via chat. She took my information and told me someone would call me back right away with information on my refund. Guess what? Still no refund, had to dispute with Discover. Absolutely WORST company I have ever dealt with, zero customer service. DO NOT waste your time even contacting them for services. read more

I have moved many times and these were the worst movers I have ever experienced. I bought the living social deal of 2 hours moving for $99. The three men arrived and dragged my items across the floor, dented walls, and damaged almost every piece of furniture they moved. Come to find out later that one of the men moving my belonging was not even an employee but was brought by their employees to help. To start of with, I've never experienced this bad of service in my life! I had speedy men scheduled for between 12 and 3. We had to be out of our condo by may 1st. The movers were supposed to call on their way to our condo. They never showed up. We got to the point we had all of the furniture in the garage so it was easier for them. The manager, jay, played me along all day like they'd be able to help us still move & proceeded to tell me that we called on April 28th to change the date. Why would we do that when we had to move by may 1st? -didn't do it. Turns out, conveniently, there was another Jessica who called and wanted to change the date to may 8th ,but they changed my paperwork. Needless to say, neveR actually helped us move & told us they couldn't do it. Conveniently til may 8th. We think they overbooked. Not a happy camper. I WOULD NOT recommend them. Horrible experience. Truck arrived 2 hours late, not to mention they came with the wrong size truck that I ordered. I was told that I wouldn't be charged extra for the additional trip. I overheard the two movers brag about what time they got home the night before. One said 6am! and the other said 2am! Apparently, the truck broke down so they had to bring a smaller truck than ordered. I understand why the tardiness, IF THE TRUCK INDEED BROKE DOWN, but these movers were totally inexperienced in moving. Our furniture got banged around because of the way there were carrying our items. We have scratches on our new appliances because they brought the wash machine through the wrong door and tried to squeeze it past another appliance! We had almost all of the items already out of the house except the heavy stuff (which is why we hired a moving company). We helped them move in and out most of the items that we could lift. They brought a piece of furniture over to the new house that should have stayed at the old one, which we ended up taking back there. I paid for an extra stop to switch out wash machines. They brought the dryer into the house and had to take it back out and bring in the correct one, the washer (should not have been my problem). It took them 7 hours to move what should have been a 3 hour move. It took up our entire day waiting for them and moving! These two guys were exhausted by the end of the day because they didn't have the correct tools to move. They were very inexperienced. My husband even bought them lunch. Oh, they knocked off 1 hour for the extra trip back to the old house (because of the wrong size truck) and for the guy's lunch time. I am so dissatisfied with this company. The gentleman I talked to on the phone tried to rationalize taking off only 1 hour. What a joke. My furniture is dinged up and scratched. I am located in Nashville, Tennessee. I cannot speak for other areas of the country, but my experience in Nashville was as bad as an encounter can be with this company. Since my move which was about a 30 mile trip, my furniture was badly damaged, it was loaded improperly, it was handled improperly, and the results were disastrous. Since this happened in the first part of September, I have tried to find out who the company CEO is, and of all the numbers you can find on this company, the only person I have ever been able to speak with is a Mr. Jay Smith. I have been doing my best to communicate with Mr. Smith about this extreme damage done in Nashville, TN and he will not tell me where his office is, and I can only assume he is in Milwaukee, but he might be in Georgia, I am just not sure, as he simply will not tell me. Mr. Smith has blocked my number, where when I call the company I get a message that his number cannot be reach from my area, but I later found out that by putting *67 before I dial, the call goes right through, and he acknowledges I have been blocked. A professional work worker has looked at the damage and given me a price of under $2,800.00 to repair (8) pieces of furniture. This was unacceptable to Mr. Smith, so he asked me to use another vendor, which I contacted and this vendor gave me and Speedy Men Movers a price of at least $3,500.00 to $5,000.00, which Mr. Smith rejected. An offer has been submitted to me which is literally pennies on the dollar, and won't even cover the repair on the most damaged piece, my chest of drawers, so as of this date I have damaged furniture and it appears this company will not help me other than an offer that is just not even reasonable. I have now been sent a letter saying that if I do not remove any complaints I have written they will sue me. Instead of just handling this damage, which can all be repaired for less than $2,800.00 this company is saying they will immediately sue me if I do not retract my BBB complaint and any Internet complaints that are outside my service area. The problem with that is my service area office is nothing but a place to launch a truck from, Mr. Smith, the only person I have been able to talk to does not work in Nashville, he is not in this little office here, and he will not tell me where his office is. I have never had this type of experience before where someone refuses to tell you what office they work out of and who the executives of the company are, where a consumer like myself can go and register a valid serious complaint, it's just something I have never encountered before. I would not recommend this moving company unless you want to pay for and clean up the mess they leave behind. Also, moving is already stressful enough, why add so much unnecessary stress. I hired them for Sept. 12, 2013. They could not find my home. I talked them through it. When they got to my home I had four racks of clothes which I was told they would not move unless in boxes. I had to move them myself. I had glass shelves to a china cabinet wrapped in bubble wrap and a box. Was asked to drive those over myself.?? They dumped everything anywhere, even though I clearly labeled where I wanted everything. They put the frame to my bed up wrong and damaged the frame. They tried to move my couch into my apartment. They TORE up my hallway. My newly painted hallway was scratched, has holes in it, and the wood banister is also damaged. The ceiling did not survive either, there is a hole in the ceiling and the fire alarm is about to fall down. I started to cry and become upset and told them to just stop, they had done enough damage. I told them to return the damaged sofa (it now had white paint marks and tears on it). The movers told me, "not to worry this happens all the time and someone will be over in a couple of days to fix it." They NEVER ONCE said that I had to write a detailed description of the damages on the moving invoice. This was a MONTH ago and nothing has been done to address the damage, much less in a couple of days as was quoted to me. I have emailed the company with photos documenting the damage. My emails were ignored. I called and at that time Jay finally read my emailed and looked at the pictures. He said he was NOT going to make things right by me because I didn't indicate the damage on the invoice. I did not know I had to and HIS representatives did not tell me to. Remember they indicated things would be back to normal in a couple of days. Jay them said someone from "quality control" would call me. They didn't, I called them and was told they were "investigating my claim". Then I received a generic email saying they were sorry for the problems. They were sorry but not sorry enough to repair their damage. It has been over a month. This is ridiculous and they should just be honest and admit that they are shady and take no pride in their service and will hide behind some small print in a contract. By the way Jay, you might want to let your movers in on your shady business practices, because they are giving totally different answers to your customers. BEWARE OF SPEEDY MOVERS.
