I bought a premium wash which is the equivalent of the triple play wash (their digital display now shows a Rojo wash menu so I assume this location has been acquired). My car was mostly clean but I usually go to Flash car wash in East Prov or Johnston RI and my car is much cleaner there. It's also really loud and my kid was holding his ears at one point. Bonus that the dryer at the end did a pretty good job. Vacuums - some didn't work and were clogged and another I tried had so little pressure I couldn't vacuum with it. I remember going to Triple Play in Attleboro frequently years ago for washes and they were pretty great. This North Attleboro location really needs some love both inside the wash and at the vacuums. If the Rojo display is any indication, it looks like this location will become Rojo soon. The Rojo in Walpole is an amazing car wash so hopefully they put some money into this place.

As the fuel was pumping, I went to grab the station squeegee (a few feet away) and took 2 steps. As I walked back to the car, the cashier turned off my pump. I thought it was a pump error so I repeated the steps and as the fuel is again pumping, I grabbed the squeegee next to the car and took a step toward the windshield. Again, the cashier stopped my pump as I was just next to the driver side door. I went inside and asked why she was stopping my pump. She said I had to be actively operating the pump as per fire code and it was listed on the pump station. This is clearly incorrect and I was severely annoyed but it was also clear that the cashier would never change her mind so discussing the matter was a waste of time. There were customers that sat in their car as the pumps operated but apparently I couldn't clean my windshield even though I had visibility on the pump and could activate the shutoff switch just as quickly as if I were manually holding down the dispenser handle. And of course, nothing in MA's fire code prevents a customer from needing to actively hold the pump or stand next to it. This was the first Shell I saw, and it had cheaper gas than the previous station, so I thought it was a good stop. Conveniently located on Route 1, accessible on the highway or on Elm Street. Open until at least midnight (probably 24 hours.....), as I was there around 11:30. Store is large and has all the normal "convenience store" items you'd ever be looking for, with an extensive amount of iPhone products, lottery tickets, lots of ice cream and a car wash. Friendly staff, and at night the lighting is BRIGHT at the pumps. TV's on all of the pumps too.... sort of a nice touch. Only complaints are that it isn't full serve and that the receipts read "North Attlebo".... disappointing! That being said, it's still a pretty good station and much less "sketchy" than some of the other stations along this stretch of highway. 4 stars.

The self serve pumps accept credit cards. I had to ask for a receipt as the pump would not give one. The attendant was polite and glad to help. The lack of a receipt at the pump was the only drawback. My experience was positive, fix the receipt issue, and I can predict a 5 star rating in the future !

I wasn't trying to top it off or anything, and I'd filled up at that very same pump a million times before, without incident. But on this occasion, right out of the blue, my right leg was soaked, and I was standing in a puddle of 93 octane. It was like the scene in "Dumb and Dumber." I was thinking of going up to the station attendant inside and saying something, but I wanted to high-tail it out of there before someone lit a cigarette. This was at the beginning of April, and I'm sure the pump has long since been fixed. I've filled up my car several times at the Gulf since then - although now I no longer fill up the tank to the point where the automatic shutoff (is supposed to) kick in.
