If I could give negative stars, I would. This company was an absolute JOKE and they should be investigated. We hired Special Ops to move us out of our home in Aurora, store our belongings for a 3 week period and then move us into our new home in Northern Colorado. It wasn't until our move into our home that we experienced the nightmare that was Special Oops (I mean Ops). I called the day before out move to confirm that everything was on track. Leslie confirmed with me that we were scheduled for a 5/11 delivery with a 3pm-5pm window. She mentioned that they would begin loading their truck with our belongings at 8am and then be on their way. Again, she confirmed all dates and times. On 5/11 (our scheduled moved date) at 4:30pm I had not heard from anyone. I attempted to call. No answer. I tried multiple times with no answer. I was hoping to get an ETA and give more specific directions into the development as our home is not searchable on GPS due to it being new construction. I finally got in touch with "dispatch" around 5pm. He told me when he left the warehouse a couple of hours prior they were still loading my stuff and that "Mike the warehouse manager" would call me in about 15 minutes and if I didn't hear from him, call back. 30 minutes or so later I still hadn't heard from him so I called back. No answer. Mike finally called me and was rather flippant and snarky. He said they didn't start loading the truck until 11am. When I questioned why as Leslie had informed me the loading would begin at 8am he said "well it was close". Um, how is a 3 hour gap considered "close"?! He then became defensive and implied it was our fault because we "have a lot of stuff". If I'm not mistaken, you KNEW how much stuff I had well ahead of time. After all, you DID move it into your pods???? He then said they would be there at 8pm and "not to blow up his phone". 8pm rolls around and still no sign of them. No phone calls, texts, no movers. I try and call. No response. I try texting. Nothing back. He finally responds around 8:30pm to tell me they just finished loading the last pod and that he would call me in 15 minutes. 45 minutes later, nothing. No call, no text, radio silence. We try to call. No answer. We had to call repeatedly (16 times to be exact) to get him to answer the phone. While I do understand there are safety protocols in place while they guys are on lifts making them unable to answer phones, this was completely unacceptably. We received absolutely no communication from these guys on delays, status. We felt like we were being extorted with our own belongings. When Mike finally answered the phone he began cussing out my husband calling him a "pussy ass faggot" and asking him if he wanted to come down to the warehouse to "take care of things". He also threatened to show up the next day (implying there would be some sort of physical altercation). He was yelling at us for calling him over and over. Unfortunately, that was the only way we could get a response out of these people. It was like they were holding our items hostage. We finally got out of him that they would be at our home at 9am the next day. On 5/12 at 9am there was no sight of the movers (surprise). I ended up texting Mike and apologizing for the night before. I felt completely ridiculous for doing so as I am the one who should receive an apology but at this point I was willing to do/say anything to get our stuff! I also asked for their ETA. No response. It wasn't until my husband sent him a text stating that if we didn't hear back from them, we would have to get law enforcement involved that I heard back. Mike thanked me for apologizing saying that it was a long night (he never apologized to me or acknowledged that he was out of line) and said the movers were fueling and in route. At 11:30am they finally show up. When they opened the truck, it looked as though our belongings were just tossed and crammed in there. It was a mess. There was water dripping from the ceiling of the truck, a busted door that was practically rotting. It's a wonder our stuff didn't fall out on the highway on their way up! Boxes marked FRAGILE were crushed, lamps were bent, electrical cords were severed. However, that's minimal to what else we found- They broke all 3 of our TV's. One of them has evidence of water damage and a drop. They broke an antique clock from the late 1800's. Glass completely shattered out of it and the wood broken on the back. All of the pieces on this clock were original (including the glass). This is irreplaceable. I have a 30 year old rocking horse that my grandfather made that they broke the foot off of. We are not sure if our items were broken out of retaliation or they just really didn't give a shit about our stuff. Either way, this entire situation was completely unacceptable and unprofessional! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY WILL LIE AND DESTROY YOUR STUFF!

Moving is a stressful time, when hiring a moving company, you expect that they arrive on time, move everything without damages for if there are issues fully exceed in the experience. I found Special Ops Moving lacking in all these areas. From being 3 hours late, to lying on the whereabouts of the crew, and on damage, while mostly minor it takes more effort than dealing with an insurance company to get any positive response. When Mister Edwards emailed to 'address' my concerns I thought I was reading a canned email spam, not a fourth right apology and drive to address the company's handling of my move. I suggest any on needing professional movers, select another company with a better view towards customer experience.

Two months ago we moved from Denver to outside of Castle Rock. Two huge trucks, five guys and an all day challenge. I was given a quote and they beat it. The quote was substantially lower than other movers. I am thrilled with my choice. I would HIGHLY recommend them and having completed unpacked can tell you not one thing was broken and not one thing is missing or even misplaced. I was given their name by Realtor and she was unsure about them. It was a risk I am glad I took. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them. I would use them again and believe out of the 5 moves I made in Colorado they were the most organized, professional and fun. They made a stressful day go quick!

Worst moving experience of my life. Misquoted grossly, ended up paying about $400 more than quoted. Was told I needed 2 guys at $80 an hour for about four hours, at 8:30pm the night before my move I got an EMAIL saying they were sending 3 guys at $120 an hour. My move took from 9:45am- 3pm with those guys. 5 hours. My bed frame and bookshelf are completely broken, and my dresser damaged. Holes in boxes marked fragile. Go with a company that will come give you a free estimate after looking at your home. Don't use these guys. I've moved a lot and this was terrible. Waiting to see how long the claim takes, will update review with how the claims process goes. Edit (5/16): claim submitted on May 11th. Will update when I have more information. Currently sleeping on a mattress on the floor due to having a broken bed. Edit (8/20): They finally got back to me on my claim. Denied. They sent me an addendum to the contract. The fine print says they literally don't cover anything. No wood, no glass, no electronics, no appliances...so your "insured" move is a scam. They also claim to hire veterans, but the guys they sent out to me were most definitely not. read more

My wife and I are planning to move out of our horrible apartment complex run by an abusive landlord (see my other reviews) in the near future, so I started shopping around for moving companies. Being a military veteran myself, a moving company that specifically brags about hiring veterans and sending them to help you move seemed like a great idea! I tried to go to their website... my anti-virus software warned me that it was listed as a "compromised" site. Hmmm... I tried calling them... no answer. Hmmm... Then I noticed that Yelp has them as located in... Mexico?? That can't be right, since they are a Denver based moving company! Luckily, I happen to have a bit of knowledge about how the government works, as well as some past experience working with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC). My good buddies over at Ramblin' Express bus company know all about how much I love filing complaints with the PUC! And a few tow truck companies have encountered some trouble thanks to me as well... So I head over to the PUC website and look up Special Ops Moving's license number... low and behold, it has been REVOKED! It is currently illegal for Special Ops Moving to conduct any business in the state of Colorado! Guess that explains why they don't want to answer their phones, huh? read more

I wish I could give less than 1 star. We hired them to help move someone who is paralyzed. We explained the urgent need for thsi move to get him into a nursing home, and we explained that he is unable to either pack or move due to his physical limiations. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! After multiple calls, they promised to return our deposit and move him to free the next morning. However for the SECOND TIME - THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! We were left in the most urgent situation with no help and scrambling to get this gentleman moved for his own health and safetly. I cannot believe how they do business this way. read more

I can not recommended Special Ops Moving. They double charged me for my move and will not remedy the situation. I paid the $100 for the reservation with my credit card, and then I paid for the rest of the move, and the tip, with cash. Three weeks after my move, Special Ops charged the card they kept on file for my reservation the full amount of the move minus my reservation. They will not refund my card. I wrote them up in the BBB as well. Please do not use this company. They will scam you. read more
My Mother-in-Law hired these guys to help her move a short distance and I wish she had done some more due diligence on the front end. Be vary wary of their F rating with the BBB! This was a disaster from the start, they sent two inexperienced movers and told us it would be a one day job. It took these guys over 2 hours to decide they didn't have the equipment they needed to move a fridge down a flight of stairs (They forgot their lifting straps). One of the guys was moving very slowly the whole day and as a bonus one of them used the restroom, and left a window open for an indoor cat to get out into the neighborhood. Since they did not finish the first day they suggested 3 movers to come out the next day to actually complete the job and their only concession was "we won't charge you the mileage to get these guys to your house from the office." Once they arrived the new guys mentioned how the previous 2 movers had only been hired a few months ago. That's when I stepped in and called their manager Leo and we argued for about a half hour before he offered a small discount on the second day's cost. You can tell he is used to these types of calls as his walls are up from the beginning. "I've heard nothing but good things about those guys, they aren't new, etc." All the things that are clearly true given their reviews, customer service, and BBB rating. This move ended up costing her almost twice the original quote. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more
I thought I had found my moving company! My first experience was great and I would've given it 4 stars. However, this last experience was so awful that 1 is definitely more than enough. If you don't want to read my full story, here are the noteables: - Did not arrive within window given. - Never arrived on the schedule day at all. - No contact to inform me of what was going on with the movers and what time I could expect someone. - Movers came the next day and were unprofessional. (Slow, swearing loudly, complaining, didn't have all materials they needed) - I contacted company directly to resolve before taking to review forums, but no response has been given. *In fairness I could've dealt with the delays, but wasting my time and not communicating with me is terrible customer service. They obviously have no regard for me personally.* We were scheduled to have movers arrive on May 4, 2017 between 12pm-2pm. When the time passed our scheduled arrival time, I called the dispatch line to get an updated arrival time. We can understand that sometimes things go wrong and more time is needed. I was given a new arrival time of 4pm and the promise of a "guarantee we'll have it done by sun down." Again, I can understand that things happen. By 4pm we had no movers and no update. I called the dispatch and received no answer. I called several times and left messages between 4pm-6pm. I called the sales line and the deposit line and still received no call or no information. We were moving from our home and the new buyers were supposed to walk through the house at 6pm. I had to cancel that arrangement. Additionally, I have a newborn baby and a toddler. I had hired sitters for the day so I could be on-site during the move. Keeping me uninformed, especially heading into the evening hours when I need to focus on my children is unacceptable. Around 6:30pm, I decided to take a chance and text message the numbers for all of the contacts that I had available. The dispatcher finally responded and said he would "find out what was happening." Eventually, I received a call from another person, James, who said he could have a crew arrive by 7:30pm. I could not accept this, as it was well past normal hours, there was diminishing light outside, and I had to be at home for my children, as my sitter was no longer available. Additionally, I would have risked tired movers moving my breakables. I agreed to have someone arrive the next morning. However, I stipulated that it must be at 9am because we had an official and important meeting at 8:30am to close on our home. The new crew arrived the next morning at 8:30am and when they called me were verbally perturbed that I wasn't yet on-site. I explained the situation and that we wouldn't be there until 9am. When we arrived, I explained that we needed to be out of the house by 11am, as this is when the new buyers had to reschedule their walk through (that was forced to cancel due to your company not communicating with me). They seemed to understand that this was a hard stop. The crew finally left our house around 11:50AM, 2 hours and 30 minutes after they started, 50 minutes after requested. Given the last crew we had for our move on March 15, I didn't think it would take more than 1.5 hours, and frankly it shouldn't have, as there was a small portion of the house to move and no large furniture. The previous crew was very efficient and took great care with our items. I don't want to nitpick employees, but they were not prepared for the day and didn't conduct themselves in a professional manner throughout the move. I contacted the business via phone and email and haven't received any response. read more

Update: I had a couple people message me, so I thought I'd update this. I filed a claim with the BBB and finally got a response. Basically they paid me $35 for a $900 headboard because they calculated the weight was 50 lbs. I took the check and just considered it a loss. I've been waiting to give this review because I have been waiting 90 days for a claim to go through. Didn't want my review to affect claim outcome. My movers arrived 3 hours late with no notice. They broke a $900 headboard and dropped numerous other things. They did not have packing supplies or ramps. It took them over 8 hours to move my 4 bedroom townhouse (only 2 bedrooms had furniture) when I had an estimate of 4 hours. During this time the workers were cussing, saying they were treated unfairly, that they "didn't give a shit because they make $10 an hour". It was a total nightmare. All in all, I am about to make my second move and have no idea what else is broken and what other damage I'll have to deal with. Seriously don't waste your time or money because they won't communicate and will ignore any claims you file. read more

DO NOT USE - seriously the worst moving experience!!!! We used this company this past weekend to move to our new apartment down the street. They were scheduled to come 9AM-10AM...3 hours later and they finally show up at 12:15PM. When I called the dispatcher (Mike) he was short in his answers and very rude. The 2 movers that showed up were very polite, and come to find out they had been working for 48 straight hours. Once told the price and charged an additional $85 for the gas/truck to move literally 12 miles - I asked if we would receive any type of discount for them coming 3 hours late and ripping our box spring. The mover said he would call his boss Leo. Leo's response to our simple request was "I don't give discounts".... Wait what? I'm sorry, not only were you 3 hours late, but you made us miss our scheduled move in time, had over worked (slow) employees, I moved everything under 50 pounds, and they ripped a box spring. What kind of business are you running????? TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES BETTER! read more

I would chose another company. When I first called Special ops on the phone, they were very nice. I explained my move to the individual on the phone, and she ask how big my house was, and where i was moving to. The total distance for our move was 7 miles, and a 4 bed 3 bath home. I asked if anyone needed to come out and look, and they said no a job this size will only take 4 hrs. I asked if they could take apart my bed and desk, and then also remove my tv and then remount it. Special ops said yes for sure I would just need to purchase an extra hour, so the move was going to be a total of 5 hrs. The day of our move the movers showed up, and started to load the truck, they were on time. About 1 hour into the job I could tell there were going to be problems. One move came up to me and asked if I could take apart the furniture and bing it downstairs for them. I started to take apart the furniture and then went downstairs, to find the truck still empty. We were now 2 hrs into the job. My wife and I decided to start moving car loads to the new house to help the process along. By the way I should say my entire house was already boxed up and stacked for the movers. I had one bed and two cribs, a desk, and a decent size table with four chairs. Not that much stuff. After about 7 trips my wife and I made, we are now 5 hrs into the move and the truck still was not full. I told the movers just to go to the new house leaving about 15 boxes to my wife and I because it was getting dark. Now at the new house all bets were off. The moves decided to stack my boxes 5 boxes high and throw all my stuff in the garage. It became inaccessible and a danger to walk in. 8 hrs into the job, all my stuff was just thrown about, not damaged, but rushed for sure. None of the furniture was put back together, and they left a huge job for my wife and I. The cost of the entire move was doubled, and the movers we not that great. Not to mention I had to dismount, and remount my TV, which I paid the company to do, and I had to put together my furniture, which I also paid for extra time to do. When all was done the job was 8 hrs not 5, and the job was incomplete. My wife and I did 60% of the work. As they were leaving one mover came up to me, and said "sorry we moved so slow, my partner just didn't really want to work." I called the company the next day, and they were nice and said the manager would get back to me before they charged me. Well its been 7 days and no one has called, I even called back with no success. Do yourself a favor, pick any other company. read more

Hired for a safe move. Guys showed up without a proper dolly (wheel axle was bending when rolling the weight) and no straps. Told the dispatcher that I didn't know the weight on the safe, she looked it up and came up with an estimate that was 100lbs less than the 680 weight tag that we found on it during the move. This was used as an excuse for the remainder of the move. The guys stated they couldn't move it without the safe without me helping them haul it up the stairs. At one point they dropped it while on a dolly on one of their guys, thankfully he was okay. Gash on the floor where they dropped it a different time. In summary nice people but they do not have the equipment or knowledge to move a safe. read more

This was the first time I have used a moving company as opposed to friends and/or family because I was really hoping they would be professional enough to maneuver my belongings from one household to another without incurring damages. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. When researching (not sure which site) but this company displayed really good reviews but now after experiencing their professionalism or lack of, I ran across these reviews and they look totally different. First off, yeah prices were great but if I would have known there was going to be a lack of professionalism within the moving process and with contact thereafter then I would not have even bothered with hiring these guys. This was one of the guys was first day on the job and the other was more experienced with moving yet that does not excuse the damage done to my property. Almost every piece of furniture was damaged. MY MATTRESS WAS RIPPED OPEN in TWO places, so bad that the insides are showing, which was the item that I was most concerned about my friends moving. Secondly, I have contacted this company and spoke with a male which informed me that I should email them the pictures when all I was wanting was them to express concerns for people's personal belongings to their employees. Yet them ignoring me instead of actually following through on anything has really irked me. The communication within this company is definitely lacking. Not only has it not been consistent but there has not been any feedback. Not sure how long this company has been around but if they want to be successful then I would definitely suggest them sharping up their people skills. On that note, I will never use this moving company again. I'd been better off trashing my belongings than relying on these guys. read more

No communication, 8 hours late, and went ridiculously longer than estimated First, I want to clarify that the crew itself was courteous and didn't stop working for even a minute despite poor conditions. So apparently a lot of issues were caused by rain the day before. I understand (now) that rain-slick ramps are unsafe, but when they still had x number of jobs the night before and we were the first job scheduled the next day, they should have at least alerted us and at most scheduled more crew. Also, they wouldn't have been delayed by rain at load/unload if they arrived any time before 4pm. It would have also been nice to know that rain can delay a job, since we had to vacate the apartment the day of the scheduled move. Aside from that, the poor guys were given an unusable dolly so - with most of the distance from door to truck being stairs - they went nearly twice as long as any of the estimates that I gathered. Again, I understand that it's an *estimate* but 6.5 hours vs. 3-4?!?! With all of this, we're asking for a 2-hour discount ($176). We're willing to negotiate on that, but don't have the opportunity because they still haven't called back in 3 days even with us following up multiple times. **UPDATE** After posting reviews on multiple websites, they finally called us back and said they'll give a 1-hour credit. It's better than nothing and at least they contacted us back, so I changed my rating from 1 star to 3. read more
Ivan and Juan - you are the bomb! Had to move a piano and offered to research a company for the buyers. Found Special Ops. What I liked was their calling the day before to confirm, calling the day of to tell us they were on their way, listening to our ideas about ways to get the piano out of a tricky spot, listening to my suggestion of the best route to the buyers home and then...wait for it...patiently redirecting me when I took a wrong turn near the buyers home. I drove in my car in front of them to pick up the check for the purchase. Buyers home offered some more challenges but they bested each one. I'd recommend this company for the above reasons -but I have to hand it to the two movers - Ivan and Juan - they knocked themselves out taking care of the piano. Like Mark H. said - moving ---anything---- is not fun - that's why we hire someone ELSE to do it. BTW, totally legit to tip the movers. Did I mention they did all this on a Sunday? Final thoughts - pricing is right; movers are polite, hard working and intelligent. Do yourself a favor - hire a Vet! They are buff! read more

Warning: Do not use this company! They are also labeled another company name: "Mover's Connection Denver." They break things, have awful movers (drunk and smoked on job) and will not reimburse people for damages (which they also have a large history of doing). Check out their reviews online through the Better Business Bureau: http://www.bbb.org/denver/business-reviews/movers/special-ops-moving-llc-in-denver-co-90165103/. Still waiting on my $150 check they initially agreed to through a third party claims company. I spoke to an absolutely rude person over the phone today. They deny the association with the other company, yet both are owned by Sarah Thorpe and technically remain under the same company. They still owe me $150. I will likely be taking them to small claims court in the upcoming months. Please, do yourself a favor in advance and use an actual, accredited moving company. read more

THE VERY WORST! I went through iRelocate.com and was contacted by this company. I was moving a two bedroom apartment from Aurora Colorado to Denver Colorado. The total miles were about 6-7 miles. When I was contacted by Special Ops Moving I was quoted 700-800 dollars for the move. I personally thought that was reasonable in today the economy of today. The quote was for 5-7 hours for load, drive to the new location and unload. The total time I was charged for was 9.75 hours and 1400.00 dollars. I am sure you can do the math yourself. My wife was totally taken advantage of. The reason I say that is, I was admitted to the hospital the night before the move. She dealt with the movers. When the guys loaded the truck they didn't want to go down the stairs that were about 40 feet from my second-floor apartment. They used the elevator that was down at the other end of the building. Also when they unloaded at the new apartment they didn't want to use the stairs again so they used a very small elevator which added to the off-load time. Note: There were 3 movers. There is no way it should had taken this long! I am basing this on when we moved in I had two movers unload my 24 foot Uhaul in under 3 hours. They used the stairs and not the elevator.... If you use this company, prepare to pay more than what is quoted to you. I will be contacting the BBB. If you are moving you might want to find another company that actually has guys that will actually do what is requested and not take 40-50 percent more time loading and unloading. read more

They lost my family photo albums. Photos of myself with my parents when I was a baby. My parents are dead & these photos can't be replaced. I have photo albums that belong to someone else as well as many other items. Special Ops doesn't seem to care! They took my most precious memories & flushed them down a toilet!!! How would they feel if someone did that to them? read more

Do NOT use this moving company. I'm currently waiting on them to get here with our office furniture. I had office furniture in DTC and Central Denver that needed to be moved to the Arvada office. They Lolly gagged the whole time (prob because they get paid by the hour) took extra long time when they went down to the truck. Long enough one of our directors had to go down to see wtf they were doing, built a desk backwards- had to take it apart and put it back together, their dispatch won't answer the phone... what a shit show. They left Dtc to Arvada 2 hours ago and still no where to be found. This is ridiculous . Never again. And.... they just arrived- made a snide comment that they were being rushed (so that's why they obviously took their time) read more

Most horrible and unethical moving company I know. Did not show up at all! Our client has a spinal cord injury... cannot move himself (literally) or his property. They said they would make it right and would move him for free the next morning... did not show up. Do not do busy with them. They haven't refund his deposit either. They are horrible and they will not show up. They also says that their policy does say... there is no guarantee that they will show up. DON'T do business with anyone who says this unless the world is coming to an end. Wow, they are bad! read more

I had a very bad experience with this company and have told many about how they are not professional. Was three hours late from time scheduled, i still had to pay, asked me for coke , wrestled in my living room took over 21/2 hours to pack because of taking breaks, then on the way to where I was moving stopped for lunch and I was also charged that hour. When I unpacked my china I had for over 30 years was broken and they did nothing about it. Contacted them for over two months and never even responded back. Worst moving experience ever. All my belongings made it here from Texas with no problem. Moving within a 15 mile difference cost me a fortune plus my china broken. I work with military and I don't advise them to use Special Ops they are terrible. read more

Slow. Incompetent. Dishonest. Careless. 10 and a half hours for a three bedroom house (Drive time was 15-20 minutes each way). We took apart AND reassembled all of our furniture. Boxes packed and stacked in front room. Two hours in to the move, we had a couch and the washer and dryer in the truck. The movers were completely unable to perform even basic moving tasks. I watched them try to dolly a washing machine over a bump by pushing it forward instead of pulling it backwards. I watched them measure a doorway to see if a couch would fit because turning it sideways didn't cross their minds. The 27 foot truck was "full" even though there was nothing stacked more than half way to the top of the truck. This of course required an extra trip that would add 3 to 4 hours to the moving time. They will estimate extremely long completion times and then use the estimate to justify the slow, incompetent service. Mike, the dispatch lead was incredibly rude. Office managers make you feel like you are talking to a machine; constantly citing the ridiculous estimate time (which they assure you is always way longer than it takes and you will only be billed for the time used) and completely ignoring any criticism of the service. Please please please do not use this company. I've never felt so helpless when dealing with a service provider of any kind. Just...unbelievable. read more
Special Ops, NOT so Special. Although my boyfriend booked this company rather than myself, I waited with him for 5 painful hours before they finally showed up. They gave him an 8a-10a pickup window and when they didn't show up or call by 10a we had to call several times before we even talked to a representative. They let us know that one of the guys had a "late night" last night and were just waiting on him to show up. An hour passes.. We call again and someone new told us that one of the guys had a family emergency and they were working on finding a second person. An hour passes... Finally at 12, we get a call that they are on their way, should be here in about 20 minutes. 45 minutes passes.... The driver forgot the papers that had our address! Finally at 1:45p, they arrive and begin the move. I give two stars because the two guys that came were very nice. Unfortunately, the customer service was blatantly disrespectful and there was a huge lack of communication between management, employees and us, the customer. The price looks good but I wouldn't recommend this company for your moving needs. read more

I REALLY want to give this company more stars. And I REALLY want to recommend them. But I can't, and I don't. We chose them for the Wounded Warriors aspect and I really do hope the money we paid, in part, goes to them. The good: The guys moving our stuff were excellent and that's the only reason I'm giving any stars at all. They were on time, professional and hauled a$$ to get our stuff on the truck. They worked non-stop and were awesome. The time we were quoted was mostly accurate and I expect it to not be exact since they just don't know until they get in there. The bad: We had a month that we needed our stuff stored in between moves- the storage was free so I guess you get what you pay for. All of our stuff was really dirty when they moved it back in. Additionally, we were missing some of our things and we received other random items that I would assume are someone else's stuff from storage. So maybe everything was piled too close together in a dirty warehouse. Not too horrible though and only a couple things were banged up which I guess can be expected when it's moved 4 times in a month (out of the house, into storage, out of storage, back into the house). They weren't really enthused to un-wrap our larger furniture and put it back together. We asked them to do it right before they were wanting to leave and they did it but it seemed like they were a little irritated. It's not like we weren't paying them to do it... And the cost. Short version: they wouldn't honor the rate we were quoted. Long version: The guy who I initially talked to quoted me a "special discounted rate" - he sent me both quotes for the move out of the first house and into the second. Both quotes were electronic- I approved them and thought that was that. After BOTH moves, the team lead came to me to sign and had a non-discounted rate written down. He said he had no knowledge of the discount and had to call his supervisor. The supervisor was your typical shady guy and apparently the guy who sold me initially is just some contracted sales guy who nobody knows. So after the first move we were able to fwd the email with the confirmed rate and they honored the rate. Then after the second move we had the same issue and after my husband was on the phone with the supervisor for 20 minutes they finally agreed to split the difference between the rate they had and the discounted rate we were quoted. Gee, thanks! I can forgive the dirty stuff and missing stuff and banged up stuff because I guess that just happens when you have a move of this nature. But not honoring the rate we were quoted (and had proof of in electronic format) is just bad business. Do not use these guys. And I would recommend another moving company that isn't shady if I could find one. read more

Absolutley the worse moving experience I've ever had. I'm retired military with more than 26 years-and have moved all-over the world with different moving companies. This is the absolutely the worst moving company. Not only did the workers come to my house unprepared they complained about my furniture being heavy when I listened that on their website. I moved 60% of my furniture because I was selling my house and they could not even complete moving the rest of the 40%. When the movers tried to deliver most furniture to the storage unit it rained. I spoke with the manager he said that they would deliver my furniture the very next day. I had to go out of town an hour's reluctant to do that. I absolutely had no option The company did not deliver mark furniture to my storage unit the very next day they waited till A-day later to deliver my furniture and charge me for 3 hours of work that should have only taken them an hour and 15 minutes. When the furniture was delivered the management at the storage unit witness them dropping my furniture and throwing my furniture into the storage unit. I spoke with the manager and he was reluctant to even help me out with my situation. I had to actually unpack everything that they put into the storage unit woods's cost me work-time to repack the storage unit. What are unpacked the storage unit, I found that there were multiple things damaged. The workers just through my stuff in the 10 by 30 storage shed without any thought process whatsoever. When I return to town, I open my storage unit and was Appalled at what I saw. I took photos and I call the manager and he was less than helpful. I've had multiple conversations with the manager and have spoken to him about the issue with no resolution to the problem. Not only did the damage my furniture throw my stuff in my storage unit but they took my 3 week-old Dolly that I bought from Lowe's. I still have not received it back. As a veteran in a consummate professional in everything that I do I would have expected a h*** of a lot more From a company that portrays themselves as being better and friendly. At this point I have to get my lawyer involved to recoup and get some restitution for the experience that I've had. The company was more than willing to it take my money and then provide me with an unexperienced staff to move my expensive furniture. I would rate this company add negative 5 read more

Paid $400 flat fee and received damaged safe, damaged patio and broken flower pot. Response from James 'you want me to pay for your flower pot without an insurance claim'. No James I want a partial refund due to failure of service and damaged property. This issue will be turned over to AMEX, I don't have time to deal with these clowns. Fool me once Scroll down and you will see the 5-star review from Leslie Cubbage, amazingly she will also be the first person you speak with to schedule your move. Beware of fake and misleading postings so you don't get fooled once. Instead read the one stars and the follow up response by management and ownership. I'm sure I will receive a subpar response attributing blame to the customer like the other postings out here. For the record they moved a 27-gun gun safe up 4 large concrete stairs on a dolly with a flat tire without strapping it down. The safe slid off the dolly and smashed the concrete patio on the face of the safe. The only thing that broke the fall was a large flower pot. Thanks James for your concern over my flower pot, your customer service skills are abysmal. I am more concerned about your movers and the physical property than you are; maybe it's time to take 2 weeks off and quit. Stolen Valor Moving Company read more

Wow, what a pain. This is a horrible company to work with. They didn't show up on the day they were contracted to come, then came 2 hours late the next day. You would think you would get great service at that point but were in such a rush they put a hole in the wall, scratch doors, broke wheels off furniture etc. When they actually got it moved and put in the new house the furniture was scratched, dented, chipped, and gouged. As they were bringing in the first piece of furniture they dragged it across the new hardwood floors and marred them. After pointing this out to the movers they tried to tell us you could just rub it out. After pointing out the damage and now being moved in for close to 1 1/2 weeks they have made no effort to fix or pay for damage. The special phone number they provide for you to call was to be answered 24 hours a day. No one answered like they said they would. They also asked us to sign a page with the phone number on it but then didn't have a copy to leave with us. I would stay as far away from this company as possible. read more

We used SOM for several local moves in the past few years which worked out fine. at that time service and dependability was solid. Recent move 75 miles south of Denver not as good-movers showed up nearly 40 minutes late, loaded quickly then their truck would not start. I attempted to jump start, failed to work. Turned out they ran out of gas, and a mechanic had to be called to work on the fuel line as well. This created a 5 hour delay in my delivery, which was a bit nerve racking in our right schedule. To make matters worse, the manager was less than hospitable on the phone, simply saying there was nothing he could do about this lateness. I asked if another truck was available no response. Delivery was great once they arrived, the guys humped it hard. Also, still have not received my invoice 5 days later, and when asked for a price reduction due to their issues, would not budge. Overall not the best experience, their manager needs training on handling upset customers. Also, I had to call the dispatch several times in the morning wondering when the truck was arriving, took a long time to have someone answer. Would not use this company again. read more

This was the worst experience I ever had with a moving company. First this company came to my house without being confirmed. Moving tends to be stressful and this company made it worst. The two man crew were unable to moved my entire house, so I had find another way to move my remaining stuff. I called the company and was told I should have called if all my stuff was not move. UPDATE: The owner is trying to bully me into changing my reviews. I called the CO Public Utilities Commission and since they charged me $200 over the estimate this is in clear violation of state regulations. Movers are not permitted to charge over 10% of the estimate. Special Ops refuses to take responsibility and has been rude and threatening. If the threats escalate I will file a police report. If this company overcharges 10% of the estimate, please file a complaint with Federal and State agencies. The CO PUC can be reached at 303-894-2000. Special Ops Moving quoted me over the phone for 85/hour, no additional gas fees and a 3 hour max time frame. They were 2 hours late on a perfect weather day, Saturday with no traffic. Purposely took their time and turned a 3 hour job into 5 hours. They damaged my furniture and took 45 minutes to drive 6 miles between the properties. At the end, they added in an extra 85 gas fee in the contract in the fine print. Very dishonest and poor service. They refused to discount for being late and providing poor service. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Unprofessional, extremely shady company. Use at your own risk. Did not wrap belongings when picked up, charged hundreds more than quoted, large items moved were broken, dirty, and missing. Showed up 9 hours late for delivery. The manager, James, is the rudest person I have ever talked to and the owner of the company, Mike Gayton, is somehow even worse. They fraudulently communicated with my credit card company to get paid twice. Now they will not answer any calls from me or my credit card company. I'm not happy. I didn't personally hire these people to move but my roommate did when she moved out. I came home to find out that my roommate was moving out and my front door was wide open (yes I get it the door needs to be open when someone moves out.) But when I asked the guy how long my front door had to be open he replied with way more sass than was necessary. "Well we have to move stuff" (I have cats I don't want lost) Everything seemed to go fine after that UNTIL: They broke a chunk out of my $10,000 hardwood floors! Now I could normally not freak out about this but my floors are stained a very dark chocolate color and the gouge in my floor is right in the middle of my house.... No big deal right? I just contact the company and boom it's fixed... I WAS SO WRONG! It's been almost 4 months of them not contacting my husband back or tiptoing around it... This company is a complete joke. My husband told me to stay out of it but he's now fed up as well. I WANT MY FLOOR FIXED. I want to not have a rug looking out of place over this hole in my floor. This is so completely wrong. I've seriously spent nights crying in frustration because I photograph my home and it is ruining pictures. I see this hole constantly everyday and I hate it. What makes this worse is I didn't even hire them. I'd never even heard of them. This needs to be made right or legal action will be taken! read more

They let my dog get out. All they had to do was shut the front door when moving her from bedroom to bedroom. They didn't even look for her, just went back to moving my things. She was killed by a car the next day. She was two years old and the light of my life. Literally, hiring this company was the worst decision I've made in my life. Not that I cared at this point, but they also damaged my dining room table and there was missing pieces to both beds. Josh and his helper both looked extremely young and unprofessional (they were dressed like high school thugs). They arrived 1-2 hours earlier than the window, and then lied about it later (why, I'm not sure). Furthermore, I was assured by the receptionist that they would be there toward the end of the window... read more

I was really nervous about hiring movers, as many of the other companies had some pretty mixed reviews (and one of them had some TERRIBLE reviews...it was plain, from the posts, that these weren't just fake posts with people trying to cause trouble, they were for real). Well, Special Ops did a fantastic job. Their communication was fabulous: they called the week of the move, then the day before the move, and then in the morning before they headed out, to make sure we were all on schedule. Two fresh-faced, polite, (CLEAN!!) young former service-men showed up and were quick hard workers. Great attitudes, sweet, friendly, and professional. The price was very reasonable, and these are Vets, so not only is it a good deal, with conscientious workers, it's supporting veterans as well. I'd recommend this company for sure! read more

I recently engaged Special Ops Moving to help me with a move, and I cannot say nicer things about this company. This was the most efficient and painless move I've ever had. The 2 gentlemen -- and I do mean gentlemen -- arrived on-time. They were polite and friendly. They quickly began the move, and I couldn't believe how fast they both worked! Everything was well cared for and wrapped to protect it -- and there was no damage to any of my property! They were done very fast, and I was extremely happy with the results. The 2 movers that I had were Michael and Chuck. I cannot rave more about them. If you want 2 reliable, hard-working, efficient, polite, friendly and (dare I say it) fun movers, see if Michael and Chuck are available. I'm sure the entire staff at Special Ops are just as good, but these 2 I can recommend personally. They were terrific and made my move as stress free as possible. The Denver location should be investigated and someone should be arrested!! They have lost and damaged the majority of my parents belongings. Everything smelled like weed, box's were opened and rummaged through. My parents just retired and moved to Arizona, Specia Op's were supposed to deliver to her on Friday morning, after several phone calls, someone finally called her back stating there were "mechanical problems," will be there Saturday morning, Saturday morning came and went, this time no one returned a phone call!! Saturday night they showed up, missing over half their belongings, and the mover informed us they didn't even load the truck until 11:30 Friday night!! There were no "Mechanical problems"! After being told her belongings would be in a pod until ready to move, their stuff was just thrown in a wearhouse they didn't know who's stuff was who's!! (From the movers) They load up guessing what might belong to that person!! The items that did arrive were severely damaged!! My moms 80 year old table and buffet were scratch very badly, chairs were broken, dresser looks like someone punched a whole through it! They say they are "vetren" friendly, my dad is a vet, my parents are senior citizens, and this is how they treat them?! They won't return a phone call!! The "owner" Leo is rude, unprofessional, and aggressive! Scheduled a meeting with them for 5:30 pm He finally showed up 47 minuets late! All I can say is god I had a police officer with me, I couldn't imagine his behavior if the officer wasn't there. I felt very threatened! If you value your belongings don't use this company!! Read their reviews and look at the over 40 complaints filed with the BBB!!! Stay away, far away!! read more

YELP SHOULD ALLOW NEGATIVE STARS,! Do not under ANY circumstance hire Special ops AKA delta force movers unless you want to be cheated, lied to and have your delivery held ransom. I have pages of documentation but once they have your goods, nothing matters but more money. The actual workers work hard..once...you pay management again an again...oh and trying to find out who is who is a very interesting adventure. A written and signed estimate with Delta Force of 6287...with me a 66 year old woman doing all the packing of inside house using own boxes and material turned into an 8500 job with Special ops. They cited unpacking at Warehouse as the extra cost even though I was looking directly at the daily bill of laden that added the extra time and was zeroed out each day. They tried to make me go get a certified check for the additional money (@ 1100 Friday when we were closing). Administration said they only took 2000 on credit card. I told them how interesting because I had already paid over 5000...on a credit card...response...OH...KEPT CALLING AND CALLING and messaging and messaging...texted...Delta Force and it was sent back to Special Ops...Their web pages state they work with and donate to veterans...well someone needs to make them prove that hook...my husband is a retired disabled veteran and all this company did was take advantage of him. I DO NOT KNOW HOW DOT allows this group to keep a license. DO NOT HIRE!! read more

Special OPS Moving & Storage also known as Movers Connection YOU HAVE NOW BEEN WARNED!!! Do not use this company! The office manager, Acacia and the owner Sarah Thorpe's boyfriend Michael are liars and thieves!!! Your belongings will be stolen if you use their storage facility. Furniture and boxes will be gone and they won't bother returning your calls. Do Not Sign ANYTHING if you pick your items up from their storage. This is how they will scam you about the mediation company in Florida...which is a joke to deal with also! Don't fall for "sign here or you cannot pull away from the dock!" Drive AWAY...you will find you are missing a lot of belongings. What you do have will be broken, gouged and trashed!!! They do not hire Veterans, They lost their BBB Rating and if you think the Attorney Generals Office or P.U.C. at D.O.R.A. will help, that's a joke too! If you have anything in their storage facility, you better get insurance! Let your Insurance company fight with them and win JUDGMENTS. They have numerous ones against them. I was shown copies of the Judgments when I went to go file a claim against them in April 2016. LOSERS!!! LIARS and THIEVES!!! Oh, They also DO NOT HIRE VETERANS...marketing ploy, like the Sign of the FISH! read more

My husband and I are in the army and relocate regularly. We had to move within the Springs this month and use our own choice of movers. We chose Special Ops moving. We saw the reviews werent all great but I know more people ususally leave reviews if the experience was bad versus good or average. I decided to give them the opportunity since they donate to Vets in need. These movers were so great! They worked so hard and were so nice and polite and asked me where I wanted my items placed. Took extra care going through the tight corners with the large items. There were a few marks on the walls(to be expected) I don't really know how they even got the pieces through but they did. I was very impressed and would recommend Special Ops anytime. When talking with Specail Ops I wondered why they had so many poor reviews and they said they move 300-400 people per month and only have 1% complaints. They encourage people to leave good reviews and it doesnt always happen so I wanted to make sure I left a good one for them because they deserve it! read more

Tony and Reggie were FANTASTIC. They arrived promptly at 9am (when they were expected between 9 and 10am), wrapped and padded everything required, worked literally non-stop until 6:15pm when the entire 26 ft truck was loadednacrossnthree stops and then unloaded into our new home. The only break they seemed to take was when driving and when I bought them Snarf's sandwiches (their first time having them :)). We couldn't be happier with our move, and we couldn't have done it without Tony and Reggie. The staff at Special Ops were great, too. Incoming call, scheduling, down payment, and when we had to reschedule our move, were all easy and straight forward. Our neighbor had recommended Special Ops, I will definitely recommend them as well. Compared to Two Men and a Truck and All My Sons, Special Ops had better value and after our experience, I'm not sure how their moving service could be beat. read more

Major shout out to these guys who helped us move a couple of months ago. Efficient, kind, professional and fast. The two-man team worked like an army. They understood that their time was our money and although they were entitled to for sure, neither of them took breaks. They worked hard and moved us with nothing broken, scratched or damaged and no one hurt. I was recovering from the flu and was low on energy to begin with. Their work ethic and strength was so impressive. Seriously, two guys felt like ten as they moved and loaded/unloaded their truck. Give those guys a bonus because I've never seen two people do the work of so many in such a short amount of time. And the programs for injured troops that you support with extra revenue? Nothing short of amazing. Recommending to anyone moving in the Denver metro area. read more

I wanted to write a review on this company Special Ops Moving and Storage. These guys were great. On my last move I downsized tremendously into a smaller house. These guys came and picked up all my oversized furniture and belongings that would not fit into this tiny house. They packed it all up and put into there storage facility for a really reasonable price. I also opened up an office out of state as well as a small apartment when I have to travel there for work. These guys do long distance moves and was great they not only moved a whole HUGE office and unloaded furniture into the apartment but they set it all up for me!!! FANTASTIC!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Super Service! This moving company was the best my husband and I have ever used. Jamal and Anthony greeted us with a smile when they arrived and where very quick and helpful to our moving needs. They were extremely accommodating and friendly. They never skipped a beat, and where I would have been banging the corners of end tables into door frames, they never scraped a single item or showed a lack of care for our furniture. They wrapped are dresser to my satisfaction and were careful with every box labeled fragile. None of my personal items broke during the move. After all was said and done they clearly explained the rate and final bill. Their tips were well-deserved and I'd recommend them to anyone that's looking for reliability and efficiency at a great cost. read more

Stay away guys !!! Save yourself headaches , wasted time and money . I hired this supposedly moving company to move some of my furniture and equipment . They delibaretely broke an expensive kitchen equipment , a Turbo Air Refrigerated Bakery Case. They tought it will be easier to transport if they took it apart . They removed the front sealed glass and broke it in pieces.. They did so without my permission rendering the bakery case useless. After filing a claim they offered me pennies on the dollar , which was another insult, ignored my phone calls and called me a liar. The case is still pending in Denver court . Those people have no conscience or sense of duty and you would do yourself a big favor by looking for another moving company . read more

Hired them to move a piano. Arrival window was 9-10. I got a call at 10:30, after waiting for two hours, that they won't be able to arrive until 2-4pm. I had blocked off half a day of work. I had them come the next day instead. The 4 people who were supposed to come at the rate I was quoted, were only 3 people, an hour late. Scratched the wall moving the piano, but I had signed several waivers of which didn't hold them liable for floors and wall damage. I asked for a discount for the poor service and for missing a half day of work for nothing. Nothing. The movers were nice enough guys and when the finally showed up they had the right tools and were quick, but everything else was pretty disappointing. read more

I recently made the move out of Denver. Special Ops Moving was amazing. Tony was my crew chief and we had 6 people to pack us and 6 to move us. I can say this was the easiest move I have yet made and who likes to move? I think the fact that I trusted the people in my house and liked their personalities as I got to know them helped put me at ease. The crews were very professional and handled all my belongins with the utmost care.. I would highly recommend Special Ops to anyone in need. Mike came to my house to do the walk through and he was so awesome. Such a nice guy. The booking process was extremely easy and they went over all the information very well. Thank you! You guys are great! read more

I'm normally used to moving from place to place myself, however, I now needed help. Special Ops moved in quick in responding to my email and getting me just the right amount of help for what I needed. David Jr and David Sr. were extremely helpful and with the amount of stress I was going through at that time, actually make me calm and laugh with them. At first I thought the price was a bit high, but for all the stress I was going through and amount of pain my body would have felt doing it alone, it was well worth every penny. Thank you Special Ops and thank you both David's I'm impressed and relieved. All I need now is to unpack all the stuff. read more

The crew that came out were very friendly and polite with customer service at the top of their list. I had a very limited amount of space for them to pack everything into and they fit it all, and all the while letting me know how it would be protected and the best way to unload. they took extreme care to protect my house and all the contents they packed. I just with I could use them when I get back to Northern California, but they only have offices in Southern California. HIGHLY RECOMEND this company. read more

I called Special Ops Moving and was immediately greeted in a professional and friendly manner. This trend continued throughout the moving process. Scheduling, loading, unloading and paperwork were all done in a timely and efficient manner. The movers were polite and professional and did a great job. A quality control representative even stopped by to make sure everything was going OK. I would be sure to recommend Special Ops moving to anyone. Great job Guys!!! read more

This is a company of thugs, gang members and thieves in Denver. DO NOT USE this company located at: Special Ops Moving 4571 W Hurst Place Denver CO 80204 844-372-9778 DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I am filing a complaint against them with the IC3 (FBI) as our property has been stolen from the very movers. Do yourself a favor and save yourself much stress - CALL ANYONE ELSE to move you - we wish we did! Very Concerned Coloradoan! read more

This is the first time I've used professional movers, so I was a little nervous. These guys were phenomenal! They were on time and within the window we had agreed upon - they even called in advance to say they were on their way. I had 3 guys and a 26-foot truck. They worked so fast and efficiently it was unbelievable. They had the entire truck loaded in less than an hour. I would definitely use them again. read more

Special ops moved me into my new place yesterday in Cherry Creek and I'm just delighted to be here. With all the shopping restaurants and fine dining and beautiful views. There were a few hiccups along the way as with any move, but overall I was definitely impressed. I would highly recommend special ops! read more
