No, not like the one you tried to make as a 10 year old. This flax bag is the BOMB. It's secure and makes a perfect gym bag. No more smelly gym gear. I guess because it's a natural, breathable material, even wet towels come out of it smelling fresh. Expensive, but brilliant nonetheless. On my last visit I was delighted to see they now also have a wonderful range of quirky terraniums and indoor plants. They close at 2 so first thing on Monday morning I rag the store only to be rudely advised that if I couldn't remember my things it's my own fault and the goods were back on the shelves. But I shouldn't complain because the bargains she find usually benefit me in some way or another. The latest purchase was a pretty cool handbag. Excellent condition, black, and perfect for every day use. It's got so many pockets for my crap I can fit all my nick nacks in it! The last time I went to this Hospice I arrived early - just as they were opening. I was so surprised to find people outside literally gathering around the door! There were seriously about 12 people milling through the car park waiting for the beloved doors to open. It was incredible. When they were opened everyone dashed inside and started looking around. Such a weird experience. Anyway moral of the story - so worth having a look, even if you have to queue outside the door as it opens.

If you ever have an old couch,bed,drawer set,set of chairs you name any household product; the kind folk of this Salvation Army store will be happy to take it from you. I would say that home ware item's are the most popular selling item in store, and even kitchen ware such as old pots, and cook wear are the go as well. I would only ever pop in to search for a cast iron pan if that, but do admire the selection and variety of home and kitchen products. The staff are helpful, and the store does get quite a few browsers- if you're after a bargain, the prices are reasonable and inexpensive. I know that the old couch or bed that we don't need any more, can serve a purpose and help a struggling family in my community, so please do your part if you can.

To my surprise, as I got closer I noticed the sign outside requesting Trelise Cooper, Annah Stretton etc, and curiosity got the better of me. When I walked inside I noticed that most of the stock looked to be of good quality and in good condition, but looked to me to be for the funky, older ladies of Birkenhead Point. Definitely catering more for the 50-somethings than people of my age. I had a chat with the shop assistant and their selling policy seems pretty fair, and equitable with most recycled clothing shops around town. They seem to be quite discerning with their choice of stock too.

The racks are jam packed with clothes so there's not much room for maneuvering around inside. If there are other people in the store at the same time as you it can get a bit tricky making your way around. The racks are all colour co-ordinated so you can at least rule out any items you wouldn't want based on colour. But that's about all you can do to help your hunt. Once you've established where you're going to start sifting, sifting is all you can do. I came here last week and pillaged through many of the racks. I tried a few things on and did come away with a gorgeous top. It was a beautiful soft heavy fabric and was the most brilliant blue-ish colour. I also tried on a red dress, which I decided I didn't want to pay $40 for. The shop assistant told me to come check in again as they lower the prices of unsold items after about six weeks. I will certainly be doing so!

The first thought was to package the leftovers and drop it in at IHC Op shop. The ladies in store where delighted to have the old gear, which also included about two boxes of books my family had read. This charity organisation op shop is a fantastic place to take your personal belongings and trust they will sell and use the money raised towards the good of the Intellectually Handicapped Person. Having known that this is where the money is directed towards, I am always more than willing to give items no longer needed in my household to this worthy cause. As a shopper in the IHC I really like the range of home ware items like vases, bowls, or platters. I also love the homemade marmalade for sale here made by the volunteer ladies a treat, and a magical old recipe.

While this shop can be a bit hit and miss like most places of the thrift store variety, if you are lucky or wearing your lucky pair of knickers for the day you could find something worth the time it took you to search, which is always a good pay off. When I was in here the other day, I managed to find a really good almost new kettle for like $5 and a throw for my bed for even less than the kettle, so It must have been a good day. When I was in there I also saw a pretty serviceable little couch for a measly $100 bucks which I told one of my friends about who is shifting flats at the moment so she went in to snap that up and also found a sweet rocking chair for a minimal price too!
