After trusting them to perform a simple dental cleaning on my dog she was returned with extractions that I was not made aware of and was expected to pay for. Further more the worker who returned my dog to me couldn't tell me which teeth were removed. My dog then developed a severe urinary tract infection only 2 days post OP. This infection was evident on her pre op labs but no action was taken forcing me to pay an additional 160 for a BASIC urinalysis. The typical price for a urinalysis is around 80 (I question the disparity to see if there was a reason for the increased price and was given a snarky retort that lacked explanation. After waiting over a week for results my dog developed bladder stones directly related to her infection. When I went in to see where her results were I was informed they had received them the same day I had brought her sample in and they couldn't figure out why I hadn't been notified. These results revealed the severity of her condition. The vet then prompted me to get a urine culture which takes even longer to get results for; with my background knowledge I can confidently say this was done just for money. She desperately required a less invasive, more immediate, and inexpensive ultrasound in order to diagnose her bladder stones. Waiting for the return of a culture left my dog at risk for a kidney infection or worse. Due to their obvious negligence and lack of communication throughout the situation I took my dog to a different vet where she required surgical intervention due to the progression of her stones. This cost just under 2000. While the money alone is upsetting my dog had to suffer for weeks through something that could've been fixed with a $25 prescription, had the vet taken the proper actions after reading pre op test results. If you care about your pets, your wallet, and your dignity do not go to this veterinarian. They are unorganized and would rather let your pet suffer in order to drag out testing and surgeries for their own profit. If you are looking for quality vet care with a team that is actually passionate about you and your pets I recommend Firetower animal clinic as they were able to finally help my sweet girl, they even provided her pain medication to help reduce discomfort until they could get her in for surgery. Please if you find this and have had similar experiences I implore you to report them to the veterinary board of medicine as I am not the only one who has done so. This behavior will not stop until they are shut down and I am confident people have lost their pets without knowing who was really at fault.

I don't remember much about my 50's except Sophie always being there)... fell ill last weekend. In the middle of the night I heard a "thump!" and woke up to ask my husband what was going on and he said that Sophie had misjudged and missed her death defying leap onto the bed from the hassock. I wasn't too worried.. she does that occasionally (after all, she wasn't raised by a cat momma and I don't leap very well)... So when I woke up to go to work out of town, I noticed that Sophie was lying on the hard floor next to the Roomba. I picked her up and noticed that when I put her back down, she didn't want to walk. I figured she'd dislocated something during her failed bed leap attempt.. so I called you and then told my husband to take her to you while I went to work out of town. I got back from my gig and Daniel gave me the devastating news: Sophie, who had beaten the odds over and over (as an orphaned kitten and then undergoing nuclear therapy for hyperthyroid a few years back).. was going to succumb to a "saddle thrombosis".. I looked it up and was completely shattered.... However, you sent her home with a prescription and instructions to apply heat and massage the leg and paw so that's what we did. We got the drugs into her and I spent the entire rest of Sunday on the bed with her constantly massaging her leg and reheating the hot water bottle and giving her pain meds. I called my cat vet in Wilmington and left a message. They called back immediately Monday morning and we got to The Sound Cat (Dr. Rosemary Williams) by 10 am. Dr. Rosemarie did her thing (and she's amazing too) and already Sophie had regained a pulse in her thigh and some warmth in her toes.. Dr. Williams said that the constant massaging and heat applied to Sophie on Sunday was in all likelihood what contributed to her vast improvement on Monday morning. Dr. Williams sent us home with more drugs and a splint for Sophie's lower leg. We got home and continued the therapies and drugs. Sophie was active, eating and drinking.. and we went back to Wilmington today. As of today, Sophie's heart ultrasound shows no more clots. She is walking with a minimum of problems and we will continue the rest of her life giving her the drugs to keep her heart free of clots to avoid this situation in the future. If it wasn't for the immediate care we received from the Pet Emergency Clinic here in Greenville, I shudder to think of what the outcome might have been. Thank you SO SO SO SO much for taking care of Sophie on Sunday. I'm not ready to be without her. You guys are wonderful!!!

The cat is still going strong and is a happy pet. Two months ago, we went back and adopted a one year old dog and once again we brought him home and he is a great pet. Shelters are not the best place for abandoned animals, a home is the best place, but I am grateful that the Humane Society is there for the ones that don't have a home, yet.

Pearl succumbed to her disease and old age at age seventeen, and we could not have asked for better care when it came time for her to 'go to sleep.' While saying goodbye to her was very traumatic, I do not think we would have coped well at all without the compassionate care we received.
