Tried this new spa, thanks largely to a coupon mailer that offered $40 off of an 80-min massage. Booyah! I am so there. Reservation was a breeze. They have a slick website that lets you pick your desired days, hours and attendant. I like that their last appointment is at 5:30. It's perfect for after-work therapy. The location is also ideal, being at the Summit Mall, which is close to my neighborhood. They also have a automated reminder service, because you know, there's a likelihood that I forgot I had a massage appointment. Yeah, right. Out at the lobby, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist. I filled out the mandatory paperwork and chose the scent of the lotion the masseuse was going to use on me, as well as the music during the service. Nice. She then led me to the back where the actual waiting area is located. There was a shower, a changing room. and lockers to store your personal belongings. The actual waiting area was dimly lit, with comfortable couches, and a tea/water station for the guests' use. After changing into the robe and the slippers they provided, I was more than ready. Andrea was my therapist for the night. The room she placed me in was sparse, but still warm and inviting, especially the heated massage bed. After a few questions and instructions, Andrea went to work. SHE.WAS.AMAZING. I've been to many massages in my life. It's one of my favorite vices, second only to you-know-what. That would be food, for those of you who are wondering. The best thing about her is that she listened. To say that I have 'problem areas' would be an understatement, but she really took the time to address them all. She would check with me what I thought of the pressure and adjust accordingly. Trust me, I've had therapists who ask, but do it their way anyway. She also limited the conversation, as I indicated on the paperwork that i filled out before coming in. Soon, the 80-min massage was over. I checked the time, mind you, and I actually got a few more minutes of service. Andrea didn't rush me or anything. I really like that. If I have to be nit-picky, the only thing I would say was a minus was that the waiting area is on the small side, and the room that I was in was close to the waiting room, and the conversation from there can be heard in my room. But I consider these things minor. I'm not planning of spending too much time in the waiting area, and it's not Spavia's fault if some customers are loud. Overall, I highly recommend. They are running a special promo/pricing for their membership. I am seriously considering it, but will need approval from the budget committee, lol. Check them out! Quick update: The owner showed great customer service today by providing restitution to an otherwise unpleasant experience. My first visit to Spavia was via a Groupon gift for a 50 minute facial and 60 minute massage. The location is easy access in Summit mall a few doors down from Apple store. I entered the business to a small reception area up front. After filling out some quick paperwork, I was promptly taken back to the changing area where I got into a robe and slippers and secured my personal belongings in a locker. Had a seat in the men's waiting area and was soon met by my facial technician. I was a little apprehensive because it was my first ever facial. Had absolutely no idea what to expect. I got very luck and my technician was Tammy, who was excellent. She explained everything she was doing, so for me the facial was interesting as well as relaxing. Highly recommend Tammy if you need a facial. Not the first massage of my life, so I have some things to compare this to. My massage therapist was also very good. She did not talk as much, which was just fine with me, and most importantly she did a great job. Great experience. Highly recommend. read more

It is difficult to find a reasonable price and quality massage in Reno and this is one of the nicer ones I have been too. We purchased a pre-paid package of three massages each. Just make sure you use the 3 massages within the three month period or they expire. And it is good for a signature (basic) massage any other type (deep tissue) is an extra price. Nice facility that has a shower and nice relax area with tea or water available that you can hang out in as long as you like before or after your massage. I had a membership and did monthly massages for a year or so. I then increased my massages to twice a month and finally found someone that I thought was really good. I was scheduled today at 1pm. I arrived early and was asked if I had an appointment in which I told them with Mark. They inform me that Mark is no longer with spavia and they apologized that no one called me. Life is too short for bad service. There are better places in Reno I hope since I closed down both my wife and my account. I have a monthly membership here and have been going for about a year now. The facilities are clean and modern. Front desk staff are super nice and helpful. They have various bath items for sale but never push them. On my first visit they had me fill out a form indicating preferences such as scents, music, pressure, and whether I like conversation during massage, which was pretty cool. They provide lockers, a changing room, showers and the usual amenities. Robes are nice and roomy. There is hot tea, water and some nice little breath mints in the waiting room. I've seen several therapists there, and all have been skilled. Sarah was the first therapist to ever introduce me to glute work when I told her I couldn't sleep on my side due to hip pain. I will now never get another massage without it. She is awesome. I see Christina for my regular visits. She is an amazing therapist and I absolutely love her technique and demeanor. She hones right in on my painful areas and works them out. She has a lot of strength and is able to do some serious deep tissue work. I do not think I could get through the month without her anymore. My only complaint is that I can't see her every weekend. See her if you can but book early. She's super popular. read more

I was able to accumulate service credits during the closure to use when they were allowed to reopen. I enjoyed my time with E-Christy, she was awesome! The services I had was the eyebrow waxing and hydraderm facial. My face feels great! E-Christy helped to explain to me the skin concerns I'm having with my brown spots and what products would be helpful to use to help reduce the coloring on my skin. I'm a person who loves the outdoors and realize their not going anywhere, so reducing the coloring is perfect. During COVID-19, the robes, showers are not accessible which is understandable during these crazy times. My appointment started right on time and ended a few minutes after the time given for each service. All in all, staff was professional, friendly and informative. Loved it! My son bought me a Mothers Day treat here. I used the gift certificate for a 1 hour sports massage. I finished the RTO on Saturday and then on Sunday scheduled the massage to make sure my muscles were recovered for work on Monday. Brandy was my masseuse and she did great. This place offers a monthly membership for like $59/month and you can schedule a massage or facial every month. It's for sure worth it. They offer online booking which is very convenient. The front desk staff is very helpful and accommodating. I asked several questions and they were able to provide thorough answers and made sure I was happy with my visit. This is the place in Reno for deep tissue massages. The front desk staff was super cool and explained everything in detail. The paperwork had questions about music, drink, lotion, and conversation preferences and it was nice to have a lot of options. They had a bunch of stuff that I didn't even think about like lavender scented neck pillows, a large variety of teas, and an awesome retreat area. As someone who frequents the gym, I have plenty of sore muscles and tight spots that need special work and the massage therapists here are always able to accommodate. Just had my second ever massage and this time it was a deep tissue massage at Spavia. My last massage was at the now closed Haven so that is my only comparison. When you walk in you're welcomed and signed in by a nice receptionist. The receptionist leads you back to the changing area where your robe and slippers are waiting. The one part about Spavia that is not as good as Haven is the amenities offered. Haven had a steam room and sauna to read in and Spavia has neither of these. My masseuse Christina give this place an extra star. She was great and definitely an expert in deep tissue massages. I left feeling a "good sore". The following day my body felt rejuvenated. If this place had a steam room or sauna it would have been a super hit. read more

A few weeks ago I went for my appointment and when the front desk asked the covid questions, I responded "yes, I have had contact with someone covid positive" because I am a registered nurse. I was politely asked to return at a later date due to answering yes to the above question. Within the hour of the incident the owner of Spavia called to inform me her staff had made a mistake and that since I wear proper protective equipment I am welcome to have a treatment. She apologized several times, and was even generous enough to pay for the next treatment I booked. It is clear the owner cares very much about her customers and our local health care providers. My girlfriend and I came to their grand opening back in February (March?). First class all the way. We both signed up on the spot for the monthly Signature treatments. For $65 (the price has gone up since then) a month, you receive either a 60 minute signature facial, 80 minute signature massage or a 60 minute wrap. On top of that, you receive 10% off merchandise and you can get 2 gift certificates to bring friends for $49 each. This is now our special monthly girls night. We always arrive earlier and bring munchies, beverages and catch up while lounging in our robes waiting for our service. Let me tell you about the service! The reception staff are lovely. They always remember us and take us to our lockers with our robes and slippers waiting as well as bringing us glasses for our beverages. The owner, Merirae is wonderful! She is as sweet as they come and always has time to chat with us for a bit. We are not consistent with the days that we come, so we have been able to receive treatments from several estheticians and massage therapists. I have not had a bad treatment with anyone. Everyone has been very professional and thoughtful. After our treatments, we usually hang out for a couple of minutes, drinking our water and trying to come to from our spa coma before driving home. The first few months, my husband would ask me when if I was going to cancel my membership. He has since stopped asking me as he knows that will never happen! I'm so happy Spavia has come to Reno.
