Very disappointing. This is long but worth the read ---I had Luz clean our airbnb in Saugatuck Michigan. Initially she was very pleasant to work with, communication was alright, would have to call her to get a response sometimes. We gave her our credit card number to just charge when job was complete, always paid on time. We were hoping a for a long time business relationship year round. Our reviews from guests were great. But then communication kept getting lost or I wasn't confident she would get the job done. Sometimes she said she's not sure she could make it and when I would press I thought she had this on the schedule she would make it sound like I was making her do something. She continued to tell me the dryer wasn't working and would have to charge more hours. We had a repair man come over and he told us nothing was wrong with the dryer. I also told her a number of times where the supply closet key was to restock and where the extra linens were- after the last visit I understood she never used any of the extra towels or linens and never restocked since she didn't know where any of it was. This is also why she charged so many hours due to the fact she was washing all linens straight from the beds when she could of used extra sheets and towels and shorten her time at the house. I even removed thicker towels and comforters to make drying faster for her. I don't think she even noticed. A few weeks ago I messaged her what our check in and out times were and also sent her exact dates guests were coming. I always made sure to ask her before each guest arrived if the house was ready, I wasn't confident it was. She told me house was great and ready to go. Guests showed up and only one bed was made, laundry still in dryer, and wet towels on top of the dryer. She told me excuses that the checkout time didn't give her enough time to clean and that she doesn't work Saturdays. She was able to clean on Sunday and I also asked her if this was alright. She confirmed yes. She also told me since the work wasn't done she wouldn't charge us this time. I agreed and then I get a text that she would like to be charged for the work she did for that clean. She did thankfully go back over to the house and make the rest of the beds. I just told her to charge the card $200 to be done with it. If she couldn't clean the house in between this stay I would have simply gone over to the place and clean myself. She knows that I live 2 hours away and I can plan ahead. She is a business owner and can decide when she would like to work. I felt like I was having to tell her when to go over. I don't know how she runs her business for personal homes but if you are trying to run a rental vacation home I highly recommend not hiring her. Very disappointing and I didn't have any crazy requests. I am just so lucky I was able to find a new cleaner for the summer and rest of the year. read more

BEWARE SCAMMERS ... Terrible ! This company is a joke and a rip off. We got a quote for a 1000sqft basement clean, initially Luz quoted $125 or $150 to use their cleaning materials. When she showed up on the day she then raised the price to $240, then once they finished the clean we left the increased price at the house. Then she called and said that the price increased again to $325 !! It's a one bedroom one bathroom basement , complete rip off. Half way through the clean the cleaners took a break and were eating in the kitchen !!! This company is the worst cleaning company I have ever dealt with !! I refused to pay the increased cost !! We chose Sparkling Maids this year after checking with some references that Luz provided to us. They obviously have a number of long term, very happy customers, and the references set our hopes high. We have been very happy with the quality of service. They arrive on schedule, clean efficiently, and take care of a number of details for us. Luz is always available by phone. The worst cleaning service in Holland, MI ever!!!! They charge $25 per hour per person and they send 2 people so you are looking at $50 per hour and after 2 hours of work in my small 2,500 sq ft house, they had done only the kitchen floor and the guest bathroom!!!! At first, we were happy with Sparkling Maids and Katherine, who cleaned our home. It always took a long time to have our home cleaned, but we were overall happy with the outcome. Throughout the year, things started to decline. This company charges by the hour. I have a two story, three bedroom house with no carpeting and it took them at least five hours to clean it. It would take six hours if they were going to clean my baseboards. With all of this time, I still had cobwebs hanging from my ceilings and couches that were never vacuumed. I also never knew how much money to leave them for the day because of the inconsistency with length of cleaning or if they were going to do my baseboards. Near the end of their employment with me, they changed cleaning crews on me without warning and cancelled after they were already supposed to start for the day. Along with inconsistent services, Sparkling Maids would often loose their check or leave forgotten items at my house. I gave them three stars because things started smoothly and overall looked clean when they finished. read more
