Worst customer service ever. This company is a joke. I had to call several times to try and get a reminder call when they come and they said I would and I never did. They got a new delivery guy and he keeps leaving the water at the bottom of our driveway, the struggle was real after my c-section. Then I tried to call and cancel and had to wait for hours as the switched me around. I've waited less time at the DMV. We also waited weeks before the water was delivered. What a horrible experience. We switched to Palomar, their customer service is amazing! No hold time and the guy literally delivered my water within 30 mins. They also just got voted number one healthiest water in the entire country! we've only had them for about 45 mins and I absolutely love them!! read more

Horrible customer service and incompetent "customer service reps" that keep you on hold forever and don't bother to come to the line and check up on you. I recently moved to a house and advised Sparkletts of my new address. They assured me that my delivery dates and time would stay the same. Fast forward to the delivery date, I never received a courtesy call the night prior which is usually what they do. After waiting from 9am-1pm and being on transferred from person to person I was fed up and realized what a shitty company I had signed up with. Please avoid these snakes at all costs. There are better companies out there like arrowhead, palomar mountain spring water etc. Sparkletts you have lost a loyal customer and good luck staying afloat with all the better companies that surpass you in every way possible! read more

WARNING! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. I agree with all of the additional negative reviews about this company. I have had nothing but problems. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. Their website is TERRIBLE. And their prices are ridiculous. Our water deliveries rarely arrived on time. When we requested additional bottles of water, they delivered them 2 days late. The auto-pay feature on the website never worked. I tried to cancel service last weekend and spent 30 minutes ON HOLD before hanging up. Today I called again to cancel....and as I am writing this review, I've been on hold for 50 MINUTES AND COUNTING. And you don't have the option to cancel service thru the website. So I have no choice but to remain on hold. Their recording while on hold says, "At DS Services we're committed to providing quality service....". LIES!!! The only positive thing about this company. The delivery drivers are very nice. Trust me & take your business somewhere else. UPDATE: After waiting on hold for 1 HOUR....the recording said, "we are experiencing technical difficulty. Costco, really? I thought since I signed up for service through Costco it would be great like most things from there. NOPE, they changed my order after I left, they delivered a cooler I didn't ask for, returned it on the next delivery and they charged me for a month rent. I called and they told me since the driver didn't' make any notes I had to pay for the rental. They also started delivering single serve bottles that I didn't' order, they said that's what was ordered and I had to pay for that was as well. Normally I'd fight these things to the death, but after dealing with the rude girl for 30 minutes I finally told her that she won. Congrats! Please bill me for the products I didnt' order and then cancel my account right now. NEVER AGAIN. Pros: ummm, none. even the convenience of delivery sucked, still had to pick up the bottles and put them in the garage. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME NO MATTER HOW GOOD A DEAL SEEMS. How do these shady thugs stay in business? Placed an order, paid deposit, had everything ready. 4, yes, FOUR reschedules for our first delivery. It's now been over a month since the first delivery was supposed to happen. Things come up, but four reschedules? Delivery water takes what, 15 minutes? Not like we're asking them to paint a house or something. Not only that, but I never got any sort of communication that things would be rescheduled, it was only found out by me calling, waiting on hold for 15+ minutes and told it would happen next week. There seems to be a major disconnect between customer service and the delivery drivers at this company. They either bring me more water than I order to the point where I need to skip the next several deliveries, their 1-800 number doesn't pick up, or their website doesn't relay the order you HAVE placed to the drivers even when you give it 24 hours notice which should be plenty of time to make an adjustment. Really ready to switch services at this point. Edited: There IS a serious problem with their phone center which apparently is in the process of relocating. If you want to make changes to your service, you should contact your route driver directly. I think you'll experience better results. read more

I have been a customer of Sparkletts for over 10 years. I left for a short period of time and recently re-activated my account. Since then the only 'LIVE' person I can get a hold of is my driver. After, my last experience, I contacted Costco and they contacted Sparkletts on my behalf. I received a call from their corporate office and they apologized for the poor service and the missed delivery. They comped me 2 free bottles of water and delivered it when they were supposed to. I changed my rating from a 1 to a 4. Now, let's see how consistent they are with their next delivery!!! PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. .... I wish I remembered to look at YELP before I used them. No need for me to rehash my story as it is the same as everyone else. Sparkletts Water Company is one of the WORST companies I have ever dealt with. I had Pure Flo water through my work and for years and they were AMAZING. Then they were bought out by Sparkletts. Then, they stopped delivering to me and kept charging me fees, which I had no idea. I had to call them to get them to deliver after months. I didn't receive any paper bills like I had received through Pure Flo and wasn't notified that it switched to eStatements. Then I got a letter that they were sending me to collections. When I called to clear it up, they bounced me back and forth for weeks from their company to their collections company and back again. I was so upset after all this and that they couldn't find my account anywhere, finally one person decided to actually listen to me and dig deeper. Finally I elevated this to a Manager (after the first one yelled at me and gave me VERY poor customer service) and cleared it up, got me in contact with the right person to pay off whatever my charges were for the water I actually did receive (and also since they declined my request for not charging me for the delivery fees for the water I never got, I still had to pay that also). So on 2/18/19 I paid everything in full. Well today I just got a collections notice for $103.90 and called them right away....thank goodness I save EVERYTHING because I gave the woman dates and everything and after some research, she said everything I said matched with what she was finding so she said I am paid in full and this won't hurt my credit....you're darn right it won't, because I did everything I should have and Sparkletts did not. They have the WORST customer service EVER!! I will NEVER buy their water again or support them in any way. Moral of the story - don't ever use Sparkletts water!!! read more

I went 6 weeks without water finally got water 2x and now I have gone 8 weeks without water! Beware when signing up with Sparkletts at Costco they'll tell you no setup fee and only $20 for 2 bottles but then you get a bill for $33 and you would think it's for the 1 st month but it's not!! They'll confuse you and tell you it's the billing cycle. So I decide to cancel because I really don't need it. Second attempt to fix the water cooler we are renting same issue, got transferred to a service specialist and was put on hold for another 15min. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! NEGATIVE STARS! We signed up at Costco and began receiving deliveries. After a couple months, they didn't deliver our water for a couple weeks in a row, so we decided to cancel. They told me they couldn't cancel my service because we hadn't paid for the last couple deliveries (that we didn't receive). I told them I was disputing the charges and wasn't going to pay for non-delivery. While I was trying to dispute the charges, they kept charging me. When I called to complain, they said they couldn't cancel my service until my bill was made current and because I still had the cooler. I told them to pick it up, and they said they couldn't pick it up until I came current on my bill. I called back a couple weeks later and someone else told me that they COULD indeed come get the cooler and they didn't know why someone would tell me that. They picked up the cooler and I thought they had reversed all charges from the date of non-delivery, so I stopped worrying about it. Fast forward to today when I find out they put almost $500 into collections, which is now on my credit report. I just called to find out what I'd been charged for. Apparently they never stopped charging me the monthly fee (totaling $226, by the time it went to collections), they charged me for the cooler they picked up from my house ($200) and added interest charges ($12), as well as a collection fee ($42). Needless to say, I'm livid and will be raising hell until this is taken care of. This is beyond bad service, it's downright fraudulent. read more

I am now being threatened by DS Services (Sparkletts) that their collections company will come after me for saying that I refuse to pay for water that was delivered to me in error. So apparently it's common business practice to charge your customers the "energy surcharge fee" which is really a "delivery fee" even when you do not deliver or pick up empty bottles. Absolute worst customer service you will ever deal with. We had an awesome delivery guy for years and he was recently replaced by another guy who thinks it's OK to lecture me about forgetting to put my bottles out and how this effects him when I give him more bottles than he is expecting... simply not my problem. Called today to cancel my account. Paying 7 bucks a bottle plus all the other fees and charges just isn't worth it when I can fill one up myself for $1.25. After the rep (Asia) transferred me to the retention department I was hung up on after 20 minutes of waiting in queue. I called back and once again had to wait another 30 minutes. All together I spent an hour cancelling my account. I've had to also deal with their customer service on other separate unrelated occasions, every time either by email or phone the service is horrible. I don't understand how they can get away with it... no wonder they have one and a half stars on Yelp. read more

I am updating a previous review because I recently discovered that I was being overcharged for service. In addition, the e-invoices stopped sending me invoices since May so I was no longer seeing new bills. Sparkletts then called to tell me I was passed due but had no idea because their billing system wasn't working. Once I discovered this, I emailed them paperwork and discovered over charges, which was causing my account to be delinquent. Fire such a large company that is affiliated with Costco, they certainly have a very shady operation and poor accounting system. I shocked that Costco wants to be affiliated with them. read more

BUYER BEWARE, especially if you are a small business or home user who only needs a limited amount of water on a monthly basis. We signed up for the water service at COSTCO, and were told that the cost would be $14.99 a month for two 5-gallon bottles of water, with the cooler/hot water dispenser included at no charge. We REPEATEDLY ASKED IF THERE WERE ADDITIONAL CHARGES and were told that there was an initial bottle deposit but NO additional charges. When the delivery first came to the office, we AGAIN ASKED ABOUT COST and were told that if we only needed one bottle per month, the cost would be $9.99 per month (NO MENTION OF EXTRA COST). It turns out, that the company CHARGES approximately $7.00 PER MONTH FUEL SURCHARGE for the delivery! No big deal if you have lots of water delivered, but when you need one bottle per month, and only want it to avoid using plastic bottles and impacting the environment, IT IS A TERRIBLE DEAL! More importantly, both the representatives at Costco and the delivery man should have been honest and said it wasn't the best option for us if we don't need a lot of water. Both representatives asked how much water we thought we would need, and we told them one to two bottles at the most. In our own business, (panels for backlighting stone), we frequently talk customers out of buying too much product or overspending. We are more concerned with doing right by the customer and delivering the best product with the best customer service than we are with trying to make a quick sale. Obviously, based on their incredibly low YELP rating, Sparkletts is not concerned with doing the right thing and just wants to make a sale. The fuel surcharge can be found in the contract. Regardless, all employees are aware of the additional fuel surcharge and were DISHONEST in not discussing it when repeatedly asked if the total/complete cost was the $14.99 or $9.99 per month we discussed. This is not a company philosophy that we can support. We are returning the cooler and will look at other options. I would not recommend this company for anyone and I would recommend that the company be more honest and more transparent in order to improve their YELP rating and the public's perception of their service and product. read more

Horrible customer service. Our family uses two 5 gallon bottles a month. We always put the 2 bottles out for pickup and receive 2 full bottles. However, Sparkletts tries to get away with only giving us a credit for one returned bottle even though they clearly indicate on each bill that 2 were returned. I have had to call month after month and each time they credit us back the deposit fee but the next month they do the same exact thing so I never really get the credit back. How stupid do they think we are? Have tried to get a manager to call me with no success. They won't even give you the manager's last name, just the first. Those that answer the phone cannot put you thru to these managers and cannot guarantee they will call you back. Sparkletts only gets away with this because they have a monopoly--no competition means they don't care about their customers. I was orginally with pureflow water then sparklets took over. I called on the 3rd and asked for 6 bottles of water and asked for help logging on to my account which I have never been on before. The representative sent me 5 or 6 emails to reset my password. I never was able to log on. Then she told me I would get a phone call from online support. I asked what my bill was going to be and she gave me a number of 60.00 dollars. Then the 5th came and low and behold I only got 4 bottles and no one ever called me about my log in. I called on the 5th and asked the representative where is my other 2 bottles? She said she had no idea that only 4 were put it. She told me they would send me 2 more on the 9th. The 9th came and went and no water. She also told me my bill was 30 something. Called back on the 12th and asked to speak to a supervisor and after asking the representative like 6 times she finally put me on hold and then my call was mysteriously dropped. So I called again and told the whole long story again. That representative tried again to send me a password reset and I still couldn't log in. She put me through to a supervisor who acted as if I was a thorn in her paw and could care less. She said she didn't know why I was given different amounts, why they didn't send my water and that if I wanted to get any answers I had to wait for the operations supervisor to call. Of course they never called and that supervisor couldn't fix any of my issues instead telling me she would call me back and didn't. It is sad when a call center has such little training that they tell you different things each time you call. read more

After many different emails and phone calls of such confusion on our delivery schedule, we got delivery. I requested Six 3 gallon water bottles and only received Four. Then with another situation of confusion I had to argue with customer service on the next delivery. We finally received our correct delivery of Six 3 gallon bottles. THEN 4 days later, they delivered Three 5 gallon bottles at our door. We have always received 3 gallon bottles. When I called I got the run around and customer service doesn't know ANYTHING. Apparently they had cancelled my online account, created me a new one, and took it upon themselves to decided to order Three 5 gallon bottles on a schedule of every two weeks. I had just received SIX 3 gallon bottles 4 days previously. I could not get a Supervisor to speak to me. FINALLY I got someone to say they would pickup the 5 gallon bottles and refund me, but I had to keep them in my small apartment (along with my other 6 bottles) for TWO WEEKS because they would not come out before that. They made a second delivery within 4 days, but would not be in the area again for 2 weeks? They also advised they would NOT remove the $30.00 charges from my account until they picked them up. I was furious. Still the supervisor would not return my call. And in the meantime the water tastes REALLY REALLY BAD. Nothing like Pureflo water!! After another run around on the phone, I decided to cancel my account all together as this service was horrible. Trying to charge me for stuff I didn't order and refusing to correct their error ASAP. Of course then the person who came to my home to pickup the erroneously delivered water and the rental cooler and all the empty bottles was EXTREMELY RUDE to my senior citizen mother. So disrespectful, I am so glad I terminated my account. NOW 20 days later they send me ANOTHER invoice... STILL Charging me for the items delivered in error. AND have not credited my account for my deposit on my water cooler. THE ABSOLUTE WORST service and water !! I wish there were negative STARS we could give. read more

My rating is actually a Zero. We did not choose Sparkletts as our water service. Sadly we were tossed over to them from PureFlo. We had 2 bottles delivered on 7/3/18. On 7/16, 2 more bottles were delivered. Big problem: we were on vacation. Knowing we were on vacation our neighbors alerted us the bottles were on the front porch, quite visible to all who go past our house. I called Sparkletts to report this. Was told the bottles were delivered in error. I explained we were on vacation and the bottles needed to be picked up right away...2 bottles sitting on the front porch for more than 1 day is like throwing out the welcome mat for a break in. Five days and 5 phone calls later the bottles were finally picked up from our front door. Sparkletts Customer Service was beyond terrible. I was lied to twice about the bottles being picked up. Waiting to talk to customer service is a joke. 20 minutes to 2 hours wait to talk to someone on the phone is unacceptable. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this company. Sparklett's may have bought out another company to look bigger, but in the process has lost many customers from terrible customer service & terrible water. Unfortunately, both are still terrible, nothing has changed. Do not be mistaken & think that because Sparklett's purchased another company that a customer does not have a choice. Trust me, we have choices. The call center makes it sound like they will fix whatever issue arises. Reality is that there have been many complaints about Saprkletts in general & the Oceanside office in particular. Multiple service complaints regarding delivery, refunds, and non communication are just some that are listed. This should be a hint, if there are still 1 star complaints then they obviously don't care about the customers and have made no attempt to rectify any of the situations. We had 2 accounts from Pure-flo, (we miss Pure-flo), which was recently bought out by Sparkletts. When this transition took place, they did not communicate how their billing & service would take place. I had to call and ask how they would bill, when the delivery schedule would be, and if the account # would change. Instead we received last minute changes and were made to feel like it was a customer issue and not theirs. The water is grimy tasting, leaving a film in the cups and tasting like it has grease in the water. (Nasty) I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt, a chance to make things right. I asked for a different kind of water to be delivered, and since then, instead of getting better it has gotten worse. Instead I have made multiple calls, trying very hard to remain professional and calm. I should not have to continually call to request service that is already paid for. As a customer I should receive a call, some communication if something will or is going to change. Whether it be about my service, my bill, or delivery of the product. I have kept my side of a common customer service etiquette. Communication. I deserve that back. I have paid timely, I have done what has been asked of me as a customer, and have been treated very poorly. In under a month Sparklett's has managed to lose respect of many people, not just as a customer. You can not be trusted! The gist of what is going on.... My first scheduled delivery (7/10)was put off for another week (7/17) this was my first call to verify what's going on. They came, dropped off the water. Empties and check was not picked up. Verified with call center to leave a note for next time with my number on it and directions to pick up unopened bottles, since the water tasted so bad they could swap them out for spring water. Next scheduled delivery was 7/31/18, they picked up all the case/bottles, didn't leave me any water, left both checks, didn't call me. I called again to let them know and call center put me on hold to ask Oceanside office if they can deliver on Friday, she confirmed they could. Friday came, but no one came. Still no water, no call, no service. Called again, call center once again called the Oceanside office, asked for then to delivery Saturday. Saturday they delivered 2 (one broken bin) of the 6 cases of water, wrong water delivered (same as the greasy water as before), picked up both checks and left. I am home by the way, no one rang door bell or called to ask. Called again, call center said someone changed my account with only 2 waters being delivered and would have someone from the Oceanside office call me to bring them back out. No call, no show, and no follow up. Sunday they are closed Monday morning, I called and the customer service person who kept interrupting me, saying to me he understood and how I should be aware of the policies of Sparklett's, and proceeded to tell me how I could handle this differently. He asked how they could retain my business? This situation should have never escalated to this point in the first place. He should have offered a manager to take the call. (As for the manager at the Oceanside store, he should be reprimanded and retrained in customer service skills to say the least.) I had to take my call outside! DO NOT treat me as if I am the problem! If Sparkletts cared at all, they should have owned up and taken responsibility as a company to care for their clients and how their staff is representing their company & treating potential customers. They try to make cancelling their garbage service as tedious and complicated as possible so they can gaff consumers for a few extra bucks on the way out the door. This company exemplifies everything that's wrong with service businesses in this world today. My driver is great, but when he doesn't show up on his scheduled day, you have no idea when he will be back. Lots of frustration with the corporate customer service over the phone. They can't get anything straight on delivery dates. The water is good to average quality. But dealing with the company over the phone is terrible. read more

This company is spectacularly awful. Really, in every way, just awful. they acquired the water company that I used for years, replaced spring water in non-BPA-lined containers with their "filtered water", sent them in BPA-lined bottles. When I called to cancel, I had to jump through serious hoops, spending nearly an hour on the phone. Then, about a week later they delivered another shipment of the water that I had cancelled. When I called them back, they initially refused to pick them up because "once they're delivered, they are yours." After much convincing, they agreed to pick up the bottles, then sent me a bill for $9.51 ($5.51 to pick up bottles, $4.00 for paper invoice fee) then lo and behold, today delivered another 4 bottles. When I called them yet again, it took another 40 minutes for them to admit that I had, indeed cancelled the service, it wasn't processed appropriately, and they would come and get their water. They actually said that they usually don't pick up water once it's delivered, but would do it this time since it wasn't really my fault. You're kidding, right? What is a shame is that all of the customer service reps I spoke with were really nice - I feel sorry that they have to work at such a bad company. Just another company that starts sneaking in the price increases without saying anything! I tried calling customer service right now and I gave them a chance to fix the problem. It starts off with the Costco membership and everything that they offer the Costco customers! Then they start with the price increases with the water bottles from $5.99 to $6.49. Ok that's fine. And a $1 for the water dispenser. But then you tell Costco customers that there is NO other charges! But what you forget to mention is that those other charges are coming! Now we have an energy surcharge of about $5.83 each time they deliver. So the part that pisses me off is that they raised my price on the water dispenser because I requested a new little tiny lever that snapped off! But they never mentioned the price increase. I call today to ask why the price increase. They let me know that it's because the delivery guy swapped out my entire dispenser with a refurbished one. Yep, something I never asked for. And guess what, it doesn't work as good as my last one. It's used, all scratched up and sounds like it's going to break down. So I called them up and asked them to bring my old dispenser back. I will deal with the broken lever! I told them that I didn't appreciate them raising the price with their broken equipment! I was told that they will not honor my dispenser charge of $1 a month anymore because they swapped it out. Screw this company! I never asked you to swap out the dispenser. I absolutely recommend that you DO NOT sign up for SParkletts delivery. They have consistently shorted me on my delivery, yet charge me for items which I never received. Trying to deal with Sparkletts billing was a waste of a half hour. I highly recommend going with another water delivery service. read more

I just recently signed up for service BEFORE coming to yelp which already was my first mistake. I received my first order and cooler on time but the driver was rude and really rushed. Then comes my second delivery which was scheduled for September 9th. we were down to a gallon of water and excited to replenish our supply, especially since San Diego/Oceanside is experiencing its worst heat wave of the year. Well that delivery NEVER came. I called after coming home from work only to find out that their customer service office is open only on east coast time. Bummer. So i called again early on the 10th and after 30 mins and multiple transfers i'm told that the reason the driver didn't come and deliver anything was because we had to much product and he didn't think we needed it. When does it become the drivers decision to decide whether or not i have enough product???!! He didn't even bother to call and confirm with me or anything. Ok so after waiting the 30 mins to speak to a customer service specialist they tell me that I going to have a delivery on the 11th. Ok i'll wait until the 11th i told them. I get home on the 10th to 3 new gallons of water on my doorstep. I was told it wouldn't be here until the 11th so i didn't leave the empties out. So now i have 3 new gallons of water and 4 empties. My account online says that i know owe 70 bucks. RIDICULES!!! The lack of communication is horrible. I don't even have the direct number to my driver and I cant call customer service because i'm at work and by the time i'm off its already way past their business hours. I don't have 30 mins plus to waste waiting on the phone here at work. I really want to like this company because i like the water but they are horrible. Buyer beware. Drivers are rude. Customer service is almost nonresistance and the disorganization is insane. cancelling service as soon as I can get a REAL person to speak to. read more

The moment that Sparkletts bought PureFlo, everything went downhill. Not only didn't they tell me that their water HAS FLUORIDE IN IT, they changed my delivery days without telling me, took days to replace a broken water valve that caused leaking all over my kitchen floor twice, and they could never seem to get the number of bottles that I wanted correct. They consistently shorted me a bottle. And I consistently had to call and tell them that they shorted me a bottle. They would tell me it would be delivered the next day and it never was - not even days after that- so I had to call them back. Again. I was calling them every two weeks with these issues- sitting on the phone for their absurdly long hold times, and then talking to people in call centers who could care less and who repeatedly couldn't pronounce "Encinitas." Most recently I waited on hold for 30 minutes for a manager and when one was still not available the person told me that she would have him call me by the end of the day. I said, "Yes, please, have a manger call me. If no one calls me I will be cancelling my service. Put it in the notes." NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. After I spoke to Mike at Palomar Mountain Water- where they have fresh mountain water that does not have fluoride in it, I called Sparkletts and cancelled. (They asked WHY. Guess no one put all my calls in the notes.) GOOD RIDDANCE. Do yourself a favor and call Mike at Palomar Mountain Spring water. Sparkletts is selling you fluoridated city water and their customer service is the pits. When you call Mike at Palomar Mountain, tell him Sage sent you. read more
