This Jumbo is probably the best supermarket in Breda. It's big, it's well stocked, and it's open…read morelate. Yes, it's a bit out if the way, but there is plenty of parking outside, even during the busy times of day. The store itself is large, with a good sized vegetable section, a broadly stocked bakery, a huge cheese counter, and a variety of fresh world food concessions; Italian, Chinese, Japanese and salads. Nestled on the back wall is a liquor area with a good selection of Rums, Vodkas and Whiskies. There's only one issue I have with the store is that the store isn't terrifically laid out, it can be quite hard to navigate and find things. A better store map on site would be appreciated, but in the meantime grab the Jumbo app to have access to a searchable map (dutch only).

As supermarkets go, this isn't the biggest that I have ever been to but its quite a nice size and there was a pretty good selection of different stuff. Of course there was lots of cheese, so I bought some Gouda, Edam and a couple others. The beer worked out well - got lots of Dutch beers and also some German ones. They had a great selection of Belgian beers too but hey, I live in Belgium. I noticed lots of fresh produce and even more Asian food, already cooked/warmed and obviously ready to eat. (The stuff I got was to heat when I got home.) I have never heard of Jumbo before but I know it now and will shop here again next time north of the border. Oh, the place is right next to NAC Breda stadium, so do some shopping and catch a game!!

Located in the city centre, this location is a one stop shop for all your grocery needs. NO CREDIT…read moreCARDS- cash and debit only. Also, bring your own bag or you have to buy one. I love how you can buy beer by the bottle and the only expensive ones are American (but who would drink that anyways when you have some of the best beer in the world at your fingertips!) Wine and liquor are sold here as well. Lots of ready made meals available, a variety of cheeses and meats, and bakery items. We bought 2 beers, sliced meat, sliced cheese, chips, baguette slices, yogurt, cream puffs, and a fresh fruit plate for 15 euros! Definitely recommend popping in if you have grocery needs while in Eindhoven.

It can be compared to an American grocery store with regards to lay out and space, and they offer a lot of choices as well. They even have a fresh flower section as well as a coffee section. Even their sushi section has some fresh sushi that is not as expensive as you would get in a restaurant. When compared to other grocery stores in the area, Albert Heijns is definitely more expensive. But they do offer quality for the price. If you're looking for slightly cheaper groceries, you can look up close-by Asian supermarkets or Turkish supermarkets which also offer great quality vegetables and more ethnic food choices. I would recommend going AH earlier on in the day as opposed to later in the evening because they usually run out of sliced bread. But that is the case with most grocery stores in the Netherlands, because the bread is usually baked fresh every day and they only make enough so that they don't have to sell leftovers for the next day. The Dutch are truly serious about their bread! Also love their grocery scanner option. A great way to save time!

They have some pre-packaged foods near the gates as well, and I found them to be a great choice since I was traveling and did not have access to a kitchen.
