SPAR at Roadchef Chester Motorway Services is right by the entrance of the service station, making it easy to get in and out, whether you want to buy essentials or call in while stopping off on a longer journey. The store was clean, modern and well laid out, although I do find the product range was a little lacking, beyond the basic essentials range, they did have a couple of Costa Express coffee machines, which is useful if you want to grab a coffee in a hurry, and don't have time to go into the Costa store which is right next to this one. (If those machines aren't working, there are others around Chester Services.) They are only open from 7 am to 8 pm, considering the service station and some outlets (WHSmith and McDonald's) inside are 24-7, it makes me wonder why this one isn't, especially given the prime location to motorists and truckers who will always be passing through.
