Food wise you can also get sandwiches and other breakfast goods. A bacon bap is only £1.20. The staff are great, you always get a wee bit of early morning banter out of them to kick start your day. An awesome wee shop with absolutely no faults - centrally located and serving food from £1 - what's not to like?

That is not to say that the selection and service in here is in anyway not top drawer. Well, top drawer is maybe a bit of a stretch. The store is always clean and tidy, the staff are always friendly and helpful and you can usually find everything you need in here if you are popping in for a pint or milk or a loaf of bread. There is good parking here and an ATM which is always handy. It is also in a good location, with excellent access to the Belfast and Newtownards roads. There is certainly no real reason not to call in here. You won't be able to do a full weeks shop in here, you will need to go to Tesco or whatever for that but you certainly will be able to get plenty of what you need in this wee shop.

They didn't have my favorite Volcanic Unflavored Water here, but they had many other items to try.

It sells all the usual stuff but the prices are slightly hiked up because of its location and I guess just because it can with all the passing trade and the business men and women nipping out for coffee, chocolate, papers and snacks. I don't care that it is a tiny bit more expensive, its convenient on the walk to town, friendly and it has a good feeling about it.

Plus there's a decent selection of fresh fruit/veg, lentils/beans, herbs/spices and gourmet worldwide foods. The in-store Post Office is handy as well and there's a coffee counter, newspapers, plants, and lots more - a place where it's possible to do a full weekly shop and get absolutely everything you need. The shop itself is busy enough, considering it's right beside Tesco (see my Tesco Dunmurry review). Some people probably can't be bothered parking around the back of Tesco if they've only to get one or two items, and probably just take a run in here. It's also on the left hand side if you're travelling from Belfast to Lisburn, so I think it gets quite busy after 5p.m. with commuters on their way home. Apart from petrol, the main attraction of these garages is that they almost all have ATMs, which is very convenient. This feature alone ensures that these garages all do well.

The staff are lovely and very helpful, especially when one discussed with me at length why I was buying tinned hotdogs... in fairness I haven't bought them since but they were on offer. The shop is late opening which is good if you run out of electric and don't really fancy fumbling your way up the stairs. Great shop, some great offers and great staff!
