I first found susana on-line by searching for Spanish teachers in Miami on google. Spanish Hangout came up as one of the results. After researching their website and speaking to my friends about Spanish Hangout, I was surprised to find out that many of my friends already knew about this school and it's teacher/owner susana. She used to be located in the WeWork on Lincoln Road where many friends of mine also had offices. This made me comfortable and happy to hear that she was a nice, professional and real person. I use Spanish at my work and need to speak it because we have many clients from South America. I felt behind because in my office I am the only non-native speaker of Spanish and have to compete with co-workers that speak Spanish as their first language. I have beed studying twice a week with susana for the past three months and have went from casual conversational Spanish to giving professional business presentations directly to clients all in Spanish. The clients really appreciate that I am learning the language and they can understand me because susana focuses on correct proper grammar with clear pronunciation. She did not teach me to merely speak in Spanish, she taught me to speak spanish with clear pronunciation and proper grammar. Class with Susana is alway good, even when the subject matter gets hard. She is patient, kind, has a good personality and most of all is a good teacher. It takes a special kind of person to be patient, clear, kind and focused on your progress as a teacher and susana is all of these things. If you are looking for a Spanish teacher stop your search immediately and call susana. You have found the Spanish teacher of your dreams. I highly recommend her and will keep taking class with her. Susana me ayuda mucho con Español. Necesito hablar español en me trabajo con clientes y con susana, yo lo aprendi rápido. Tengo clase con Susana dos veces de semana. Ella es profesional, amable y una buena profesora con mucha estructura. Me encanta estudiar conella. Si quiere una profesora que es directa, profesional y amable, usted quiere susana. If I could provide more stars for Susana - I would! I have started and ended many Spanish classes over the last 15 years - and none have compared to the personalized and carefully thought-out lessons that Susana provides. There is so much attention to detail, grammar, and sentence structure that your only path is bound to be successful. I began working with Susana over the summer, with the bare minimum knowledge of the language - fast forward to now, and the results yielded from her classes are absolutely astonishing. I am able to speak correctly, hold entire conversations and even tell jokes in a language I thought I would never master. I cannot thank Susana enough for all of her effort and time spent helping me take on the Spanish Language! Thank you so much! :) read more

Susana is a fantastic teacher. Can't be more patient and understanding. I was a total newbie. Met her 2 years ago on line. We've been meeting regularly since then. I can even speak with my spanish in-laws now. Not just wait for my name to be called! She doesn't overload you. Just enough to help you digest. Everything is custom. The on-line format is fantastic. No commuting needed. I can still take lessons when I am out of town or otherwise busy. Also, love her accent. She's from Spain. I have tried many apps including Berlitz, Rosetta Stone, Duolingo, and none of them could help me. Not until I met Susana. Can't be happier. read more

Taking Spanish lessons with Susana has been both fun and challenging since the very first class! I love meeting her at the WeWork space, which is fun and lively in of itself, and we were able to set the meeting time that works best for our small group. She makes learning easy by focusing on conversational skills and using them throughout the course; each class we start by sharing some news or recapping recent events in our lives, and its something I've come to really look forward to. I have taken many language classes and this one is one of the best. The material is aimed at getting the student to begin communication immediately while incorporating necessary grammar when essential and the vocabulary is geared towards everyday needs for travel and business. Susana N is our instructor and she addresses all the subject matter in a fun way and is encouraging to each and every student. She makes herself available for questions and suggestions inside the classroom setting and outside as well. Because the classes are being live streamed due to the corona virus we have students from all over the country which is awesome. The group is small (6 students) and the price inexpensive. I would highly recommend Susanna and Spanish Hangout. read more

My husband and I relocated to Miami from NYC, so we wanted a tutor to help us learn Spanish. I reached out to Susana describing what we were looking for, and she replied very quickly. My husband meets with Susana in person, while I have my sessions separately via Skype. Both of us are extremely happy with Susana and how much she has helped us improve our Spanish! Susanna is a very dedicated teacher. She uses a blog to teach lessons on grammar and listening skills. During the class conversation is encouraged in Spanish with minimal use of English. At times it has been difficult to access the Blog but Susanna sends emails to assist us and she also responds to questions and corrects homework on email. Included in the class are fun social events like pot luck dinners! read more

Definitely recommend Spanish Hangout! I have taken both group and private lessons with Susana. She creates a fun learning environment, encourages conversation, and is flexible in how and what we learn (if a question comes up, for example, we explore it). She tailors her teaching style and content to your specific needs (in private classes) - for me it's professional, more formal Spanish. I look forward to the classes and already feel much more confident in my speaking ability. You get a great sense of community, too, so if you are new to Miami this is a nice plus! An excellent class with a very enthusiastic and fun instructor! In the past I had used computer based learning tools such as DuoLingo and Rosetta Stone. With these, however, I was only learning vocabulary. I was not learning to read or speak Spanish. After two eight week Spanish Hangout sessions (36 hours of training - plus some dedication to homework:-), I am now reading and speaking basic Spanish! Very exciting! Great class! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I am a professional medical interpreter (French/English) with a number of years of Spanish under my belt hoping to qualify to interpret professionally in Spanish as well. People with my background present special and tricky issues to instructors - we know too much to teach as if we were beginners but we often have gaping holes in aspects of language understanding and production due to years of working around never fully grasped grammar and vocabulary - gaps which we ourselves are not always aware of or able to communicate. Susana has been of great, patient, flexible and consistent help in assisting me to pinpoint and address the more troublesome gaps in my speech (and writing). She is not only very professional and very pleasant to work with but highly intuitive and analytical in tailoring her approach in a way that very comfortably and helpfully addresses my needs both to remedy grammar through formal exercises as well as to improve fluency through corrected conversation. Susanna has a highly skilled ability to allow conversational aspects of classes to flow easily while bringing mistakes to my attention to allow not only self-correction in the moment but longer-term processing and correction of long-standing errors. My Spanish interpreting colleagues at work have noted an improvement in my fluency, and I myself find that my comfort level in both listening and expression has increased significantly in a short time. Finally, again as other students posting have noted, Susana is extremely pleasant to work with, flexible, and extremely professional - the classes are a highlight of my week! read more
