I first found susana on-line by searching for Spanish teachers in Miami on google. Spanish Hangout came up as one of the results. After researching their website and speaking to my friends about Spanish Hangout, I was surprised to find out that many of my friends already knew about this school and it's teacher/owner susana. She used to be located in the WeWork on Lincoln Road where many friends of mine also had offices. This made me comfortable and happy to hear that she was a nice, professional and real person. I use Spanish at my work and need to speak it because we have many clients from South America. I felt behind because in my office I am the only non-native speaker of Spanish and have to compete with co-workers that speak Spanish as their first language. I have started and ended many Spanish classes over the last 15 years - and none have compared to the personalized and carefully thought-out lessons that Susana provides. There is so much attention to detail, grammar, and sentence structure that your only path is bound to be successful. The material is aimed at getting the student to begin communication immediately while incorporating necessary grammar when essential and the vocabulary is geared towards everyday needs for travel and business. Susana N is our instructor and she addresses all the subject matter in a fun way and is encouraging to each and every student. She makes herself available for questions and suggestions inside the classroom setting and outside as well. Susanna is a very dedicated teacher. She uses a blog to teach lessons on grammar and listening skills. During the class conversation is encouraged in Spanish with minimal use of English. At times it has been difficult to access the Blog but Susanna sends emails to assist us and she also responds to questions and corrects homework on email. With these, however, I was only learning vocabulary. I was not learning to read or speak Spanish. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I am a professional medical interpreter (French/English) with a number of years of Spanish under my belt hoping to qualify to interpret professionally in Spanish as well. People with my background present special and tricky issues to instructors - we know too much to teach as if we were beginners but we often have gaping holes in aspects of language understanding and production due to years of working around never fully grasped grammar and vocabulary - gaps which we ourselves are not always aware of or able to communicate.
