I was certainly in a daze and they were kind and took care of everything. Things I did not want to think about. The viewing was homey and comfortable for all of us. It felt like your own living room. Everything for the funeral was tasteful and perfect. Funeral are never a pleasant experience, but everyone has to deal with it in their lifetime. My sister's boyfriend chose this place because he worked with them before on his mother's funeral. I was introduced to Stacy who was coodinating my sister's final resting. She was knowledgable and sympathic. They also are a crematory, so the pricing reflected the absense of the middle man. Yes, prices vary greatly when it comes to these services. Just to be sure, I contacted Carmen at Gaita's who is a family friend. He agreed that the pricing was very resonable. Stacy handled all the arrangements with no issues considering the horrible Forida laws. Are you aware that if you pass away and want to be cremated in Florida, there is a 7 to 10 day waiting period. Also if you are transporting remains out of state, it must be send to a person. No, it cannot be sent to another funeral home, but it has to be to a PERSON. Again, thanks Carmen for allowing us to send it to you. They keep the temperature to a very cool level. There was plenty of water and tissues at our disposal. Since we did not hold services here, I cannot comment on that aspect.

First off, I question the ethics of a funeral home being owned and run by the sitting mayor of the…read morecity. When I was notified of my mother's body being found, someone from Whitfield had already collected her body before I was even formally notified by police of her death. According to people who work in the senior housing facility where my mother lived, this is not an uncommon occurrence. It seems that Mr. Whitfield does ineed use his position as mayor to position his business in a way that is clearly a conflict of interest. That aside, I would like to share my experience with the business as a customer. I dealt with Mr. Whitfield directly, and I can't say it was a positive experience in any way. I understand that we all deal with death differently, but I didn't feel any empathy from this man at all. It was all business with him. At one point, he even referred to "your father" even though it was my mother's body. That lack of attention to detail bothered me. Dealing with them was this agonizing game of phone tag where I ultimately had to get a lawyer involved in order to get my mother's ashes back from them in anything approaching a timely fashion. It took almost three weeks! Almost made the memorial service late. And when I went to pick up her ashes, they had made a mistake on the paperwork that I needed to sign for pickup. Also, a complete lack of sympathy or empathy from them at the time. I cannot recommend against them strongly enough. Learn from my experience, and go somewhere else. Anywhere.

Such a disappointing experience for my family. We ordered a headstone for my dad on 11/28/21! We…read morewere told during the ordering process that it would take a year to receive the headstone due to Covid. The initial process in dealing with Davis Monument was good. They helped me get the order placed. But the communication after the initial order was placed (we paid for 1/2 the cost up front) has been none on their part. We expected the headstone to be completed December 27, 2022. We have not been contacted at all by Davis Monument. I have reached out to them several times since 12/27/21. Only to receive multiple reasons/excuses why the order has not been completed. This has caused a tremendous amount of pain and grief for my family, especially my mother. Saying goodbye to her husband of 52 years and then not getting closure with a proper headstone for his grave site for well over a year! This is not a good way for a company to handle the death of a loved one. The initial reason why we went with Davis Monument is because several people recommended them. I can't say that I would recommend them to anyone. It is now the middle of March 2023 and we are being told that it will take 2 more weeks for the headstone to be completed. This is completely unacceptable. Our next step is to contact the Better Business Bureau. Is hurts to have a company handling such a sensitive and emotional item so carelessly.
