I'm wavering on two or three stars... I would really go with 2.5.
I came a few weeks ago for a Hollywood wax. This place seemed the most reasonable (waxing is expensive in this country!) it was £27 on their website, but ended up being £32 because I got a Hollywood and not a Brazilian, however on their website there was no difference in the cost. They also force you to give your credit card details online when you book which I think is a little shady. Maybe if I am going to cancel a £500 body treatment it makes since, but a wax?
Anyway, so it's weird to get to, inside the basement of a sports Center you have to tell the security guard who lets you in the gate. I walked down to the spa and it was a little awkward. The woman who checked me in also ended up as my waxer? And they make you fill out a page of details and what feels like your entire medical history. I was also the only one around. But she was very friendly and it looked like if it was lively it would have been a great space.
So the waxer, who never introduced herself, took me back. She was really lovely, good conversation given the situation. She used a variety of the two waxes which I like, but she didn't tweeze, which I always find frustrating. Also she double dipped the applicators in the wax :/ Yeah, the wax is INSANELY hot, but it's a pretty intimate area, which I don't really want to share? TMI? Sorry.
Overall the experience was OK. The service was friendly, the wax was decent, but I think I may try some other places before I come back here. read more
