"Spa Escape and Salon" - This appears to actually be more of a Salon than a "spa". Unprofessional and cruddy service. ("Service" being a live phone conversation with the business and my experience with their website and brochure.)
I called to make reservations for two 90-minute massages at 7pm - for April 3rd (almost 2 weeks in ADVANCE). Although their website and brochure says "available 7 days a week and EVENINGS," the person who answered the phone (sounded like she just woke up at 11:30am) said they don't do evening appointments and the latest they could ever get me in was at 4:30pm (which is most definitely in the afternoon).
According to Google, "evening" business hours are 6pm to 9pm.
Perhaps the person who answered was busy with another client? If so, a polite, "I'm helping someone right now but let me get your number and call you back" or "Let's see what other days and times might work" (I had 3 days to work with) would have been nice! But she just sounded like she didn't have the time, or any interest, to speak with me and she hurried to get me off of the phone.
An updated professional website where a person can actually book online with secure payments - or even an updated brochure (which I did download and read) would have prevented most of these problems.
I'm in T or C / Elephant Butte often and was hoping to find a place for regular (monthly) Massages. I book in advance, pay in cash, and tip heavily for great service. You never know what that one Customer could mean to your business. A happy Customer will tell someone. An unhappy Customer will post about it on Facebook, TripAdvisor, Yelp and Google.
Fortunately I found a Spa with a great website, a live booking platform, and great telephone service to not only provide two 90-minutes massages - but the person who answered my call encouraged me to get add-on services of facials and body treatments (almost $850 in total plus gratuities for our first visit).
Covid was tough for small businesses - I get that. But the pandemic is over. It's time for people to again provide "customer service". Just as they would like to be treated. read more
