The roof top bar has reasonably priced food, basic entertainment and beautiful views out to sea. While we we there they used the large playing field to put an absolutely massive bouncy castle in. They also have a few security guards wandering around who are courteous which is a nice peace of mind. Only very slight negatives here are that the pitches are relatively closely packed together so if you have small kids and have a noisy pitch next door or vice versa it may be a challenge. However, it's really a lovely site in a lovely location and that shouldn't put you off. Some reviews mention the proximity of the cliffs but they are at the end of a long walk and a beach so unless you aren't watching your children for ages is not a problem at all. Take your fishing rods as the beach is great for Mackerel fishing so good to spend some time fishing with the kids. People were catching loads without effort.

We were very grateful for this as it was very muddy. The staff were very welcoming and showed us where we had to pitch. Since it was a camping and caravaning club site there are strict rules. Only one car per pitch, key access etc. The toilets were very clean, but not enough showers and on a busy weekend it is worth getting up early for a shower so you don't have to queue. They had a little shop, ok prices. Very small play area for the kids. It was a nice site, the only reason it got 4 stars and not 5 is the outragous prices they charge, £52 per night for 4 adults and 2 kids! If it had been a better price I would have returned to this site.

My parents sited their caravan here by chance, we will now camp there for several weeks and many weekends through out the year. Owned by fantastically friendly people too. Build camp fires where you wish, play in the river, go horse riding or on picturesque walks through and around the Doone Valley. I'm a photographer / walker and I absolutely love it here, so does my other half and our 4yr old daughter as well as my parents.

I have tried quite a few sites since I bought my motor home, and this place went straight to the top. Outside and inside swimming pools, heated which surprised both my wife and I,lovely little pub downstairs that does good meal's pretty much all day,upstairs bar with entertainment, good gym, caravan's to rent,static and mobile, and cabin's with hotub's. Now on our third year staying at this site for a week and pre-booked for next year too. Great service from the friendly staff in reception. It has its own pub "the Swan" which serves a selection of meals including a breakfast. There's a site shop and also a chippy. Just outside the pub there's a patio area leading onto an open air swimming pool, so mum and dad can keep an eye on the kids while enjoying a drink. There's also a family room upstairs,not ideal if your offsprings in a buggy! By car its around a five minute drive into either Dawlish or Dawlish Warren or there's a bus stop just outside the site. It has several fishing lakes for the keen angler and wooded walks for the naturalist, one of which takes you to Dawlish Warren, Its a steep climb back at one point so go easy on the clotted cream at the Warren.
