I didn't give it one star only because, when compared to most other parking services, it's not that…read moremuch worse. $8 a day for surface parking (about 300 feet from the airport entrance), $12 a day for garage parking (150 feet from the entrance), and $14 a day for valet parking (in which a guy grabs your car and parks it in the garage, and tries to get it set out before you arrive on your return flight, unless you arrive earlier than you said you would. By the time you've gone through the lengthy forms for valet parking and damage inspection, you'd have barely saved time from parking in the garage. And considering how much of a price jump there is between the slightly more distant parking lot and the parking garage, you'll save quite a bit more if you'd just park in the surface lot and walk an extra 30 seconds. The difference can be much more obvious after returning from a two-week family reunion. Everything about this parking system screams "racket". You can't leave your car anywhere unless you park with the payment system, in an often mostly empty parking lot, or with the garage which is full of empty spots. You get the first 20 minutes free - a supposed nod to people who are just parking to drop off friends for their flights. However, by the time you find a spot, walk your friend to the door, get back in your car, and drive to the one operated toll booth with a 12-car line filled full of time-consuming credit card transactions and people who want to (rightly) complain about the preposterous prices, you'll find it very difficult to get out of there within 20 minutes. In one circumstance earlier in 2011, I had only cash on me and no card, so I had to go through the only manned booth (even though there are three other unmanned ones). One guy's debit card was rejected, and without cash, they would not let him leave. So I sat behind him with the engine off for 45 minutes while his significant other transferred funds to his account. I got a token apology from the management, but needless to say, I was rather late for my engagement. I've got two friends who work there, now, and they tell me what I suspected: they pay their employees minimum wage despite their rather late hours and the inability to leave if a flight is even delayed to 4AM or later, do not allow any suggestion of tips, and incentive programs are laughable attempts that waste company resources that could be diverted to employee paychecks. One told me that his "prize" for registering significantly more than his monthly quota of members for the customer rewards program was a pack of mini candybars, which he immediately threw in the trash. He is charged for parking unless he is on the clock (though he was told otherwise upon hiring), resulting in a unexpected $156 bill after returning from Christmas vacation. They are horrible to their employees, a common sign of a company ravenously greedy for your money. If you can at all help it, have someone drop you off at arrivals and skip the parking. You'll save yourself half a paycheck.
