From the beginning, he was dishonest about the job, constantly making excuses and lying about the progress. He took our money but didn't use it to buy the designated materials, leaving us wondering where our funds actually went. His workmanship was terrible--sloppy, incomplete, and far from professional. He does not supervise his subcontractors and rarely visits the work site. He is a master manipulator giving truly believable explanations for delays, missing materials, lack of supervision, and errors in construction. To make matters worse, he has left our home in a complete mess, showing no regard for finishing the job properly. After dealing with this disaster, we discovered that he has a history of these bad practices. This is very important to me and our company, as we are not local to the property we needed his assistance with. We approved his estimate to replace the roof on October 1st, which was eventually finished, in roughly 55 days. On October 8th, while waiting for the roof to be replaced, I asked if he knew of a good company that could assist with minor remediation work. Ralph said they handle a lot of repair/mitigation work and would be happy to help us with that portion as well. I was thrilled. We approved his estimate on October 16th, and this minor remediation job is STILL not complete. What should have taken 1-2 weeks at the most, I am here writing this 5 months later. I can't believe I let this go on as long as I have, and I'm embarrassed to admit it, but he kept assuring me it would be wrapped up soon. I was told THREE times he had passing air sample results from testing he had completed, and each time he claimed to have the report, he never sent it to me. It was either the testing company's fault for the delay in getting it to me, the report was on a laptop in a different city (four hours away), or he was on vacation and about to get on a flight so he couldn't email it, it was ALWAYS something. I finally reached out to a reputable remediation company that said he could complete the remediation work in a couple of days and would have results for me just a few days after that. I have lost a ton of time and money over this minor job because of Ralph Valenciano's dishonesty. Do yourself a favor and do a quick Google search before deciding to go down this road. I wish I did.

He said he could give me a bid without coming to my home, which I immediately backed out of. When I told him " No, I don't want my bids done like that!" he agreed to come to my home. He did not bring a ladder or even climb up to look at my roof. All he wanted to know was the square footage. He was very polite and personable but I expected him to get up on my house like the other 2 roofers that had given me bids. He didn't have shingle samples or color samples with him. When I got his bid a week later it was $3,200.00 higher than my medium bid! I'm 65 years old and I guess I just don't like the way his company does business. I gave them a three only because the man that came out was so pleasant. But a roofer that doesn't even bring a ladder and climb up to LOOK at your roof before shooting you a bid??? Not what I want in a roofing company.

Again, tge shingles used are warranted 20 years, and the installer (Cory) should warranty his workmanship. I hired Coastal because they were the only roofing company I knew of and I want my money to stay in Lumberton.
