They were at my Mom's house Thursday for 4 hours. They gave her a bid on her roof for 42K, took a check from her ($10,500) for 25% of the bid to "lock in the price" for 5 days. This was all after being told TWICE by my brother in law through the ring camera that we were not comfortable with her writing a check until we (the family) looked over the bid. Then, I myself spoke to Caroline (the sales rep) on the phone and told her to leave my Mom's check on the table and any info on the bid and we would look at it as a family. I heard Caroline (the rep) through ring camera tell my Mom that her daughters were trying to make decisions for her, but this was her house and her money. What the heck? I then told her not so nicely to leave the check and get the heck (different words) out of my Mom's house. My Mom also had asked her to give the check back and leave the info for the bid. They finally left with the check in hand! My sister called the bank immediately and stopped payment on the check and I called the company and reported Caroline to her supervisor. Since then, I have read HORRIBLE reviews on the DaBella page online how they prey on the elderly. I even found a Facebook page you can look up called " Were you scammed by DaBella". That should tell you something! Just be careful out there folks...as I told my Mom, we are not living in the 50's or 60's anymore. Some people are just not NICE. I hope this helps at least one person. #elderabuse #theft #Dabella

21st Century Austin Painting Siding & Roofing

21st Century Austin Painting Siding & Roofing

I recently had 21st Century repaint the exterior of my house. You can find that review here as…read morewell. I'm writing a new one because this is a different project. After they finished painting my house, a few weeks later after heavy rains I noticed a stain on the ceiling of a guest bedroom. I knew immediately it was the long nagging problem of the "dead valley" along my roof. The house was designed and built according to the architect's drawings to have the roof of the first floor bedroom run into the siding of the house. It was a short "run" and rainfall should go quickly into the gutters. But, this was built under a big, old oak tree and for many years, I've had leaves and twigs built up, damming up the water. If I can remember it, I have to get up on a ladder with a rake and rake the leaves away from where the shingles meet the siding. After one major hailstorm, I had the roof replaced and when they replacing it, I asked them to build something to reduce the leave/branch damming. They did build it, but apparently not big enough. It lasted probably 14-15 years until this recent Spring. Since I had a good experience with 21st Century, I called them out to give me a bid on repairing what was probably rotted trim and exposed flashing and other rot elsewhere. And while they were at it, I asked them to build me a better diverter away from the siding. They came out and took care of it in a day. The guy was there from 8:30 to 5:00, taking a break for lunch, but got it done. Since they were also the painters, they asked me for the leftover paint they left for me (for touch-up) that came in handy as they had to replace the rotten trim and as it turned out a section of the roof decking. Attached are the pictures they took for the bid and then afterwards when they were complete. They were detailed enough to ask me first, "hey, this diversion we're putting in is a lighter grey then your shingles. Are you okay with that? We can go back and get darker materials". I said that was fine. No one can see that part of the roof and so it was trivial to me. The only negative thing from the painting and the roofing experience is so minor it's not worth taking away a star is that there will be a gap between when you sign and return the contract and they contact you about scheduling the actual work. In both cases, I had to drop them a line to remind them I was in the queue. Being a service that can't work when it's raining, I can understand that they have days where scheduled work is delayed and that causes a snowball effect of delays.

Hands down the BEST company to use for your home painting project…read more I requested an exterior paint job on our home and received one of the best reasonable quotes by far from Fine Brush Painting. All details were paid close attention to and if there were any concerns or questions they took care of it, no questions asked. Everything that was listed on the quote was completed and checked off. They worked great around any changes in the weather and completed the work in a timely manner. I greatly appreciate George (owner) & his dad (carpenter work), & Servio, & Elder (paint crew) for the fine job they did. Their expertise and professionalism go a long way. I cannot say enough great things about all of them! Our house looks AMAZING!! Hire this business and this crew!!! You will not regret it!

From the very first day, their professionalism and care stood out. George's father and younger brother handled the trim repairs with skill, while the crew power-washed and carefully taped off every surface: brick, shingles, fence, and more. Their attention to detail was incredible, and it gave us total peace of mind. They even removed the shutters to paint them. The work was all completed very professionally, and they took no shortcuts. What impressed us most was their consistency: always on time, quiet, efficient, and respectful of our property. George personally checked the work every day, which really showed how much pride he takes in his business. Even after we asked for a few extra repairs while the work was in progress, the price stayed exactly as quoted, and it was already the best bid we received. When the job was done, George didn't just pack up and leave. He walked the entire site with us to make sure we were 100% satisfied. That level of customer service is rare these days. Our home looks fantastic, and we couldn't be more grateful. If you're looking for a local, family-owned company that delivers top-quality work at a fair price, George and his team at Fine Brush Painting are the real deal. While this was all exterior work, we will call them again for when it's time to have interior work done, too. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants honest, skilled, and dependable contractors. I will post this accurate and glowing review to Google, too.

We struck up a conversation with a couple next to us and one thing led to another, we had hired Matt to do our kitchen remodel. Matt's team at 787 were excellent. Matt came by and spent a great deal of time with me and the misses in our kitchen. Not only was he extremely helpful in suggestions, colours and patterns for tile, he was also very well educated with current trends and price structures. What turned out to be a simple painting, ended up with complete restoration of our existing cabinets, custom installed slow close drawers and deep custom organizers for our 25 yr+ lower cabinets. New tile back splash, sink/faucet and new counter tops. It wasn't what I originally had planned, but I am so glad we had this all done. The kitchen looks amazing. The Job took much longer than anticipated, but that was totally on us. We decided at the last minute to add the counter tops, which needed to be done first. This meant a re-scheduling of everything else. But once the project started, I believe is was about 7 working days knocking it all out. All his team were courteous, on time, careful and cleaned up after themselves each time they were in. They also fixed a caulking issue in our new remodeled master bathroom and installed a new ceiling light fixture in our laundry room. Matt was there almost everyday to check in and make sure things were being completed in a manner to his expectations. And ours. He will be coming back to complete a few other projects we have in our mind.

Moreover, in an age when one often receives lackluster work and care from companies, 787 continues rendering exceptional quality work, with tremendous professionalism, and always in an attentive and friendly manner. After fixing my water leak in August, I was eager for them to start on my 40-year-old kitchen which desperately needed help. I had put it off, worried about finding a trustworthy contractor who would do quality work and provide guidance in making selections, but now I knew I had that in 787! Matthew, patient and unflappable, took me in hand. He suggested quartz countertops which are durable and low maintenance, and accompanied me to ProSource, where he brought out countertop and backsplash samples I might like, and introduced me to Jonathan, a fantastic rep with a great eye for design. I returned twice more and made countertop, backsplash, grout, sink & faucet choices under Jonathan's excellent guidance & suggestions. Measuring was done, a template made, crews scheduled and work began. First, Jax showed up with his big smile and easy-going attitude to do the demolition, removal of stovetop, sink etc. Next, Carlos and Fabian arrived and diligently and expertly installed the countertop. The next two days Alfredo, assiduously worked at seating the backsplash and pencil tiles, applying the grout, and carefully caulking all around the edges. I then asked Matthew what I could do about my stovetop's horribly rusted downdraft, and if he could install the new, better matching switches and switch plate covers I'd bought. When Jax returned to install the sink, and re-connect the stove top, he showed up, heat resistant paint in hand, and affably re-cleaned and painted the downdraft himself, installed the new switches and plates, and 787 never charged me for this extra work. The last crew, painters Rogelio, Carlos and Bonifacio, came to repair the wall under the bar which had been covered with Formica. I had asked Matthew to also quote me a price for them to stain my 2nd story balcony at a future date, an impossible task for me. Well, before I knew it, not only did they do a wonderful job painting & texturing the wall, matching the texture on my other walls beautifully, but they stained my balcony and the whole under-structure as well! I was amazed, never dreaming that 787 would fit this job into their busy December schedule, and gratefully relieved that this unsurmountable task, to me, had been dealt with in such a routine manner. Matthew, Mariana, & Jax are absolutely awesome! They are as warm, caring, and responsive, as they are knowledgeable, thorough, and committed to excellence. Their crews are respectful, efficient, skilled, and hard working. 787 CONSTRUCTION is truly a one-of-a-kind company!
