Summer of 2023, we met with Cody and his wife of Southern Environmental prior to starting the build of our new home in Prague, OK. We initially had a good meeting and Cody answered all of our questions about the system so on a handshake deal we had Cody and his team install a brand new aerobic septic system for our new home. Within the first few months we noticed the system wasn't working as it should so we called Cody and he came out and replaced a floater. He said because the system sat empty for a period of time prior to us moving in caused the floater to malfunction. We didn't actually move into the home until October 2023. In October of 2025, we noticed the sprinklers were not coming on at all and we were starting to get a really bad smell inside the house. We called Cody and he stated he wouldn't be able to get out to the house for at least a week or more due to other job commitments. He said it sounded like the pump motor has went out. Mind you the system is only 2 years old and it just so happened that it was no longer under warranty. Cody gave us a number of another company to call and said this gentleman would be able to come out quickly and service the system. We had to pump gallons of septic water out of the tanks prior to the system being serviced. After further investigation from this other septic company, our pump motor was completely burnt up and the floater had broken off the pipe. We paid over $10,000.00 for this septic system only to turn around 2 years later and pay another $1,100.00 for repairs. We had to purchase another pump motor, replacement of the floater, and pay to have the tanks completely pumped dry. Southern Environmental lack of concern and poor craftmanship cost us a large amount of repair fees right here during the holidays. Up until this point we had always referred and recommended Southern Environmental to others looking for a new septic system and even considered having Cody install a new system on a recently purchased lake property but this has sense changed. We are at a loss and feel as though Cody should have made this right. We will definitely not be making any more recommendations but we will let others know why not to choose Southern Environmental for septic installations. ~Gina Fry read more
