We were immediately welcomed and the owners took us through the candle making experience step-by-step. The helped us along the way, but let us do it on our own. First we got to smell a bunch of different scents and even combine some to make our very own unique scent for our candles. But I think everyone's favorite part was choosing candle wax decorations to put on top and paint them. It really turned a regular candle into our very own creation. After our candles were made we also had the option to have our scents made into room sprays too! I am so glad we stopped by because the owners were so helpful and knowledgeable. The first was that you are required to check your bag/purse when you arrive in the store. I get it. I really do. Shoplifting is a thing, and if you own a shop, you want to do everything you can to counter this. Still, this isn't a practice that I've seen done anywhere else, and it was a tad off-putting and made me a little uncomfortable to have my purse, wallet, etc. all taken from me during my visit. Even after all of this, I felt as if some of the staff were implementing "anti-theft" approaches to customer service during my visit. There were quite a few staff on-hand that day, so maybe they were just board and genuinely trying to be helpful, but I felt like I was almost being followed and monitored with how frequently they "checked in". In such a small shop, it honestly made the simple art of browsing and feeling the energy of certain pieces really challenging to do. I also found the prices to be a bit high compared to other stores. The location also makes parking a little bit tricky at times. While there are definitely pros to this space, it's not one that I'll go out of my way to revisit any time soon. Now in the regular section, there were lots of Valentine's Day items out already. But unlike Target and Walmart, they did have quite a few christmas items, and the best part is that all christmas items was 50% off! We found chocolate penguins, lots of gift bags, buiscuits, cookies, chocolate and more! We also found some caramel popcorn at the register. Store was pretty crowded too. There was a long line at the register but it moved quickly, and the cashier was very pleasant. Store was also organized, and they did also have lots of wrapping paper, and kids items included like Elmo Wrapping paper, which i thought was cute. Will be back for more home needs!
