This fair has made so many great changes for the better, it's got more food options. More rides, and they had so much entertainment this year it was fun to run from show to show. The fair opened yesterday and from 4 PM to 6 PM all rides were free which was awesome. The only problem we had was the very last ride we timed it perfectly to where our four year old son would be able to ride it for free then we would go get a wristband. The person working the ride let a lady and another child cut in front of us because she was making a scene about her daughter wanting to ride. So he let them on and we ended up being the only people in line so when that session was done and the lady left he said we had to start paying because it was 6 o'clock. No asshole! You let Karen in because she was pitching a fit! My four year old had to wait! We literally were the only people in line and he still would not budge and let my son ride the ride. so if we're all started crying because he didn't understand why we had to walk away from the ride. Ummmm... It's the 106th annual fair celebration. I never knew Perris did this every year. Definitely not like the other fairs. It's very small, unorganized and waaaaaaaay over priced. Half the people operating rides and games are constantly on their phones, laying down, or talking... Very unprofessional. It's definitely good for young kids 5 and younger. Older kids they will get bored quick. The vendors where okay. The food I avoided. read more

This fair has consistently gone down hill for years. The rides are great if you have a friend, if your alone, you don't get to ride. 1 tent with a few exhibits. Fair food which is always great but you need to have a fair to enjoy fair food.. if something doesn't change, I don't see how it will survive. That's sad. read more

This year the fair just sucked! We only stayed 15 minutes. There is no FFA event like the website says. And normally there is several tents and buildings with AC and displays of quilts and cooking competitions and exhibits to enjoy while the heat of the day is at it's worst. This year, you are just stuck outside baking in 100* heat. If you don't do rides, forget it! Don't waste your money. read more

I went to the fair this past weekend. Like the other yelper said it's different than OC or the LA County Fairs. It's more of a hometown country fair with a good size carnival and a lot of food and entertainment. It's a relaxed atmosphere and isn't commercial like the other big fairs. If you have kids it's a great family event to take them and enjoy the day. read more

This fair has potential. After 100 years you'd think it would be way better. The food we tried from different vendors was gross. Bacon wrapped corn dog, almost still frozen in the middle. Giant pickle even was un edible. The pigs were bloody and covered with flies. The fun houses were a joke, like duct taped together. For the cost you'd think they would be better. The rides for kids were okay. No real safety precautions take though. Sheriffs walking around, so it was pretty safe. The exhibits were few and low quality other than the art and photography. The carney's were baaaaad, like couldn't care less. No concerts or races going on while we were there, which may great. Not planning on going back to this fair again unless it improves. read more

This is the worst fair I have ever visited. It is certainly not worth the long drive to the middle of nowhere to endure horrible heat without air conditioning and see next to nothing. In addition to this, it has now destroyed one of my entries in their Clothing and Textiles competition. Do not enter anything you value in the Southern California Fair. This year they separated my dress from its matching choker although the two pieces constituted a single entry and then destroyed the dress while displaying only the choker! They didn't even have the decency to (1) inform me of their inappropriate and foolish decision before the fair opened, (2) inform me when they discovered the damage to the dress (shown here with a red paper inside the dress to highlight the hole, which is surrounded by shredding of the delicate fabric apparently perpetrated by a rodent) when my friend picked it up from the fairgrounds Perris, or (3) apologize to me for their negligence in permitting such a thing to happen and (4) offer to pay damages. Furthermore, they didn't respond to my email message complaining of their wrongdoing! I shall never again enter my lace in this ridiculously small fair held in extreme heat in the middle of nowhere. read more

We visited this fair on October 14th, it was the last day. I had purchased the tickets previously online and it was about $2 less per person. The admission tickets were very inexpensive. Parking was about $8per vehicles... we paid that on site, the area was a little muddy due to the rain the day before (but not too bad). Entering the area was very interesting as we were searched more than the Del mar (san diego county) fair. My purse was also searched, they pulled out a ziplock that I forgot was in my purse with a total of 3 small pretzels... I was told I had to eat them there or throw them out (I thought that was funny), I chucked them in the trash. 3 pretzels weren't going to keep us from purchasing food. The food was like any other fair (minus the deep fried twinkies, frog legs... exotic food) hotdogs, pizza, burgers, Turkey legs, shaved ice, funnel cakes; the food price was also like any other fair a little pricey for what it was but just as expected. Now let me tell you that the ride tickets were more expensive than the big fairs. Most rides cost 6 tickets but the ferris wheel was 10 tickets (believe it or not). They had a small amount of vendors. They also had shows, we attended the extreme bull riding (it was very fun) and the race car derby (even more fun). We had a fun filled day, it is a small fair but with the shows and everything else we spent about 6 hours here. It was honestly the less expensive fair. O would definitely recommend this fair. read more

Loved it. Fun for everyone. Shows were cool, bands rocked. Kids loved the rides. Very affordable for the family. The livestock was fun to see and pet. We saw a baby calf that had just been born minutes earlier. Awesome experience. read more

Kids had a blast, its not the OC or LA County Fairs, but it right up there in it's own special way. A lot less people and prices are better for the family. I was really surprised that they even had a fair out here but will return next year with the family for a night of fun. read more

Perris Fair It has be about three years since we been here and things have changed. Gates open at 11am and we arrived around 1130. We planned to eat lunch but most places were either closed or wait time was 20-30 minutes. Our first order was about 12:00 and still 20 minutes for fair food, makes no sense to me. If the food location will not be open till 12 the open gates at 12. My family like to share plates so we get a little of everything thing. We only go for the food and nothing really amazing to talk about. We are not beer drinkers but how can beer cost less than a corn dog. $10 to park and 10$ per persons over 12yrs. We paid $50 total just to park and entry. Then another $60 for food. I really don't think $110 for the 4hours we were there was worth it. They had cows and goats and only had 5 pigs in petting zoo. Website and programs have pigs all over it but no pigs in animal area. Can't review rides because my family is not into rides. I do know tickets have to be bought for rides. I don't think we will be returning to fair do to the high cost. I did hear that this year a different company was running the fair. read more

I was at the old farmers fair Socal fair. Last night 10-2-16 went to use the rest room. 5 cleaning people were by the doors 2 men & 3 women I had to ask if I could go in. When I got in there was human shit in the stalls I came out to see the cleaning staff were trying to get as far from there as they could. Im sure they knew how bad it was in there. read more

I like this fair because it's small but there's enough. The reason I'm giving only 3 stars is because I brought a bus full of seniors today (it's senior day). I have a work credit card, but they don't take cards. Ok, but I only have a couple dollars on me and they won't let me in for the senior price. So instead, I am sitting in the parking lot in my bus hoping my seniors don't need me. I get it, but it doesn't seem very customer service-y considering I'm the bus driver and chaperone of a group of seniors up into their 90's and its 102-degrees today. read more

This is like a fair for people with low self esteem. Not a single weird/grotesque thing on a stick? Nothing interesting to eat. Just a bunch of turkey legs, sausages, hot dogs, mexican food, fries, funnel cake. Snoozefest on the food. Take a lesson from real fairs and get something interesting going on. A fair is all about taking things, combining them with other things, and then deep frying them in vats of oil. What's the point of getting food at a fair you can get anywhere else. Other than this just a bunch of carnival games and cheap rides. They have musical acts which are probably interesting if you're into top 40 style music. So I guess if you like the musical act of the night, then it would be worth going. But other than that, I can't see the point. Step up your food game, Southern California Fair! read more

The weather put a strain on a couple of days, but the weather was comfortable the rest of the days. Love the hay bucking contests, the bull riding was exciting for all ages, delicious pork chop on a stick and the best corn dog (everyday)! Lack of vendors is not good for us who love to shop! Heritage Village was really well done, beautiful flower displays and decorations. I was so disappointed in the fair this year. Had my granddaughter color in the coloring contest. Submitted it before the deadline. And was so looking forward to seeing it posted for my granddaughter to find. As I did with my daughter and niece 20 years ago for a couple of years. Wanted to do this with my granddaughter. Walked the whole fair and asked customer service and vendors and also messaging before and during the fair. The coloring contest were not posted. It was wierd experience. I came to a front gate that says southern California fair and entrance then they asked me to walk long way to get to back windows that decided if is the entrance. Then the ticket was 45 dollars for one day ride so I purchased two so they let me ride with my son that's beside the entrance to fair ticket which is 25 for an adult and 12 for a child so I played two adults and one child for 62 dollars then charged taxes to 67 dollars then food is expensive and people are rude ignorant and they just stare with disgust .I had fun because my kid.they wouldn't tell you any information. Hot dog is 17 dollars just a bun and a hot dog . They put different people to mislead me on the phone. I have to ask indirect questions to get my answers. No faucets for water if you ask them they give you how dare you ask for free water kinda look since greedy selfish peopleare icons of today's life fashion in old days no one dare even to ask for a faucets they are everywhere but now they make you feel guilty if you want free water which is sick as I see and it will get sicker ! .no umbrellas for shade.no chairs.no restaurants and no benches I think foundations bench and it was completely hot made of steel or something that was the only bench. We sat by horses restaurant and lady came ride to us leave after you eat this is only for horse bidders. I asked about the lake itself they told me it is for camping only then I have to find out my self a truth that you can go swimming and it is free then lady said no thing is free for you so what's this ? I'm not giving this place any damn stars because they screwed & burned me and my friend out of our money! We were not informed that the $8 admission price did not include rides which was am extra $28! We found out by accident from a guy that wanted us to play games and security did not help us and neither did the ladies at the gate or the so called supervisor who did not even have the courtesy to come talk to us! He just told one of the ladies who that they don't give refunds instead of just giving us a few tickets for a few rides and just telling us now we know for next time cause no one informed us and we asked how much the tickets were and they said $8 for admission, there are no signs when u drive up nor are the full prices up on the window at the entrance where u get the tickets. Any one of them coukd have told us this don't include rides or asked us if we are going on rides instead of just taking our F'N money and saying ol well we don't give refunds! Then the chick at the gate was very rude and acted like we were stupid cause we did not know this information and they are the ones hosting it! We are the customers and it is there job to properly inform us about the event that they are having! She said its on the website but not everyone has a computer and people r not going to drive by and go online, they will see it and maybe want to bring there families, spouses etc and if they get up there pay $8 thinking that covers rides then find out that it was just the price to go in and walk around who's at fault? We were burned and its only $16 but the fact that they did not even try to make the situation better pissed us off. Never again and they should be shut down for scamming people like that. Horrible place to go. Management has gone down hill, over priced for crappy carnival rides and poor entertainment, would rather pay higher prices for great entertainment that was close to home and quality rides for the kids without having to drive to san diego or pamona. A great local concert and rides for the kids are worth the extra cash to have local entertainment that was worth 8 dollar parking and even a 20 ticket to see a popular band, instead, you get poor entertainment, high priced rides and expensive beer and fair food along with horrible seats to see or listen to a band because at the venue only front row seats are good seats which sre reserved for board members and sponsors the rest of the seats you cannot see the performers unless you stand on a plastic chair that may break. This fair could be great, but as it is right now you get what you pay for. Cheap admisdion, expensive cheap rides if any most of them are mazes that u walkthrough and no vendors to go shopping at like at normal fairs and festivals. Be careful you get what you pay for. I hope in the future the old Farmers Fair returns and you get the value of a dollar for visiting a home town event. With great entertainment while raising money for the local 4 h and ffa kids education. That's what ca fairs are all about. read more
