    Ummmm... Looking for toy guns???

Ummmm... It's the 106th annual fair celebration. I never knew Perris did this every year. Definitely not like the other fairs. It's very small, unorganized and waaaaaaaay over priced. Half the people operating rides and games are constantly on their phones, laying down, or talking... Very unprofessional. It's definitely good for young kids 5 and younger. Older kids they will get bored quick. The vendors where okay. The food I avoided.

My souvenir cup to the southern California fair...

This fair has consistently gone down hill for years. The rides are great if you have a friend, if your alone, you don't get to ride. 1 tent with a few exhibits. Fair food which is always great but you need to have a fair to enjoy fair food.. if something doesn't change, I don't see how it will survive. That's sad.

I went to the fair this past weekend. Like the other yelper said it's different than OC or the LA County Fairs. It's more of a hometown country fair with a good size carnival and a lot of food and entertainment. It's a relaxed atmosphere and isn't commercial like the other big fairs. If you have kids it's a great family event to take them and enjoy the day.

This place is so much fun. I'd recommend going on their website to find out about deals and offers available only on certain days.

Getting there: So just fair warning, getting to Lake Perris…read morein general is a mission because it's one way in and one way out. Leaving the festival on Saturday took us at least an hour and a half to get out of the parking lot. Also, you have no cell reception once you're inside the camping area so plan accordingly. Experience: This was a really unique and cool festival. It's what I imagine Coachella used to be back in the day. It's right on the lake; you can actually bring floaties inside to get in the water. We didn't though because it was quite chilly that day. To be honest, I really went to see Tame Impala and he did not disappoint. He performed 'Lonerism' in its entirety and it was one of the best performances I've seen. The main stage is kinda tucked into the back corner of the festival, but oddly enough you can still have a clear view from in the back. We didn't even attempt to go up to the front because it seemed impossible to make it up there. I really liked that this festival had a little farmers market type area with fun unique vendors of all types. I would recommend this festival for anyone that is into Indie (house) vibes.

This was my first time at the Southern California Railway Museum. We went for the Thomas & Friends…read more"Day Out with Thomas" event. I have to share how impressed I was with the event from beginning to end. The JROTC or other military program was there volunteering their time to put on this event. When boarding the trains, they asked if I needed assistance with Tristan's wheelchair and getting him on the train. They also asked if we needed a quieter cab because Tristan has Autism. This made us feel extremely welcomed because my son and Godson both have Autism. It was not only inclusive but equitable. There was also plenty of handicap parking when entering. Have your placard up so they know where to direct you. The entrance fee includes a ride with Thomas and is $30.85 per person. If you'd like, you can also ride Percy for an extra $10. Of course we rode both. This event is not super large and it wasn't overly crowded. That could've been due to the rain. They do allow outside food and drinks in which helps with cost. The only suggestions I'd make is to offer more seating areas. Seating seemed to be limited even with the small crowd. Another suggestion would be to have a quiet tent for kiddos to wind down in. They had games, a hay maze, bouncers, dance tent, infant changing tent, access to the museums, opportunities to ride, photo opportunities, the museum guest shop, the Thomas guest shop, and food vendors. If your children love trains, definitely take them. Next week is the last week for Thomas and he won't be back until next year.

Note, I could find the kit for under $5 dollars per person on Amazon. You're paying for the opportunity to let your lantern drift into the lake and it's pretty satisfying. Seeing all the lanterns float together and observing everyone's wishes, hopes, challenges, and positive messages posted on the lanterns was inspiring! The staff at check-in was really polite and helpful. There's live music but it's for about 30mins or so, wish it was longer. Also, there's food trucks (stay away from the Salt N Pepper Truck, I wasted most of the festival waiting in line). I wish the staff was monitoring more, there's a lot of people, so I wish they were tending to the guests. I was happy that there was police presence as the sheriff station is nearby to this festival site. There's merchandise at the Festival Shop if you're looking to buy any keepsakes and there's local vendors alongside the Elm Grove Beach sidewalk. The festival here in Lake Elsinore is still growing so lots of kinks are still being worked out. The parking situation is madness. The venue is not good for a festival this size so expect to park on the street and/or walk from several blocks away. Bring a cart to load your chairs. I'll return but I'm definitely bringing my own food next time!
