Our experience with SouthEast Doodles had its ups and downs. We found their website online in April of 2020 and called Sean to get more information about the mini goldendoodles they had listed on their site. He was very kind and informative. We asked specifically about if the dogs would shed and what their full grown size would be. He told us they definitely would not shed and that they would be between 30-35lbs fully grown. We felt like his answers to our questions were honest and he gave us the option to leave a $350 deposit which could be refunded at any time. We were unsure at first because the puppies were only 4 weeks old and all we had to look at were the photos on the website. We asked for videos too but we were told we couldn't get them until the puppies were 6 weeks old and weaned from their mom. We decided to take our chances since the deposit was refundable and called to ask about the next steps. We placed a deposit on a male puppy that following day. We continued to ask for videos because we were anxious to see the personality of the puppy. It took a while for us to get videos after continually asking. However, Sean was very good with answering our phone calls every time we called. We finally received videos of the puppy we placed a deposit on and were unsure if we made the right pick. So, we asked for videos of the other two boys in the litter and decided to switch our deposit to another puppy. Sean was very nice about letting us switch our deposit to a different puppy. As it got closer to the pick up date my family and I realized we needed to pick the puppy up one day earlier than the day listed on the website. After talking to Sean and Shakira they were flexible and said we could come a day earlier to get the puppy. We drove to their home in Georgia to get the puppy on May 29th and met with them in the morning. Shakira brought the puppy out to us and gave us vet paperwork. We then went over the financial information. On their website it had a charity listed and it stated that if you donated $50 or more to this charity in Haiti, they would give you $150 off the price of any puppy. My family and I made the donation and sent the receipt the day we did it, but never heard a response through email. So, we brought it up in person and Shakira said that they weren't doing that anymore and that she told Sean to take it off the website but he hadn't done it yet. Regardless, she did not honor our donation by giving us a discount even though their website was outdated. Further, when we went to pay the price of the puppy we had to pay a processing fee as well as a tax which were both hidden fees to us. We were not told about these fees in advance and they hit us by surprise, making it seem like our deposit wasn't accounted for in the final price. One other discrepancy with their website was that it said the puppies will come with some food, a blanket with their moms scent, and a toy. We didn't receive any of these items until asking before we left for some food for the road. We now know that other families who picked up puppies from the same litter did receive these items. Upon seeing the puppy and picking him up we were surprised by the size of him. He seemed a little bigger than we thought he would be but we were reassured by Shakira that he would top off around 35lbs. I asked her what he currently weighed and she told me 8lbs. However, after driving home later that day and weighing the puppy as well as looking at vet papers she gave us, both revealed the puppy was in fact 14lbs. The following day we took him to our own vet who confirmed his weight and checked his stool for parasites. A few days later we got results that the puppy had a clean bill of health and was up to date on shots which we were very thankful for. In the following months I reached out to Sean and Shakira sending them photo updates of the puppy and letting them know he was healthy. They used many of his photos on their social media to promote their business. About a month after having the puppy I told them that he was growing extremely quickly and that the vet said he would be larger than 35lbs. When confronted with this Shakira said that "genetics aren't an exact science so he may be a little bigger than we thought." I said I understood but he still shouldn't be too much bigger than that since I thought I was dealing with experienced breeders. Months and months go by and my dog continues to grow at an alarmingly fast rate. He is now 7 months old and 60lbs. He is clearly not a mini goldendoodle and is in fact a standard goldendoodle. The size of the dog was very important to me because I will be moving to an apartment in the following year. Luckily I was able to get in contact with 4 other families who got puppies from the same litter as my dog. Two of them did genetic testing on their dogs and the results came back that they were 50% golden retriever and 50% standard poodle. Thankful for a healthy dog but they lie. read more

Our experience with SouthEast Doodles is being GREAT! Sean and Shakira are the nicest persons to deal with. They have lots of knowledge and they go beyond their obligation to explain everything to us, and to help us BEFORE AND AFTER purchasing the dog. We were very hesitant to buy a dog from another State, but we are completely satisfied with our Dog, which we purchased on April this year (2021). I can call Sean at anytime and he will answer my calls. He will even help me with training hints. If I could give them a 0 star I would. I paid them $1900 to train my goldendoodle in February and the only thing that they did was board my puppy. I am actually paying for her to be trained AGAIN by a different trainer. Let's start here I made contact with them on several occasions which they say I did not. They sent these videos while having her and they were very brief if I can even call them brief of what they were training her. Anyway I called the owner he said he would call me back never did called him several weeks later and I explained that my dog was not trained and that I wanted to work something out because I felt like I paid for nothing he got defensive I told him I really just would like to work something out and not be on bad terms however he said I don't want to talk to you have your husband call me. I had my husband call he proceeds to tell my husband that he wanted to talk to him because I was yelling at him (anyway not true) however he told my husband that because we didn't call him he would not do anything to correct the situation. My husband told him that I had called a few times and there was no resolve and the least he could do is come to a middle ground and at least train our dog or some kind of refund, he refused. So they are good with just stealing money. I don't know what kind of puppies they offer I will say they are beautiful but I will say either they don't know how to train a dog or they didn't have the time because in this process I learned that they breed a lot of dogs at one time with just the 2 of them ( husband and wife team) I am not here to bash anyone but I think right is right and you don't just take someone's hard earned money a don't deliver what was promised and paid for. I am also filing with the better business bureau. Hope this helps someone else. read more

This company gave me a quote for boarding two puppies and a French Bulldog and when I called back to bring them, one of the clean up guys answered the phone and said the owner went up $150 over the normal fee. Bad business!!! read more

Sean and Shakira from Southeast Doodles are amazing! We HIGHLY recommend them!! In searching for our perfect pup, we came across a straight-haired mini Labradoodle named Annie (now known as Gracie). We inquired about her online and described what we were looking for, including a dog that would be suitable to go everywhere possible with her human parents. We shared that we wanted a dog that would be friendly, affectionate and have a great personality. We were also looking for a pup who would grow to around 30 lbs, so she could easily travel with us. However, it was scary to think of getting a puppy who we had never met and who lived very far away. Sean contacted me immediately after my online inquiry and after we spoke for a bit, he said that he thought Gracie could be a great match for us. He helped us set up a Zoom meeting within hours of our initial conversation. What a great way to meet a pup and see how they are being raised, when you cannot meet them in person! We put down our deposit and began the process of planning travel for our pup. While we waited for Gracie to arrive, Sean and Shakira were INCREDIBLE!! They sent us pictures and videos and answered all of our many questions, so we could understand more about our puppy's personality and the WONDERFUL way that she was raised. The puppies are raised in the home with lots of love! All the videos showed how clean the environment is kept for the pups. They also have access to a wonderful yard to play in. It was very important to us to have a puppy that was home raised, and it is clear the family is completely involved in socializing and raising the puppies. Sean and Shakira communicated with us every step of the way, and Gracie arrived safe and sound. EVERYTHING that Sean and Shakira said about her is TRUE. She is healthy, loving, calm, snuggly and has a ton of personality! It took a lot of trust from us to get a puppy without meeting her in person. The amazing communication level that Sean and Shakira had with us, made us feel that we were in great hands. We cannot imagine being without Gracie. Sean and Shakira from Southeast Doodles made our dream come true. They are people you can trust and rely on!! They care about their dogs and they give them each individual love and attention.
