Stayed here while passing through Palmerston North from Napier to Wellington. I was a little…read morebummed because I tried to book a room through Expedia on my phone (advertised for $136/night) but had issues with my Internet connection. Front desk was unable to honor that price quote (paid $155/night) but the staff person was otherwise very friendly and helpful with getting us checked in. He let us look at 2 rooms so we could see what size was right for us and even bumped another booking to a different room so that we could have a room further back from the street. The rooms are very large. We got a standard room and it had a super king bed and a single bed, the spa bath tub, a table and 2 chairs and plenty of kitchen stuff (plates, fridge, cooktop, microwave and sink). We also looked at the one bedroom suite - it was enormous and on 2 levels. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. We walked around the square and had dinner at an Irish pub about a block from here. This place is across the street from a mall and there are several eating establishments within a very short walking distance.

We stayed for one night and found the unit lovely and clean…read more Everything that we need, cooked a couple of meals there. Had a Maltess 11month old puppy who has been house trained with us, and my husband & myself would visit there again. It is so very close to " Ezy Buy" a clothing store, and walking distance to the Kiwi Railcar Trips, also short walk to the Dairy, and a few minutes by car into the city. Your host Joan is just so lovely and helpful, we will be back.

We just happened to sit where we could see the food coming out of the kitchen and it all looked great. Very nice seating with the choice of a pub experience or outside in the courtyard.

We stayed here during my brothers graduation and .. well, I feel conflicted about writing this…read morereview and comparing it to Vegas, Hawaii, Surfers or even Auckland and Wellington but travel raises standards, and the Travelodge was the little engine that could; It makes it, but without any energy left. Sophistication is not in evidence, the air conditioning barely worked, there was rust in the shower and during a windy night the windows rattled slightly and made a howling noise. Travelodge does the basics well though, the location is great the onsite bar is fairly intimate and the staff were friendly and nice.

The front desk was cordial, the rooms are comfy and nicely appointed, and the bathroom has a stand-in shower that is modern and unique. The hotel is within a relatively quick walk to the "Town Square," where you'll find all the restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops to complete your tour of Palmerston North.
