We have left our 2 dogs at South 40 kennel for several years. We are very happy with the care they receive there. I have a VERY old dog and I can travel without worrying because I think they are in very good hands. I live about an hour's drive from the kennel but it is well worth driving to know that your pups will be so well-cared for. I highly recommend this boarding facility. read more

The elderly people are very nice here. However, I cannot help but wonder if this business is too much for them. I have left my puppy with them twice over the past couple of months and at first I thought that they were doing a great job. But today when I went there it was quite obvious that their capabilities of caring for my fur baby was very ill equipped. They will not let me see inside so that I may judge the safety issues for myself. But when my baby got returned to me I could tell by the the stench on her that she had been wallowing in aged pee and the toys that I sent with her were returned filthy. Not to mention the fact that it was obvious that they did not follow my feeding instructions for her as the poor girl was famished when she got in the vehicle and was trying to frantically destroy a bag of food that I had just bought for her. And when I finally went to feed her she just started shaking as if she was afraid that she wouldn't get another morsel. Needless to say I won't be using these people in the future. read more
