My routine follow up today after a procedure last week. I met with Olivia, who was most professional, caring, and listened to and successfully addressed my concerns. I can't say enough about this dental office. I just wish I had found them long ago. Thank you to everyone!! Including reception, who are so very welcoming and upbeat. I've actually left certain dental practices because of their negative and rude office staff. South County Smiles is by far the best overall dental practice I have ever used, and I have tried many, many practices. I have needed extensive care over the years and when I saw that SCSmiles uses conscious sedation when needed, I decided to give them a try. I was NOT disappointed! I have had routine care done there as well as tooth lengthening, gum surgery, bone grafts, caps & crowns, bridges, root canals, and tooth implants. I could never have done all this without a capable and talented dental team who treated me with respect and always made sure I was comfortable. The office has also been very accommodating with payments. I have dental insurance but all these specialized treatments are not covered by my insurance. I went to south county smiles and dr disano in particular after the the other dentist (arrowhead and dr hungry cedar mark) did the root canal on the wrong tooth, at any rate...that was back in may ... dr disano got me in earlier than the arrowhead to finish that tooth , but things didn't go well here either its november now and he just redid the crown on mistake root canal tooth but its still not right and have been in pain all these months , he doesn't take molds of your tooth to make another , and doesn't seem to know how to make a tooth. while waiting for the second crown to be made, i looked at the situation and saw the next tooth one had a crack going from the gum to the biting surface, when I asked about it , he said to leave it , the crack was in between the teeth so once you put the crown on you can't get to it to fix it. so sealing th fate of that tooth . He was not going to mention it at all and the explorer tool did get caught in it. I still can't close my mouth without fear of the pain .. its like electricity pain so maybe still to high on the second back tooth , he has tried several times to adjust it and its just not working, I have been there a dozen times or more , and seen plenty of people coming back in to get things redone or more glue put on their tooth that has come loose. one of the girls said he does his rework on saturdays... why not just get it right the first time. he is an old guy and maybe this was not his calling if you want a dentist that is in and out of the room while its your operation happening and then back to do a quick and dirty job of it .... I call him the cowboy dentist ... then this is your guy I'm looking for a lawyer ... Ive lost 6 months and 10K and looking at more now to deal with the cracked tooth and redo these crowns that are ill fitting and causing pain for this whole time. I had to put off my surgeries too. I didn't want to be in a wheel chair or anything in this small place . with no response from this dentist , Im wanting my money back and pain and suffering ... My family and I have been going to South County Smiles for over 20 years. I trust the hygienists and doctors 100%. They work together to address all of our concerns and do not push any treatment that is not needed. My in-laws have recently moved to the area, and they, too, are very happy new patients. The care they received at the prior dentist was inadequate, and they are now on a treatment plan to make better oral hygiene decisions. The office is bright, clean, and very high-tech. Had been over 25 years since my last dental appointment, so needless to say I was apprehensive going in. But everyone was calm and accommodating, and I was about as relaxed as I ever had been at the dentist. While I can't and don't I think I ever will classify going to the dentist as an enjoyable experience, this was by far the best experience at the dentist I've ever had. read more

I had a great first check up with the team at South County smiles. From the happy friendly front desk staff that greeted me, to the friendly hygienist (Amanda) and the Dentist, everyone was great. I hadn't had any check ups in over a year, so I got a full work up including a full panel of x-rays. Both the hygienist and Dentist gave them a detailed look and explained everything, even the good parts of my mouth. Yes, the staff at South County Smiles is friendly, and the office is certainly high tech. But it felt like the incentives were all about doing the most work they could possibly get insurance companies to approve: in other words, making the most money. As a new patient, you get not the owner as your dentist, but the newest guy who came through the door. This newest guy told me I needed a huge amount of work but did not explain his recommendations clearly so that I could understand and trust him. When the first crown did not go smoothly, I found a more traditional doctor who I trust: someone who practices alone (instead of exploiting a team of younger employees), is conservative (recommended a fraction of the work the SC Smiles doctor said I needed), and is the first dentist who identified that I need a night guard (which has helped enormously). If you want a sleek factory geared to making profit, go to SC Smiles; if you want a dental PRACTICE, look elsewhere. read more
