The wait staff and the pizza was good. You're able to get 8" size pizza with what ever you would like on it. I have never go a bad dinner. Very homey place. Has been for a long time. It is a true secret of where they are located. read more

The pizza is great. However, the service over the last few months isn't great. My orders have been messed up even after the order has been repeated (pick up order). Sometimes the pizza is the best and sometimes it's quite lack luster. The staff isn't the most pleasant at the front where you pick up the order. read more

I've been coming here for 20 years, always good. Not this time. Pizza was over baked to point all I could taste was burnt crust and cheese. Sauce was pasty. I barely saw mushrooms and couldn't find or taste green onion or peppers. I called the waitress for a menu thinking I was served the wrong pizza, but she said it is all on there. Since moving here to Arizona I've found that trying mew places to dine at can be alot of fun. Last night we tried sourdough pizza here on Mesa and sorry I have to say I wasn't by any means impressed with their spaghetti. The marinara sauce was absolutely terrible. I had a taste of bloody mary mix and was so bland that I had to use a quarter of a jar of the powdered parmesan cheese mix that to didn't have a flavor to it either. Now the spaghetti noodles were cooked but with all the sauce on it made it worse than my high school prom date. My boyfriend ordered a small mushroom, onion and canadian bacon pizza that I was honestly afraid to try. The customer service was ok but this place isn't by any means a place that I would recommend to any friends or family members nor will I be returning here myself. read more

Everything was perfect for a class reunion! We enjoyed their food! Atmosphere was just fine.

Small little spot, dark inside and there are no tvs to watch sports. But the food and pizza is very good!

Remember the good old days when you'd go out for pizza with your parents in a small restaurant with short ceilings and soda was served in those big red textured cups? Not only did this place throw me back to 1989, but honestly it's the best damn pizza I've had out here. The crust has a nice crispy cornmeal dusted bottom, great flavor, with plenty of toppings. I was right when I guessed that the owners were from the Midwest. Some of their pizzas included ground chuck and green onions. You can also add green olives as well which is hard to find out here as well. The place was all decked out for Halloween which was so much fun, and Heather was the perfect server. Sourdough is my go to place when I am down visiting my Dad. The service is chatty and light hearted. The food is good with good pizza options. And the ambiance is solid as it is nicely decorated and overall an enjoyable evening where you can enjoy the evening with a glass of wine. I highly recommend spending an evening here! read more

Walked out after waiting 45 minutes after only being served a salad...thats right. I got food before my drink. This is not the first time I have experienced something with this restraunt. About 3 weeks ago I was here with a group of six and was the last to recieve my meal after the rest of the group had PAID for their bill. I was visiting my folks for a few days and my mom said that there was a pizza place that she tried, and she thought it was the best pizza she ever had. So I figured I had to give it a shot. And man am I glad I did!! This was I think the best pizza that I've ever had, it had the perfect balance of sweet salty tangy little bit of everything without overwhelming you. This place has been open for decades but when you go in, it is hard to understand why. At 5pm on a Saturday the place was nearly empty and a whole section of the restaurant was dark. I will say i do like the pizza but the prices are way too high. $37 for a thin crust 16" pizza with only three sparse toppings is spendy for an East Mesa pizza joint that has been in the same suite without a remodel for decades. Maybe if the pizza was not so pricey, they would be busy on a Saturday night. read more

This past Friday , however, I found myself running errands nearby and realized a pizza could work for both the urgent snack,that I desperately needed , as well as an easy dinner plan for just myself. My fella was not with me this evening so I decided to indulge in a gross and fragrant Greek pizza ! I ordered the "White Pizza" that includes no red sauce, but with garlic olive oil and ricotta as well as two toppings included. I went a little wild and added onions as well as ANCHOVIES, green olives & sun-dried tomato. Wow ! What a Burst of authentic Mediterranean flavors,on a truly EXCEPTIONAL CRUST ! I wisely remembered to get some of their house- made RANCH dressing for dipping the pizza bones . The pie here is every bit as good as I remembered . I must somehow come more often . read more

I've visited 40 or so times. always great food. Good service. Fair prices. Love it. I've been coming to Sourdough Pizza for many years, even before I started using Yelp. Bottom line- the pizza is excellent. Always hot, tasty and perfect flavors. It's a unique crust that is perfect with a crunch and still softness that really complements the savory tasty of the cheese and toppings. The staff is fast and kind. It can definitely get busy, but that is true of any really good restaurant. The area this restaurant is in means they have a lot of winter visitors who patronize the pizza shop, so it can be extra busy in the winter season. Conversely, there is al wa days room in the summer months. If you've never tried sourdough pizza, definitely give this a try. I think you will love it. read more

A 1 star review is not what I usually do, but dang! We stopped in here because it was in the same parking lot as an antique store. The hostess who seated us wasn't wearing a mask, but I'd hoped our server would. Yeah, the hostess was our server. She seems like a nice person, but the average age of the customers there is over 70. It's negligent. It's possible that the waitress and nearly all of the other staff were unmasked because they've already had Covid, but it's clear to me that they will soon if they didn't. The 2nd star is because their beer prices are good. The food was meh. I wish I had just turned around because it was in no way worth the risk of exposure that it poses. read more

Wow - I've been meaning to go here for so long, and I don't know why I waited. I'm gluten free but can eat sourdough without problems. The crust here was the pizza crust of my dreams. No more frozen cardboard gluten free crusts for me! Light, airy, and absolutely delicious. I was transported back to my childhood, when my parents would take me to modest, dark, old-school Italian restaurants. If you're fine with a no fuss setting and love good Midwestern-style pizza, you have to check them out. Ordered pizza to pick up based on someone's recommendation. He raved about it. All I can say is he must be used to some crappy places as this was a huge disappointment! My pizza had a thin crust and was a #9 with 2 choices of additional toppings as offered. The artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes were hard to find - practically non existent. My friend got a thick crust pizza and was also disappointed in hers. I admit I'm from the northeast where we have Italian neighborhoods with very authentic and excellent Italian food, but I've better than this all over the US. read more

The restaurant was empty except the owner and her daughter. We told her we had 6 on our party. She said she wanted us to wait so she could clean a table. 20 minutes , understand , completely empty restaurant, 20 minutes later still not seated and still alone in the restaurant. She was rude with a nasty look in her face . She told my daughter she needed to stop cussing because it was a family restaurant... my daughter (18) sincerely apologized for saying the word $hit and the lady went on and on about how unacceptable her behavior was and she wouldn't have that in her family restaurant and that she had her 11 year old daughter working there . I understand and respect that the word $hit may not be appropriate but again we were alone and my daughter apologized way more than necessary... Then she continued to lecture my daughter This woman was so rude we left. She obviously didn't want our business since she didn't seat us after all that time. She made the situation so uncomfortable it wasn't worth it When we told someone about our experience, they said they had a rotten experience because of her rudeness and slow service. I should've been tipped off by the lack of patrons since it sits adjacent to a high school and we were visiting after a musical performance. Not one person from the performance went to this pizza place. I think that speaks volumes in and of itself It's a restaurant, not church. It was not all that serious.
