This is my third year going to Soup Fest. Why I come back: 1. They always do well with picking a variety of soup vendors. 2. They get a few stands that accommodate special diets (gluten free, vegan), and even denote these ahead of time on the menu. 3. The prices are fair. For $2-3 a sample you get a good amount of soup. Some people think this is expensive but one sample is enough for two people to have a few bites, so go with someone and split the cost. 4. They keep the place clean and empty the garbages regularly. What they could improve on: 1. Put the menu in order either by number or alphabetically by name. 2. Ask the vendors to post their soups in a highly visible place, and ask ALL to post their prices (most did) 3. Setup lines 4. Consider setting up a small aisle behind stands so the soup carts can access. With the amount of people, transporting anything was difficult for those folks. What I would like to see in upcoming years: 1. Soup-related vendors that don't carry soup, such as locally made breads, herbs/spices/soup mixes to take home, or a place with side salads. 2. Consider adjusting the layout, the center aisle was insanely packed yet the last aisle had no soup vendors so it was empty. They could've expanded the center aisle more to accommodate the long lines. Looking forward to coming again next year!

First time attending. Good soup, decent crowd, the venue was pretty uninspired. Not a bad event to attend on a cold winter's day.

Def. Not atteding the soup festival next year. Not worth it. Over priced, unorganized, the soups were not tasty at all. Limited tables and put them all in random locations. People had no space to walk around or even had hard time to find the right lane to line up to get their soups The Louisiana at the end sold most of their soups. So they just add more water and seasoning in their jumbo soup to sell it to people. Very disappointed!! Nothing really speical at all. I would rather spend the money to go a nice restaurant instead of paying a fee to attend the event and tickets to purchase the soups!!!

My first time at soupfest ! Great variety ! Liked the set up . But... By 3 alot of vendors were out of 1 of their soups . Most popular of course . Have to give 5 stars to Zoup who was still going strong with 3 soups at 430 ! Plus their lobster bisque was award winning ! The poor cupcake people were overwhelmed ! Gone by 3! But I loved it and will b back . For 21 dollars u could have 7 soups!! Quite the deal !

I bought this at the Soup fest 2017. This was made by Abigail Bachman at Barker Central School. Inspired by the impact of food and love.

Very, very crowded. We had some good soups, but several we wanted to try were sold out.

Oh. My. Word! First, I'll start with the one, single…read moredisappointing thing... The day we visited, they did not have any baked goods (they said they only have them on the weekend), so we couldn't try the peras de coco (coconut rolls). But, perhaps it was kind of a blessing because our picada was plentiful. The dining area isn't huge, but they also do take out. There are about 5 or so tables to dine in. The service was a tad slow, but very friendly; I believe there was only one person waiting, cooking & serving AND the food was more than worth the wait! We ordered the picada for 4 and my brother tried a Colombiana cola. He liked it a lot; it was lighter than a "normal" cola, non-carbonated and less sweet than cola around here. I don't drink pop and even when I did, I always hated colas. I can't say I'd drink a whole Colombiana, but I didn't find it disgusting & that's saying something. Now on to the star of the show, the picada! It was loaded with several different meats, plantains fixed in different ways, yuca & baby potatoes and 4 sauces. We were so excited when it was set down on our table, we dug in before we even got our silverware haha. The platter had chicken, steak, chicharron, chorizo, blood sausage, sausage, sweet plantain, fried plantain, fried yuca and Colombian potatoes. The sauces were: avocado sauce, mayo/ketchup, pico de gallo & a garlicky one. Everything was so, so flavorful and cooked perfectly! There was not one thing that any of us didn't like. If I had to pick my top contender of a meat and a non-meat item, I would choose the chicharron & sweet plantain.... But I hope to never have to make that choice! The chicharron were thick and crunchy. The sweet plantain were perfection. When we left we were each given a dulce de leche caramel. They also have a variety of Colombian snacks and candies for sale. They recently opened an additional, larger location at 951 Niagara Falls Blvd (it used to be El Palenque). We were told they will be keeping both locations open, but the new location will have some additional items that they don't serve at the Oliver St location. I cannot wait to visit again!!!

Came here back in December because my friend kept raving about the food. It's a combination of a…read morestore selling snacks/bakery/restaurant. Very limited seating inside. The food does take awhile because they make everything fresh so when you do get it, it is piping hot! The three of us got the Picada for 2 to share and the Caldo de Bola Res with grilled tilapia. It was more than enough to share and we had leftovers that we could eat for two more meals at home. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked well. Nothing tasted dry at all! The chicharron was my favorite so I got a separate order of just that to take home. Highly recommend and would definitely go there again!

Cafe 59 - Turkey burgundy sandwich with a bag of Lay's. $17.25 before tax and tip. Definitely not worth it.

We started with the polenta wings in a honey sesame sauce. So so good. Hot and crunchy! They had a dinner specials menu available 5-10 so we both ordered off of that to take advantage. My boyfriend got the spicy duck stir fry and I got the 4 cheese grilled cheese with bacon and tomato soup. (There were 4 soup options to chose from!) everything was hot, tasty and well done. We also got cocktails from the bar that were delicious. Low key vibes. Definitely will be back.

I miss Cafe 59...and used to overlook the fact that potato wedges aren't included with the sandwiches, the falafel burger is always mushy in the middle, they don't include enough dressing with their salads...and things are sloppily prepared. I overlooked all of that because they use whole foods and the taste was decent. Fast forward to 2025, I've included a photo of a turkey burgundy sandwich with a small bag of Lay's (weird choice, but ok) and a pickle spear, which costs $17.25 before you even add tax or tip. What?? I totally get that costs are rising for everyone including restaurants, but this isn't in line with what you can get at other places, even on the same street. If you can't sell your original menu at reasonable prices anymore, then you need to adjust it. We won't be back.
