Dale performed year round yard work for me for several years. For a long time he was absolutely great. He was dependable, affordable, and did good work. Unfortunately, last fall the level of his service declined. He came less frequently and his work was not up to his usual level. After a friend offered to do the same work at no cost I decided to take them up on the offer seeing as I was no longer happy with SOS Services. When I notified Dale he was calm and accepting. Within a week he was threatening to subpoena me in a court case for defamation. I did not respond to his attempts to contact me. Several months later he threatened to sue me again for breach of contract, stating I owed him for the entire season, but that he "wasn't cruel" and would only charge me for one month and a cancelation of service fee. When I inquired about what contract he was referring to (as I never saw or signed one), he sent me Google screenshots about e-signature laws and claimed our texts were a binding contract. He said I had until midnight the next day to pay him or he would file a suit in small claims court. I did not respond and instead contacted my lawyer who said Dale's claims were not valid, as e-signature laws only apply to actual contracts signed online. He recommended I block Dale on all platforms which is what I did. I appreciate the work Dale used to do, but I would never work with him again after my experience. read more
