Ever read a review that starts with some garbage like, "If I could give zero stars, I would." ? Well if I could give all the stars to SOS From Texas, I would. Just got my first order: t-shirts- long sleeve and short, shorts and sweat pants. First of all, there is ABSOLUTELY no odor of any kind on these items. Obviously, the mailman accidentally dropped your packages in a meth lab or some ish. These clothes are well fitting, odorless, well-made and clearly direct from artisans' hands. What I love about them is a fairly long list so let's start with the obvious. 100% American from seed to shipping. Well, there are a few companies that do that so not an overwhelmingly unique quality. But if you compare prices between companies, SoS is the winner by a substantial margin. That said, you kinda get what you pay for- which in said case would be a case of fashionability and variety; both of which cost money. Pay to play. And it plays both ways. Example: there is a company that sells all American grown and made clothes that are ultra lux. Their T-shirts are $50ea....and they look like any other high end tshirt made in China. What I notice about the natural color SOS fabric are all the little variations of color and texture that make it noticeably distinct. In other words, There are visible details in these fabrics that scream custom. Up close, when you look at the weave pattern of these textiles, it is clearly not off the rack from Target. So if you pair the idiomatic construction with price point, origin and convenience (shipping was hella quick) you're left with a resounding winner- SoS all. day. long. Shall I continue...?
Yes. Let's chat about what's not 'perfect' about my order. As a scientist (lower limb biomechanics), specificity is important. I'm around 5'9", 135lbs (stop laughing I'm too busy to eat). The long sleeve tshirts are the exact, perfect length for my arms but I've never seen that. Usually there is a little slack. And I've got petite little baby girl wrists and the wrist cuffs are tighter than usual. I fear they may shrink in the wash but this company has been around long enough to have dialed that in so my fear is a distant threat. I predict the wrist cuffs will stretch out a bit. Next, pockets. Bro where the heck are the pockets on the shorts and sweatpants?? I'm looking' fabulous in my blue long sleeve T-shirt with the natural color sweats and a pair of Drew Shoe Thrust and gotta carry my accoutrement by hand? Again, pay to play. Am I gonna pay 100-200 more for pockets and a logo? Maybe once... until I get a pizza grease stain right on my cashandprizes area. Then a feast with a bowl of crow peppered with buyer's remorse and I'm back to the tried and true value of SoS.
Recap yay!! I see the limited variety of this company's offerings as intentional lending to their precision in manufacturing and overall value. That said, not withstanding aforementioned commentary, this company's Values resonate with me. His Will, not mine, be done. Case closed. read more
