3.7 stars I heard Disney is replacing Sorcerer's Workshop with something else, so I had to revisit the place one last time. Definitely worth a quick stop if you've never been. The library within is gorgeous! Interior is very small, but most things are interactive and a decent activity for the toddlers.

The Sorceror's Workshop is located inside the Animation Studio in Disney California's Adventure. My BFF wanted to take me to the Beast's Library to take the quiz to find out which Disney character I am most like. I actually thought there would be a long wait to take the quiz, but the Beast's Library was on the empty side. There were a few stations with the "quiz" book and we just had to wait for one person to finish before I can take my test. First off, they take a picture of you! It was pretty cute and I especially like how they would let you retake the picture if the first wasn't perfect enough. After a series of questions, there is a great unveiling that tells you which Disney character you are like. I got CINDERELLA!! My friend and I thought that it was hilarious... especially since I have a Van-D-rella repp losing my heels from time to time after late nights of dancing. So now that it's confirmed that I am like Cinderella... I really need my faerie godmother to help me with Prince Charming. *sigh* In the mean time, I'll slave away at work...

Ever since I discovered the Animation Academy, I've been excited to do new things at the Disneyland resort. so I figured, why not try next door. Unlike Animation Academy and Turtle Talk, this isn't a show, so you don't have to wait for the next show time. The first area has different variations of a zoetrope. They all are kind of cool, but a little boring. A couple of them are traditional zoetropes where you look through the side or from the top to see the image move. There are other ones which are basically like flipcards that spin to animate with a magnifying glass above. The second area is really cool because it's the Beast's library. There are something like six machines that help you to animate a character. Above the faux fireplace, you can watch as the petals fall off the rose and once in awhile the room darkens and the prince's photo is ripped. Very cool. A third area is Ursula's cavern. There are three or four machines that allow you to read character lines or sing songs that are dubbed into the scenes. It's a trip to hear your voice as the Disney characters. I sang "Bare Necessities" which was awful, but you get the thrill of karaoke if only for 5 to 10 seconds. This is a fun way to waste time as you wait for the next Animation Academy, so give it a shot.

We showed up at Disneyland last night to discover we were banished from the park by Mickey and his Halloween Party! So we walked across the way to California Adventure and decided to see if we could get fastpasses for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror before it goes away forever. Unfortunately, the passes were all sold out and the line was prohibitively long, so we headed over to the Disney Animation Building ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=kUs7wfeR2q9678-Zwn2z0w ) to kill some time at the Sorcerer's Workshop ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=Gwla-uVSs8pIfEEBDyjNnA ) while hoping the line for "Tower" would get shorter as the park moved closer to closing. Walking into the animation building, you are taken to the Courtyard Gallery ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=C_PkVtQ4srhXvZ_mt2upCA ) which allows to relax on padded benches while watching artwork, drawings and scenes from animated features on projection screens. From the Courtyard Galley, you can choose to visit several exhibits in the building: The Animation Academy The Art of Animation Gallery The Animation Screening Room The Sorcerer's Workshop ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=iTsZVp-gOkSjhKHT4LRGMQ ) We chose to see the workshop on this visit which consists of three different rooms starting with the Magic Mirror Realm ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=zMy0N-hII7wuHb0oSxX7Mw ), moving into the Beast's Library ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=WaSO7aXp_9NI1diJa5ym2A ) and finishing with Ursula's Grotto. The Magic Mirror Realm allows the more creative guests to draw on strips of paper and putting the drawing in one of several receptacles which give the impression the images are in motion. In this medieval dungeon, the Magic Mirror ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select_video=ioDDG6tK6dGdWEDV_QCceg ) will share its wisdom with inspiring artists while they are hard at work. The Beast's Library ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=PVft3xn3vuhaoMEEUlq6Qg ) with give you opportunity to find out which Disney character most closely matches your personality. Sit down in front one of the enchanted books ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=sjWU0Nmk3HU6oKQZ34WgDQ ) while Lumiere and Cogsworth walk you through a series of questions to find your inner Disney character. My better half was happy to discover she was most like Cinderella, but was less than thrilled to discover she had married Gaston ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=4Ii-mWNtHrlIrtRyO0wekQ ) from Beauty and the Beast. I guess Laina should have consulted this enchanted book before saying "I do!" Rohlinism: You should always know who you are saying "I do!" to! The library also goes through a metamorphous changing from a beautiful chamber ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=hKv5mNcy-qMe6e9M2MGvRg ) to a chamber that is in a miserable state ( https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorcerors-workshop-anaheim?select=Hjnhe3ayzeqCOg05G9XUfQ ) at four minute intervals. Our attempt to enter Ursula's Grotto was met by a locked door. Laina asked one of the cast members in the Beast's Library why the door to the grotto was locked. The cast member informed my lovely wife that ever since Elsa and Anna had taken up residence in The Art of Animation Gallery exhibit, the water in the grotto had become too cold and Ursula had relocated to Florida's warmer waters! Even with Ursula's Grotto closed for the foreseeable future, there are plenty of fun things to see and do in the Sorcerer's Workshop!

I don't think very many people end up here, and that might be what makes it such a blast for my 2 year old daughter - especially during a hot day. Found deep within the Animation Studios building in DCA, this room is inspired by the Beast's library in Beauty and the Beast. It hosts a very cool looking faux fireplace underneath a screen that shows an image of the magical glass enclosed rose from the movie, and the ambiance in the room cycles from bright and uplifting to a dark and gloomy every once in a while. There are touch screen "books" where you can take a digital picture of yourself and take a short survey to discover which Disney character is most like you. (I'm apparently most like Mulan.) I only wish you could email the results to yourself the way you can at Buzz's Astro Blasters ride. Would make a super cute souvenir!

Ok to walk through to escape the outside elements when it's raining or hot, but not too much to see. Little kids will like it if they've never walked through, as there are a few interactive items (like a digital book in the Beast's library and a "make your own moving animation" area), but just ok. I think they could definitely add a few more details and activities to make it more of an attraction but would recommend seeing it at least once.

Fun for adults! I actually managed to make a mini-animation. I was quite impressed with myself -- that's worth 4 stars in my book.

Use a credit card to book your room, so you can use their quick check in line. Either way, make sure you take the exact card you use to book for checking in. Before you go, buy the discounted dining deal. You can only buy it in advance, and the food and drinks are pretty pricey, so you will spend $$$. I also suggest attaching your credit card to your wristband for convenience. We really enjoyed the pizza place onsite. We checked in on a Sunday and it was a bit crowded, but we managed to do it all in three hours. The kids loved the bunk bed, and my only complaint about our room is that the tub faucet leaked. The next day, we packed a bag with a change of clothes that we fit into a small locker for $12, and went back into the waterpark for a couple more hours. I recommend packing travel toiletries for a quick shower before leaving. They have plenty of showers, changing rooms, and a swimsuit dryer, but no toiletries in the waterpark bathrooms. Waterpark towels are provided and must be checked out and in or you'll be charged, so don't lose them. There's a water bottle refill station in the waterpark near the bathrooms. We didn't try many of the activities offered except for the arcade that offered packages starting at $35. Lastly, be sure to pay for parking before you leave. That was also $35. All in all, we got a deal on the room but spent more on food, drinks, games, and parking combined. My kids are 5 and 10, and they were able to go on just about everything that was open. One day was plenty of time if you don't plan on doing all of the activities.

The issue is not necessarily that every employee was rude -- the real problem is the completely broken system and lack of communication between departments. We booked THREE rooms for 18 guests for a birthday celebration and simply wanted to reserve and pay for a place where everyone could eat lunch together and celebrate with cake. Something that should have been straightforward became an exhausting process filled with confusion, conflicting information, and endless transfers between departments. The front desk had no idea about the policies of the events department. The front desk also had no clear understanding of pool policies. Every single question required someone to "leave a note" for another department and wait for an email response that never came. No callbacks. No follow-up. No accountability. The most frustrating part was trying to contact the front desk directly. First, you are forced through an AI system. Then you finally reach someone in the "reservation department," who is not even onsite. Despite politely asking multiple times to be transferred directly to the front desk, they refused and insisted they could help. They could not. Instead, they placed me on hold supposedly to ask the front desk themselves -- and after 11 minutes on hold, they never came back. At that point, yes, the reservation department representatives themselves became part of the problem: rude, dismissive, unprofessional, poorly trained, and completely incapable of resolving even simple questions. This company has far too many unnecessary departments that clearly do not communicate or work together. Planning an important family event here became stressful instead of enjoyable. I will never host another birthday event at Great Wolf Lodge again, and I would strongly caution families against wasting their time and money here for important celebrations.

They were so excited to ride the Skyrider, it's a zip line across partial of the park. I highly definitely recommend this indoor playground. It's probably the best one in OC. We've gone to a lot the past years. This place has so much for your kids to do. Met the manager Terry and Sally. They are both amazing and friendly. Always there to answer your questions and needs. Our school Mabel Paine had a day of fundraising here also. UA loves to support and gives back to the community. Love a friendly oriented company. What's awesome is they now have a security here that I love since it's open. Security really nice. The indoor playground is pretty clean and well taken care of. Love the mascot Urbie. Outside, the bumper boats are a refreshing way to cool down. You can see that the staff works hard at maintaining the grounds.
