On the other hand, the paperwork from that experience has lasted over a year, is not yet done, and is more likely to leave a scar, thanks to evil US insurance companies. This review concerns more pedestrian matters, namely the cafe in the hospital. One of the worst things about Switzerland, especially in the smaller cities, is that you can never count on being able to buy a cup of coffee, or a sandwich, between the hours of 6PM and 7AM, or at all on a Sunday- and often Monday too. This has led to a gas-station / train-station (the only places open outside of 8-5 hours) stand-up take-out culture, where the only places open offer only products and no services... sort of like a drive-thru without the driving. The cafe in the hospital is open early until late every day of the week, as far as I know. It's not fancy, but you can get a fresh cup of coffee and sit down over a snack and read your book or do your homework no matter if its 4PM on a Sunday afternoon. And who knows, maybe you can brighten somebody else's day who's not there by choice.

They have recently expanded the facilities and there is more space to help you recover. The service is excellent and everyone is there to help you :)! If they can't help you they will leverage their other Hirslanden Hospitals/Doctors to ensure they do the best and help you recover ASAP. The doctors and nursing staff are all well trained and professional. The support staff are also well trained and friendly. The food and service makes you forget you are in a hospital versus a day spa. For example, there is a bar and masseuse on site. In the event you need a hospital in Lausanne area, go no further.
